Brand new to the channel and just binged these. Loved your reactions. One Piece is not just my favorite anime of all time. It's my favorite piece of media of all time. And Zoro is my favorite character in ant form of media of all time. I've read literally hundreds of books and manga and still say that the author (Eiichiro Oda, lovingly referred to as Oda-sensei or GODA by the fans) is the greatest writer I've ever had the pleasure of reading from. The manga, anime and the live action are all phenomenal. Just so you know, Season 2 should be coming out probably mid-late 2025. They're filming now and most of the cast has been announced. Netflix is also remaking the anime with WIT Studio (Attack on Titan seasons 1-3), so it will have updated animation and a more condensed story that lacks the filler the anime sometimes has. I think you guys should check it out when it comes out (also next year). Season 1 of the new anime, titled "The One Piece" will cover everything from Season 1 of the live action so you won't have to worry about spoilers for stuff you haven't seen. I think you guys would enjoy comparing and contrasting the story differences (there are actually quite a few though the changes they made were still good) so there would be some freshness to the watch and not just regurgitating the same story

I've been watching your entire reaction series to One Piece live action as background noise for a second run now and I don't know if this has been made clear yet by anyone in comments, so now that it's over and won't be a spoiler: The story MOSTLY (there's some weirdness with names that don't fit this trend, but MOSTLY) follows the Japanese convention of putting family names first. The show never says this because it would spoil their relationship prior to the reveal at the end of episode four, but Garp's full name is Monkey D. Garp, just as our hero's name is Monkey D. Luffy.

Bunny ears is a rat, his name nezumi literally translates to rat

utafoxy

This show was a treat to watch with you guys. Honestly, if I hadn’t seen you guys were reacting to it, I would have never checked out the trailer which peaked my interest to watch it. A fun series for sure. I will say for Answer’s comment about the marine in the “bunny ears,” I think those are mouse ears. Bunny ears would be longer. 🐰

Spice Light

OH MY GOD YES

Y’all should watch the anime in subbed the dubbed lacks a lot of the emotion that the original voice actors give. And if you only want to watch to the live action that’s only 45 episodes with a lot of content that is condensed or skipped. One piece is a joy to watch and once you find your hook 1100+ episodes will seem like too few to watch.

Fold

It was nice to wacht One Piece again with you, i hope that one day you will think about watching the anime because it allows you to have a more complete view of the characters and their story, not to mention the secondary characters who appear only a few secons in the live action ( for obvious reason). As an avid fan of the series since its release i reccomend watching the original version with subtitles. Im really happy to see new people discover and love Luffy and his crew.

Stefania

I also want to add. After saving coco village, which in the anime/manga called it the Arlong Park Arc is the starting point to the next arc which is their last town before Luffy and his crew set sail to the Grand Line. I’m not going to tell you who the guy at the end with the two cigars but I will tell you he’s a devil fruit user.

gamergirlYINGZ

Garp won’t get them devils fruits becuz he doesn’t have and he isn’t a devil fruit user. The only way to have devil fruit powers is to find one or if the user is dead the devil fruit will go back to its original form until the next person eats it. Not every character is a devil fruit user. Garp is just strong.

gamergirlYINGZ

i am so excited for aot, will all 4 of you be watching i would love to see everyone's perspective!

Istaebiel Crem

I would love for them to watch My Hero Academia !!

Low

Cast is very good, there are some changes to the characters, but its kinda needed for a live action. The story is alot more dense, because the animated series has alot more episodes the moments where alot harder for me, but they did a great job nonetheless.

Chrisiyyi

AOT has been scheduled for awhile now to follow Korra 🤘🤘

Badd Medicine

This is sign you guys you start watching anime lol. Try "Demon Slayer" or "Attach on Titan", always good for beginners. :)

YK

As to the Actors fitting the Role, as an Anime-Watcher I think they nailed it (as much as they could given its live-action). But seeing the trailers i was super worried that they did another Avatar or DBZ. But After the the first Episode i was sold on it. There a some Changes i don't like compared to the Source, but once again, its live action and way shorter, so I doubt they could have done much better :)

VengeanceCookie

Was so much fun watching with you guys even watching it a second time, they FINALLY got a live action of an anime right, now im so excited for AVATAR 😍

HXBBIT_FEET

Feel like you guys should watch Akira

BlakedAsFuh

what a ride am sad its ended but man am i glad it happened thanks for reacting to one piece it was a wild ride. season 2 cant come any sooner

SUNMOON

Yup, Nami stayed true to canon. That’s definitely the OPLA’s writers strong suit. Too many live action shows stray too far from canon and as a result look ridiculous at times. Writers need to understand that you can stay true to canon whilst altering bits. Zoro and Sanji were great examples of this. Praying they keep the same writers for season 2!!

CT

Definitely should give it a go after AOT. Probably before the start of season 2. Because the Anime is very different in the Sanji and Arlong Arcs. Its about 45 episodes.

Alex_999

Funny Oak should mention how the writers of The Rings of Power should have consulted with the writers of One Piece. Because this is a video someone already made on YouTube [Don't watch it, it spoils stuff for season 2]. But what Oak said is true! Comparing the female roles of Galadriel vs Nami, Nami was written way better! It showed Nami's strength, weaknesses and redemptions while still showing how intelligent and integral she is to the Straw Hat Crew! Man... season 2 needs to get here fast!

romaiiiii

Diamonds thing "if you didn't see it, it didn't happen" is such a One Piece fan thing to say 🤣🤣

romaiiiii

You guys should react to the cast interviews

Elizabeth Gidney

If yall did want to get into anime a little more, I think yall would really like My Hero Academia. It's another one that seems like it's for kids, but actually has a lot of deeper stuff in it. It's got great character development and fantastic action, plus it draws a lot of inspiration from western superhero franchises. If you don't want to watch the original Japanese with subtitles, the dub is actually pretty good, though I prefer the original Japanese with subs myself.

HeartlandHunny

I think they'd really like Crash Landing on You, too. The romance is sweet, but for me it's all the side characters that really make that show.

HeartlandHunny

If you go back and rewatch the season, it becomes obvious that Garp wasn't just testing Luffy, he was also testing Koby. It's not as obvious the first time through if you don't know who Garp is. They play it off as Garp using Koby to get to Luffy, and even have him say things that could be taken as corrupt, like if he were promoted he'd "have to do things their way" and that he'd lose his freedom. The more you see of marines like Morgan and Nezumi, the more that seems less like corruption on Garp's part and more like maybe he doesn't always agree with the marine's brand of justice himself and is trying to suss out what Koby's code of justice is. By the end, it's clear Luffy's not the only one who's passed his test. I really love everything they did with Monkey D. Garp in the live action. The anime and manga don't introduce him until much later.

HeartlandHunny

I love how much you all enjoyed this show! It was such a fun ride, now we wait for season 2!

MJ

Was a great show! Would love for you guys to react to the animated show My Adventures With Superman

Ken Petrin

As a One Piece fan, please check out the source material. You will not be disappointed.

Angel Zane

One Piece Season 2 has been confirmed. While waiting for it, you can watch the anime until OPLA S2 comes out. But, It's up to you whether or not you can add it to your busy schedule.

Arudorin

I know this is a dumb suggestion but i think you guys should watch the anime version from ep1 to arlong park arc and maybe wait for s2 of the live action then continue the anime or if you guys love the anime then you guys should continue it

Andhy thomas

The anime is over a thousand episodes wich is a daunting task indeed but you can probably try to react some of the iconic scenes of the first season in anime version. Here's the list that you can search on YouTube 1. Zoro vs Mihawk 2. Zoro's declaration of never losing again 3. Nami ask Luffy for help 4. The walk to Arlong Park 5. Luffy gomu gomu no battle axe anime version

Justin John Llanita

oh they would love this, such a beautiful show. really balances humor with moments that tug on your heartstrings. i second this suggestion! :]

bb

I've both read the manga and watched the anime and I can say that yes there are definitely differences in how the story is told and even a few small differences in the way the characters act, but I feel they were necessary to keep the flow right. Also they still did a great job in capturing the essence of One Piece and all it's characters. And that, to me, is what matters most.....also I feel the crew that made the live action wanted to leave some good stuff for the new comer fans to discover when a chunk of them inevitably check out the manga and/or the anime, as they are all huge fans themselves.

Deborah Grzelak

Being a huge OP fan I do want to be one to say, don't bother with the anime. It's really poorly paced. They mixed canon/filler material so you can't skip filler most of the time. Not to mention all the recaps you have to skip. If y'all insist on looking further into the source as fans, go straight to the comic/manga. Live action seems to be a fun alternative so far too; wouldn't be surprised if folks just wait for S2 instead.

hams

I know they had to condense the story to fit tv, but I like the relationship between Nami and Nojiko better in the anime. Nojiko knew about the deal from the start. She got her tattoos to make Nami feel better about her Arlong mark, which is why they look similar at the end. So happy you watched the series, can't wait for Season 2!

Tina

yes!

Maya

THANK YOU GUYS for reacting to my favorite thing ever

Brynn Busalacchi

Not gonna lie, if you guys like the Netflix adaptation you should really give the original material a shot. While its length may seem intimidating i have yet to hear someone who did the ride say its too long because usually people complain that they caught up too fast. Also the length of the anime is giving way more details of the world away, allowing for a more emotional experience than the adaptation which, while beeing very true to the material for the most part, doesnt really capture the weight and impact of those moments. Unfortuneately while there is a lot of people reacting to the show there is yet a set of people to give it a shot, who also go into a kind of analysis and quality retrospective for it. Highly recommend checking the original thing out, its not a waste of time by any means and One Piece might be the best story that has ever been written or lets be honest, is still beeing written. If you ever get a slot and think of any commitment to something longer please do One Piece as this is the biggst show that everyone shies away from resulting in never getting anyone reacting to it in a proper manner like ive seen here in the last few weeks (binging everything from Avatar over Harry Potter and beeing on edge with the boys and other things).

DukeSmile

Iñaki was in a show before this on Netflix called The Imperfects

Elizabeth Gidney

I recently discovered you guys. I subscribed like 3hrs ago to see the One Piece Ep7, Didn't expect finale too. You guys are the coolest! Keep it up.

Milan Lakhani

There is actually a Special called Episode of East Blue, which covers everything to the point where they make the vow on the barrel. It is more condensed in comparison to the anime show (I think it’s movie length). You just have to stop right before the credits roll because they included future characters.

Flower-in-The-Night

oh by the way, if you guys haven't seen the 2008 Speed Racer movie you definitely should. As much as I adore OPLA Speed Racer is still the best live-action anime Hollywood has ever done. It got bad reviews because of its experimental cinematography for the time, it was made by the same people that did the freaking Matrix! it really deserves more love! You guys should totally watch it!

DandyZombie

They really did an amazing job capturing the spirit of the original show, it was a fantastic journey watching this with you guys.

DandyZombie

To answer Oak's question, I truly feel like the cast were perfectly cast. They all perfectly reflect the characters, IMO. I know that some hardcore fans were unhappy about Sanji, because in the anime he's very thin and he's French, so they're disappointed that they took a muscled British, but I LOVE HIM so much! I think Taz is fantastic as Sanji and I don't listen to these grumpy fans.

KarySky

In the meantime let's enjoy some cola haha

vladislav Fojt

This was such a fun ride with you ! :) One Piece was the first anime I ever watched, and I started watching it with my boyfriend, at the beginning of our relationship. We're almost up to date in the series, 4 years later. But this live action is so incredible, I prefer this to the anime, by far. Such a crew, strong emotions, great music, great actors. The actors love their characters, and it shows! Here are some vids that I'm sure you'll enjoy, now that you've seen the whole thing. You don't have to react to this, but I'm sure you'll enjoy them :) - The official announcement of season 2 by Oda, the manga writer, with a teaser of a new character: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pJXN6MhF3js - Nami's official music video!!!!!!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_w_DXWWVbTU - The cast's reaction to the first teaser (they're so wholesome!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_VbpcQ7Q1u4 - Inaki (Luffy) meets Oda, the show's writer who never shows his face! "it's like meeting batman" ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ea6NieliCIU There are many more official videos out there, but these are my top picks. Enjoy :)

KarySky

Luffy and Buggy are the only people so far to have devil fruits so far, people like Garp and Mihawk are strong for different reasons.

Cube Pylum

You guys should really check out the Original Anime One Piece. You don’t have to react to it but. I highly recommend you check it out, the Anime is on Netflix as well. The Live Action One Piece is great but in the Anime they go into more depth and there is little more to the story.

Kiki Varas

I am not spoiling anything but as someone whos watched the anime and read the manga, not everyone has a devil fruit. They are EXTREMELY rare in this world. Devil fruit powers are also very obvious, so it is pretty much in your face when someone with these powers appear. A lot of people are just insanely strong in this world without a devil fruit. Love the content guys, big fan of the double drops!

snailtale

What? Another Badd holiday!! I have no words left, just thank you so much, guys! <3 Unbelievably good series with a fantastic crew of reactors

Auronix Light

Got the triple threat for after work today! Boys, then finishing One Piece! Because of the live action show I went back and resumed the anime! I was like 500-700 episodes in and stopped watching like 3-5 years ago, have been reluctant to resume because I forgot where I left off! Haha (for those wondering, I resumed right when the crew got to Dressrosa!). Can't wait until they come out with the season with my favorite crewmate, it's going to be SUPERRR!

Shane Kolaga

oh I'm so glad you guys went with the double drop for the finale :D now the wait begins for s2! lol

Anza

No way ! Double drop on today, of all days ! I took the PM off so it's PERFECT timing. I'll be watching this with you guys this afternoon. This makes my day. Can't wait ! Talk to you then ;)

KarySky

Baddmedicine is the real one piece

Conor Moriarty

Can’t wait to watch the One Piece reactions with you guys! Would you consider adding any kdramas to your list? A good starter one that was well received by many different types of viewers was Extraordinary Attorney Woo on Netflix. It follows the life of an autistic Korean woman who navigates the challenges of having autism while working in a law firm. Its a great drama with some comedy mixed in and no spoilers but very wholesome. Would highly recommend!
