EARLY ACCESS: The Falcon and the Winter Soldier 1x4 FULL REACTION

Karli may not rank as the most captivating MCU villain, but she stands apart from the typical world-destroying antagonist. In some ways, she shares common ground with John and his compatriots, despite their vastly different approaches.

The symbolic finale, marked by blood-staining Cap's shield, holds significant implications for the tarnishing of Roger's memory. The fallout and public reaction to this event promise to be intriguing as the story unfolds.

Conversely, the Wakandans, under Ayo's leadership, demanded the extradition of Zemo, asserting jurisdiction everywhere. While they may have reached a pact regarding Zemo, this radicalized stance echoes the very ideological conflict that triggered the civil war in the first place, offering an ironic twist to the narrative.

I remember getting chills the first time I watched this episode. I’ve seen this series a couple of times now and one thing I caught on a rewatch was the guy John Walker killed at the end of the episode was the guy in the cemetery with Karli earlier in the episode. He admitted that he looked up to Captain America, thought he was a hero. It’s heartbreaking that he ends up being killed by the new Captain America and with the iconic shield no less, a symbol of hope for those who believed in Cap.

The end of this episode is to this day one of the most shocking moments in the entire MCU. It’s the complete opposite of Cap. As for the line about power showing more of who you really are, it’s very similar to the first Captain America movie and what is said to Cap about the serum: the serum amplifies what’s already there. What’s good, becomes great. What’s bad, becomes worse. For more Zemo and Bucky, highly recommend my #1 favourite MCU movie Captain America Civil War where Zemo is the villain. Even if you don’t necessarily watch it for the channel, just please watch it. Couldn’t recommend it more.

I remember the ending of this episode shook me to my core. I have always aligned with Team Cap and seeing the shield covered in blood in the final shot was like the worst kind of gut punch

Zemo really is the most underrated villain in the MCU. Setting aside Loki, since he’s been good as much as he’s been a villain, and I think I would only rank him behind Thanos in the MCU (not counting the OG Spidey villains in No Way Home, either; just purely MCU-only villains).

1. Cap used a gun in the first movie when him and Bucky fought Hydra. 2. What Lemar said about the serum is a summarized version of what Dr Erskine told Steve about the serum before he did the procedure. The good in a person becomes great, but the bad becomes worse. That's why John Walker is the wrong person to have the serum. Besides the ptsd, that he clearly has, he is a total a*hole. And that's the point where I disagree with Zemo. Steve has never been corrupted by the serum, but neither has Bucky. He is a good guy and if he hadn't ended up with Hydra, he would have made a great Captain America too. If Sam took the serum, he would also not be corrupted by it. Steve saw the heart, the principals and the courage in Sam that reflects his own character. That's why he gave him the shield. The serum is not the problem. It's the people who take it or the people who decide who gets it.

Captain America is, some big big shoes to fill, and Walker was feeling that pressure, especially after losing 2 fights, once against super soldiers and once against just regular, albiet incredibly highly trained, people and realizing he might actually not cut it and that anxiety, uncertainty, wounded egos and whatnot was too much, when he saw his opportunity with that serum. Which, as alluded and foreshadowed in Lemars pep talk, just became amplified. Hate it for Lemar though, he was a great dude that was happy/proud to be alongside his friend and what they were (supposed) to stand for. I'm gunna have to rewatch Captain America: Civil War again now, Zemo was so good. He does still have parts to play in the universe though.... :3

I like this episode because the ending, where ‘new cap’ is attacking the flag smasher, directly mirrors the scene in Civil War where Cap is defending Bucky from IronMan and instead of taking him out Cap just disarms him by smashing the Arc Reactor… It just shows how different the two Caps really are. Very powerful messages and imagery throughout this whole show! I love it ♥️

I am so ready for this episode!! I love The Dora Milaje, Ayo is my favorite and she terrifies me in this series! I TOTALLY got it right away with the Revenge of the Nerds Lamar (javelin)/Wakanda spear reference.. I can't think of that movie without seeing Lamar with that javelin and that rap that he did.. love the 80s ..LOL. Great reaction, Thank You.
