EARLY ACCESS: Black Hawk Down FULL REACTION

Greetings everyone! We've opted for the Extended Version, and we hope that suits everyone's preferences. This version was accessible on Amazon Prime, and we thought it'd be interesting to give it a shot.

Director Ridley Scott's "Black Hawk Down" is a powerful war film that offers an unflinching look into the brutal realities of combat. Set during the intense Battle of Mogadishu in 1993, the film immerses you in the chaos and heroism of a U.S. military mission gone awry.

The movie boasts an ensemble cast of talented actors, a lot of them! Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor, and Eric Bana, just to name a few, who deliver outstanding performances that help us connect with the soldiers on the ground. Their camaraderie and fear are palpable, making the characters relatable and three-dimensional.

What truly sets "Black Hawk Down" apart is its relentless action sequences. The film's combat scenes are nothing short of harrowing, with the streets of Mogadishu becoming a chaotic battleground. Ridley Scott's direction, combined with masterful cinematography, pulls you into the heart of the conflict. The film doesn't shy away from the moral complexities of war. It raises important questions about the human cost of military operations and the sacrifices made by those on the front lines.

Hans Zimmer's haunting score adds emotional depth to the film, enhancing its impact. Black Hawk Down is a testament to the resilience and bravery of the soldiers involved, as well as a stark reminder of the harsh realities of combat. We highly recommend this film if you haven't seen it.

It's been so long since I saw this, I didn't realize our own Jaime Lannister is in this! Lol

I was a junior in high school when this went down and the controversy over it was all anyone talked about. Nothing but respect for the young men that were there. It hit hard being they were very close to my age. Amazing movie, thankfully they did leave some of the more gruesome details out.

Durant, the pilot that was captured, wrote a book sharing the details of this experience as well. It was very good. Tom Hardy was actually in Band of Brothers as well. That's a show I'd love to see you react too. Best WWII series ever.

Peter Morgan

Thanks for sharing your opinions ;) Of course they can do whatever they want and it's just nitpicking at the end of the day. They have one of the best channels out there, because they have a variety of different opinions. Also they don't shy away from saying if someone disliked something. Very valuable this perk is in our time :)

I don't think I ever appreciated the movie for what it was more, than when I watched it with y'all just now. I always forget how haunting and amazing this film is.

This is making me want to re-read it again. It's very well-written, and vividly captures how chaotic, ugly and unglamorous fighting is - I still remember the one sentence saying how one of the American vehicles ran over one of their own guys. It also devotes a lot more time to Mike Durant's captivity than the film does.

As a Vet that flew support into Somalia, I'd say this film is one of the more accurate depictions. Just throwing that out there. As for Eric Bana's character he's part of the Delta team, which is special forces for the Army, kinda the " Navy Seals" of the Army, they specialize in counter terrorism, Close quarter combat, hostage rescue, etc.

Different cuts of certain films aren't the easiest thing to access no matter what country you are in. If the general consensus amongst the film watching community is that a specific cut is better than another, then really, it's just the way it is. And sure, sometimes with certain reaction channels and with certain movies there's definitely too much talking and not enough listening, of course all of the fans of these films and tv shows are freaking out because they missed something that the fan didn't even notice until the 3rd or 4th watch. But everyone goes through the film watching process differently, and the odds are if they are talking a lot on camera, they would have talked a lot no matter what the case, so there's nothing we can do about that except pay for and view content that we care to see and not pay for and view the content that we don't want to see, which obviously you selected the former here as well friend, like the rest of us! So I'd kindly encourage you to grab a snack and a drink, and enjoy a movie with the guys!

Trey Nicholson

The book is definitely a must read.

How is it possible u guys never saw This movie? That's as shocking as Gladiator was

Kat M.

Good lord.

Iam in Germany and can't get the extended version without getting a hard copy at the moment. The normal version should always be simpler to access, for most people, so generally the better choice. If the extended version adds something very significant to the movie it's a different story. Because it's getting very excessive in movies like this, I wanna touch on actor talk a bit. Also I want to know if this is just my opinion alone. Question for the other cool supporters here ;) Talking about actors while the movie is playing adds nothing to the experience. Reactors missing a lot of stuff or just ruining the mood the movie tries to present. Talking about themes tackled in the movie Is never a problem because you show your understanding and thoughts about the presentation. But rambling minutes about what actor was in which role in whatever film is not really interesting for me while watching a movie / series. There is unlimited time for this talk before or after the movie if this is important for someone to point out. I want to immerse myself in the world where the movie takes part and rarely built a connection to the real world. Sure I would mention something like the camera work, fightscene, acting is great in this moment. I don't know if it's just a human thing to show of with knowledge. This is what it feels like most of the time. It's not a channel thing. Nearly every reaction channel does this and it annoys me personally. Maybe iam alone with this, but if someone wanna share an opinion about this feel free :)

This is a really good film with a lot of great actors. I highly recommend reading the book it's based on, which obviously offers way more details and information than what they were able to include in the film. You really get to know the men involved, even if they only appeared briefly on-screen.

Verity

Right around the time this came out, I was 100% certain that Eric Bana was going to be a mega-star. He's obviously had a solid career, but nowhere near what I expected.
