EARLY ACCESS: Gladiator FULL REACTION

Gladiator is a triumphant symphony of raw emotion and unrelenting action that roars with the might of ancient Rome itself. At its core, Gladiator is a soul-stirring odyssey that immerses us in the riveting journey of Maximus Decimus Meridius, a warrior betrayed and cast into the blood-soaked sands of the Colosseum. Russell Crowe ignites the screen with a performance that resonates in the very marrow of our bones. His Maximus is not just a character; he's a force of nature, an embodiment of valor and defiance.

The film's grandeur is an awe-inspiring tapestry that unfurls against the grandiosity of ancient Rome. From the opulent chambers of power to the gritty arenas of combat, every frame is a testament to the meticulous craftsmanship that fuels the magic of cinema. Hans Zimmer's score weaves an orchestral spell that entwines with our emotions, a crescendo of triumphs and sorrows. The cast and crew did a phenomenal job and Riddle Scott directed the heck out of this.

Joaquin Phoenix's Commodus is a venomous embodiment of unchecked power, a character that both repels and fascinates. The tug-of-war between Maximus and Commodus dances at the heart of the film, a struggle of ideals that sparks flames of righteousness against a canvas of corruption.

The combat sequences are just incredible. These scenes are not just battles; they are a symphony of steel and sweat that transport us into the heart of the arena, where every clash of swords reverberates through our souls. Gives us a reminder of Pro Wrestling just a bit. Loyalties are tested, sacrifices are made, and redemption becomes a consuming fire that propels us forward. Against the backdrop of an empire's splendor, the narrative paints an unforgettable portrait of the human spirit's unquenchable flame.

This is one of the most epic films to ever be made. Highly recommend it to anyone. Strength and honor to you all!

Wow, first time seeing Joaquine? I grew up watching him. Space Camp (he was a preteen), Parenthood. And many others as he grew up

Wow. This was a first watch for me as well and it was great. I can't believe this movie is over 20 years old! It holds up super well. There were so many good lines and speeches. It was really fun watching along with how excited Quinn, Oak and Answer were to be watching it again. I don't think it was over hyped at all :) Great reaction, as always.

Halestar

My Fiancée and I once sang the backings of the soundtrack with a symfonic orchestra in a 5000 people theatre. Unimaginable experience!

BobBro

This movie brings so many memories with my dad, we have probably watched it 1000 times and it is always amazing, great watching with you all!. Definitely in my top 3 of fav movies of all time as well and Im a 36 years old woman. Every line with "..but not yet" is just epic!.

Fernanda

My favorite movie but I prefer the theater cut, just like Terminator 2

TinCan Cosmanaut

Sadly couldn’t sync up bc they didn’t watch the extended version so weird they didn’t

Gregory Sambrano

Absolutely fantastic movie. Nothing more can be added on that front. Whenever I watch this, I enevitbely end up watching either "The Patriot" with Mel Gibson, The show "Rome" from HBO, or "Master and Commander." We haven't got a poll option in a while and I think historical drama/action poll would be a really fun one. Loved the reaction. Cant believe dave hadn't seen it. Also, I paid for the full year at the high level, but if theres a sub that will make the full Star Wars reaction happen, I'm in; seriously Answer?

Eric Wallace

Great movie! You must watch "The next three days". Another great Russel Crowe movie.

trunovelT

I’ve never seen this movie, but I hear about it all the time. Anytime I tell someone my dog’s name is Maximus they always say “oh like in gladiator” and every time I say “no, like in the horse in Tangled” lol

Christina

Master and Commander is literally my number 1 movie. For someone who loved naval history enough to join the Navy it hits all the right places and is an amazing adventure movie on top of it all. Can't recommend enough!

Dave Owen

My dad watches this movie EVERY weekend for the past like 8 years haha. He DVR'd it back when he first got a DVR and this movie has been on it ever since! My mom absolutely despises the movie because of how much he watches it! A nice refresh before the sequel they announced gets going!

Shane Kolaga

Yes! Let's gooo!! Easily one of the best films ever made. They didn't shy away from the brutality of war and Ancient Rome. Hans Zimmer (as always) killed it with the soundtrack. So many iconic lines in this film as well. Can't wait to watch y'all react to this movie. Here's some fun facts about this film! - They built a replica of the Colosseum on a 1/3rd scale which took 7 months and $1 million to build the 52 foot tall (16 meters) structure. - Yes that was a real burning forest in the beginning of the film! The forest was scheduled for deforestation and Ridley Scott took the opportunity to contact the Royal Forestry Commission to collaborate with burning down the forest and filming there by offering them his facilities to (quite literally) burn the forest to the ground. - One of Joaquin's most iconic lines (or should I say scream in this case) "Am I not merciful?" was ad-libbed and actually frightened Connie Nielsen. Her expression in that scene was 100% a genuine reaction. - Quite a few of the injuries we see on Maximus are real including the stitches on his face during the opening which were a result of his horse being startled and backing up into some tree branches. - Over 27,000 pieces of armor were made for this film. - The movie was filmed in chronological order.

Your next Russell Crowe move should definitely be master and commander (2003)
