SmartSim A new add-on to Work

How many times have you wondered what your Sim's workday was like? Well, if you've never asked yourself that question, maybe it's a sign that your workday routine has been... at best, pleasant!

Of course, here I am to change that. See, it's not that I'm sadistic, I just enjoy when reality and fiction blend together in The Sims 3 simulation. No beating around the bush, this is an add-on that can be used independently for my Smart Sim mod. What it basically does is make the work routine a little more... "Exhausting," or in other words: Stressful, realistic, overwhelming, but at the same time, magical!

Let me tell you a story that happened with my Rock Star (who still hasn’t reached the top of their career).

When he was around level 8, I thought of throwing a massive birthday party with his best friends from work—his colleagues, partners, the only friends this guy has ever had. It was a huge disappointment when none of them showed up to my party. His house is the one on the left (no floor, just a single room with bathroom, kitchen, living room and integrated bathroom)

I mean, he’d give his soul to the band. He embraced every opportunity to stay late, to fulfill any external opportunity offered to him... so you can imagine how he felt, right?

Yep, terrible. However, when he arrived at work, his colleagues had purposely skipped his party because they had thrown a surprise party for him! I couldn’t believe it. It was unbelievable. These Sims really surprise me.

So, what does all this have to do with this mod? By making the routine more challenging, more stressful, more overwhelming, just like in real life, it's not uncommon to forget why we do what we do. Why we care, why we dedicate ourselves.

But moments like this make it all make sense. If progression were easy, fast, and smooth, would I have cared about it? Doubt it. What this mod does is simple, but it’s the kind of simple that brings meaning.

When combined with SmartSim, this mod will make progress slightly more challenging, highly more stressful, and require more emotional maintenance for your Sims. But well... isn’t that what emotions are for in The Sims 3, after all?

The same thing that brings more challenge also brings more opportunity because friendships take on new meaning in the professional environment. I hope this mod contributes to your gameplay just like it did for mine. It’s simple, but meaningful.

Here's an extra bit of information: I suspect that this grumpy lady was the one behind the idea of not going to the birthday party and organizing a party at the theater instead. She's his neighbor and has a peculiar sense of humor, to put it mildly... Grumpy and ill-intentioned. However, deep down, she has a good heart.
