EARLY ACCESS: The Fall of the House of Usher 1x3 FULL REACTION

The episode's visual elements achieve an unprecedented level of graphic intensity. The image of the burnt Morella gripping Arthur's feet is profoundly unsettling, but it does add to the show's unique storytelling in a fantastic way. Equally disturbing is witnessing her daughter's desperate attempt to prevent her from unwrapping her bandages at the hospital.

The utilization of sound in this episode continues to exhibit the same brilliance as seen in its predecessors. The episode's beginning, marked by the eerie squeaking of the chimps, is executed with great precision and evokes a sense of unease.

Particularly, the unsettling music and sound effects emerge during the most distressing moments, like when Arthur explores the deserted building or Camille enters the laboratory. These audio elements effectively enhance the eerie atmosphere of the scenes.

Two more marvel actors just joined the cast - Karen Gillan (Nebula) and Chiwetel Ejiofor (Karl Mordo in Dr Strange). I can't wait to watch that movie.😊

I have a few guesses who the informant could be (granddaughter, their lawyer, or the og siblings). Could be a curveball and Verna is the informant since she is cleaning up these last few episodes. It's been awhile since I read this story and I remember nothing from it so I'm excited to see who it is. Or, if the lawyer made it up hoping the family would split and turn on each other, not knowing how bad it would get. When Verna told her her death could have been peaceful at home, in her bed, I'm wondering if she was supposed to have overdosed. She was obviously impaired when she left and it would have kicked in later that night (if she had gone home straight from her brother's place).

I first saw Carla Gugino in Spy Kids with Antonio Banderas as a kid and I've always been in love with her. She has always been phenomenal in the other adaptations but this one, like wow, she's the standout performance for me. Kate Siegel is also incredible in her role. I was sad she got killed in episode 3. Ugh, I can't wait for you guys to finish this series, it was amazing to watch and I'm sure you guys will love it.

I love how they've incorporated different Poe works to fit the main narrative of The Fall of the House of Usher story. Murder in the Rue Morgue was Poe's first story featuring Auguste Dupin, a detective incredibly skilled at logical deduction chronicled by his hapless assistant, several decades before Sherlock Holmes. The big twist is that the murderer he's tracking turns out to be an orangutan, and one of its victims is named Camille.

Everybody is amazing but Carla has completely blown me away! The woman and talent that she is. This whole series has just been so poetic and beautiful and the actors played their roles to a T.

What an episode! The line delivery in this one was on another level, the pieces are starting to fall into place. The scene with Carla jumping up onto the table was very creepy and the reveal was well done

Mike Flannagan just does not miss with these shows it's beyond impressive. I'll also point out Perry had plans to use the footage to blackmail every person who went to that party. AND yes big shoutout to Carla Gugino!!! she's a talent in everything she's in but I agree she is really given the opportunity to shine as an actress in this series.

forever obsessed with everyone in the flanniverse casts. It's so amazing to see Carla and Bruce Greenwoods in these specific roles having first seen them in Mike Flannagan's movie, Gerald's Game, which was a Stephen King adaption. There they play a married couple in one of maybe the most stressful 103 minutes of movie ever. The two of them are powerhouses in acting. I mean everyone in this cast is. We also just got an announcement for a new Flannagan movie, Life of Chuck. With some of our fave actors we've seen already along with Matthew Lillard and Tom Hiddelston. im so hype for that.

"Broke it all up, when I decided it was time...She didn't know that it was me until the handcuffs" wild theory but maybe the whole monologue of the sister, young Madeline Usher, hinted that she is the informant?! The scene with the chimps was so creepy, especially when Carla jumped on the table and started to act like an ape. And the monologues in this episode were incredible. Can't wait for episode 4.😊

Stephanie

Yes!! Here we go episode 3
