It is with great enthusiasm that I present to you the most detailed and faithful recreation of Oldtown — a true tribute to the starting point of so many Sims players, now revived, renewed, and more captivating than ever!
This project was a fast-paced, intense, and ambitious journey. It all began with the question: "Is it possible to create an entire neighborhood in just one day?" Then I thought, "What if I did it in 5 hours?" And that's exactly what I did. In just 5 hours, we channeled all our passion and skill to bring back a neighborhood that holds deep memories for many of us.
Oldtown holds a strong emotional connection for The Sims fans, being the foundational neighborhood of the series’ first game. Many of us took our first steps in The Sims here, discovering possibilities, experimenting with narratives, and developing a love for the game. Choosing Oldtown for this project was special, as it symbolizes that “first home” we all remember. Recreating this space is not just about nostalgia; it’s about expanding and elevating the potential of what this neighborhood can be, with a level of detail the original version never had.

Get ready to explore Oldtown like you’ve never seen it before! Imagine streams flowing naturally down the mountains, integrated into the landscape without artificial effects. We created precisely flowing rivers, lush and varied vegetation, mountains sculpted by nature, and a lot layout that preserves a sense of community. Oldtown is now a vibrant, lively setting, designed to give Sims a closer experience of community and interaction.
The map was developed in record time: 5 hours to structure the neighborhood’s base and another 5 for the lots and finishing touches, totaling just 10 hours! Every detail was crafted with a careful, passionate eye. It was an immersive experience, with every minute contributing to a refinement that many worlds lack even after years of work. The challenge of creating something so detailed and cohesive in such a short time served as a powerful reminder of what’s possible when working with purpose and passion. Our goal was to build a small world (512x512) fully focused on The Sims 1 base game version.
This version of Oldtown provides an even more authentic experience, where every space invites players to explore and discover. Whether wandering along the stream banks, strolling through the streets, or visiting the small homes that make up the heart of this neighborhood, there’s a feeling of novelty along with comfort. Oldtown is not just a place for your Sims to live — it’s a backdrop for stories, a stage for emotions, and a home that welcomes both nostalgia and innovation.
This is a reimagination, not an exact copy, so you’ll see familiar places but with completely new looks! Did this neighborhood happen before or after The Sims 1? It’s up to you to decide!
Special thanks to all our supporters on YouTube's Member Club and Patreon; without their support, it would not have been possible to take on this challenge in such a short time. If you like my work and would like to follow more closely and support me, feel free to join us.

I can’t wait to see how you explore Oldtown and what you discover in every detail! It’s time to return to where it all began, but with a fresh, deeper, and more engaging perspective. Download Oldtown now and get ready for a new journey in a Sims classic, completely reimagined. Pay attention to the instructions below, and see you in Oldtown!
World Information:
This is a Small-sized world (512x512)
The world has 20 lots (8 residential and 12 community lots)
Optimized routing to reduce/eliminate routing failures
The neighborhood file is in ".world" format and must be installed carefully. Extract the file to the game directory, typically: C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Sims 3\GameData\Shared\NonPackaged\Worlds
(The directory may vary depending on your installation)
Then, extract the contents of the "Mods Oldtown" folder into your Mods folder. This folder contains items used in creating the neighborhood and is NECESSARY for it to function fully. Additionally, you must download and install the following set:
Note: Installing the neighborhood without following these recommendations will result in misplaced elements on the map. Therefore, FOLLOW the suggestions as directed.
Highly recommended (but not required):
For your game to resemble the visuals in the above images, it is highly recommended that you combine my Reshade Set with the Ethereal Glow mod; otherwise, the color palette and effects will differ significantly from what you see in the images above.
If, for any reason, you are not interested in using reshade/gshade, I recommend at least replacing your current lighting mod with The Sims 3 Beta Lighting Mod, which enhances your game’s visual fidelity without sacrificing performance, making everything even more beautiful and visually captivating.
