EARLY ACCESS: Megamind FULL REACTION

Megamind is a delightful animated film that offers a fresh and humorous perspective. The story revolves around Megamind, a supervillain voiced by Will Ferrell, who unexpectedly finds himself without an arch-nemesis after accidentally defeating his longtime foe, Metro Man (Brad Pitt). This twist sets the stage for Megamind's journey of self-discovery and redemption.

The film is a visual treat, boasting vibrant animation and inventive character design. The voice cast adds charm and wit to the narrative, including Tina Fey as reporter Roxanne Ritchi and Jonah Hill as Megamind's bumbling sidekick Minion. The humor is both clever and accessible, making it enjoyable for audiences of all ages. And the sound track was a banger!

What separates Megamind is its exploration of identity and the nature of good and evil. The film encourages viewers to question traditional superhero tropes and consider the motivations behind the character's actions. Megamind's evolution from villain to hero is heartwarming and adds depth to the storyline. Its humor, engaging characters, and thoughtful themes make it a must-watch for all.

EARLY ACCESS: Megamind FULL REACTION

Comments

A little late to this one but your Early YT Cut post reminded me so, starting it now! Lol

Sarah

One possible reason it didn't do well: Despicable Me came out just three months prior and that movie also had a villain with minions. The marketing likely outshined Megamind.

I’m guessing it didn’t do well because it’s hard to portray what this movie is actually about through trailers. That and the main character being a big blue alien probably makes it seem like an immature kids film that parents probably weren’t excited to see. Anyone I know that’s seen this film after it came out though has absolutely loved it and I’m glad it’s getting the recognition it deserves.

Bigpawpaw81

Totally understandable. It's a symptom of people using words in ways that they weren't meant to be. All girls behave like I described, but women don't. They aren't the same thing. Just like boys behave immaturely and selfishly while men don't. I'm always careful to make distinct differences between boys/males/men and girls/females/women. They're entirely different classifications as far as I'm concerned.

Marco Gutierrez

I would say maybe in the future type "some" women, or something similar, instead of generalizing because on a first read I got a little offended. I know you don't mean any harm but that sentence about how "girls like to use guys and lead them on" rubbed me the wrong way.

Mason Quinn, I'm right there with you bud! I don't really like a lot of Will Ferrell's stuff to much. I have been waiting for Friday since you posted the film schedule last week. Absolutely, I love this film and I knew you all would too. Keep up the great work guys! You ROCK!

TinaLama

Man I forgot how good this movie was! So fun rewatching it with you guys and I now have an even greater appreciation for it

Ivan Rasmussen

Love this film, although they didn’t make a full length sequel they did make a megamind short called Megamind: button of doom (it's around 16 mins).

Zoe S

This was awesome! Another great reaction. You should put "Moana" on the list too, it's a really good one!

trunovelT

Yeah Despicable Me is the main reason why Megamind did not get a 2nd movie

Graham F

The general consensus about what y'all were talking about at the end is that Megamind most likely didn't do very well because it was released during the same year as Despicable Me - and one can draw a lot of parallels between those two movies. Ultimately, Despicable Me became very popular (its cute, and the minions were extremely popular) so Megamind was simply overshadowed. Its rather unfortunate, really.

Seraylin

Look nice guy syndrome is definitely a thing and it's 100% a real problem, but it also has a female counterpart which Oak touched on. Sex and relationships shouldn't be transactional, but that goes for females too. You can't deny that girls like to use guys and lead them on when they never have any interest in them. Furthermore, you also can't get mad at a guy when he's callous or uncaring because a girl keeps going after the same types of guys and keeps getting burned but also rejects him. You can't have it both ways. Ultimately all of these problems stem from people not having a relationship with God. Sex and relationships have become transactional. It's all about "what can I get out of this" and the moment that it becomes a bad deal for you, it's time to leave. It's just selfishness, plain and simple. Relationships should be about providing service to the other person, even if you aren't getting anything in return. It's about giving of yourself because you know that they'll give of themselves too. People don't understand that and don't want to be selfless like that and then they wonder why their relationships keep failing.

Love these animation reactions!! a 2nd one of these would probably be awesome* Dont forget to check out "ilvermorney" for more Harry potter stuff* Team avatar right around the corner :D
