EARLY ACCESS: Inception FULL REACTION

Inception, directed by Christopher Nolan, is a thrilling yet complex film. The film is a true mind-bender that keeps you engaged from start to finish. The action sequences are intense and imaginative, making great use of the dream landscape to create truly unique set pieces.

The performances in Inception are fantastic, with DiCaprio delivering a nuanced and emotional performance as Cobb. The supporting cast, including Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Elliot Page, Tom Hardy, Ken Watanabe, and Marion Cotillard, are all excellent and bring depth and complexity to their characters.

The score, composed by Hans Zimmer, is also a standout element of the film. The score is tense and dramatic, perfectly matching the action on screen and heightening the overall tension and excitement of the film. Just perfection really.

Overall, Inception is a must see and rewatch. Loved it.

You tell us..... what is your reaction and thoughts about that ending???

I am new here, but after watching your 10 Things I Hate About You reaction, and this, I am already loving this channel! Just like Oak always looks for meaning and lessons, I always look for metaphors when I watch movies, and this to me is a story about fimmaking itself. Can a movie plant an idea in your head? Change your mind? Well, since the original Top Gun led to a 500% increase in naval recruiting, I guess the answer is yes! But, like Nolan says here, you need to be subtle. You need a director (DiCaprio) to assemble a team of a screenwriter to imagine new scenarios (Eliot Page), a producer to bring in resources (Gordon-Levitt), and actors to move the action forward (Tom Hardy). You need to try to get to the deepest layer of what the story really means (the father-son relationship), and not stay in the most obvious and superficial tropes (the company ownership). You will inevitably bring your own issues and hangups to the story (Mal, the way women are always treacherous in all of Nolan's movies), but you should try to keep them in check so that they don't take over and derail the connection with the audience. The audience will also bring their own subconscious to the story and fill in the gaps, so you need to factor that in your work.... It's not for nothing that Hollywood is "the place where dreams are made", right?

The Oak is amazing! lol "It was wobbling, You heard the wobble! You saw the wobble!"

Kendal Cowart

Some of the guys were out of town hopefully in the next 2 days we will get one out.

Badd Medicine

I feel like any Nolan film no matter how many times you watch it you can still catch some things.

Badd Medicine

That hallway scene was awesome!

Badd Medicine

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Badd Medicine

The ocean films are on the list 🤘

Badd Medicine

What an amazing movie. I just watched it with you guys for the first time as well... and wow... I loved it. I immediately googled the ending and was not disappointed. Hahahaha.

Tito

Youve got to do oceans 11!

Eric Wallace

The hallway fight scene is incredible and such a great feat of filmmaking. That was a huge practical set that they made and rotated while JGL had a harness on and he was doing those stunts himself. Theres a great BTS on YouTube of how they did it. I love so many of the practical effects in this movie instead of using CGI. Also the Hans Zimmer score is immaculate.

Dannielle

Watching this movie for the like 7th time... it's just too good... I caught so many nuances that I forgot about from the previous watch through. Glad you all enjoyed it! 😁

romaiiiii

Idk if you guys saw. But The ballad of song birds and snakes trailer dropped. Wondering if you're doing a reaction?

Ana

Boom!

Badd Medicine

Oceans films are indeed on the list :)

Badd Medicine

That is on the list :)

Badd Medicine

Interesting. Might have to rewatch.

This film had an interesting concept. Typically, Nolan has some complexity to his stories, but the ending is great guess one could be right with their perspective or could be wrong.

I was obsessed with this when it came out, I absolutely loved it! I also thought they did great explaining what was going on so I thought it was very easy to follow along, especially as you thought about how your own dreams work, like they pointed out, you’re plopped into the middle of the dream or the show Always Sunny, which is going on 16 seasons deep now, was conceived thanks to a dream. I think the concept was great! I’m probably going to have to go watch Warrior next cause I also really love Tom Hardy & want to watch more of him now.

Dee

Ok I've watched it......could've been 45 minutes shorter. I think that's why I've never seen it in full until now. For me, it does not hold my attention to warrent the runtime. The music was good, but it was never ending and exhausting I can get how and why people love this, but I can officially say, Inception just inst for me But I enjoyed the Friday night company

Big theory is how the top is his wife's totem not his. So it wouldn't work for him anyways. What I heard is his wedding ring is his totem and you have to watch for when it's on and not on.

Mike

Thats awesome

The wait for this felt like an eternity from when ya'll first announced it. I do agree with Oak that sometimes the complexity of a movie can interfere with the enjoyment of it, and I think that it's a sliding scale depending on each individual. I personally love puzzles, so watching movies like Inception or Arrival is great because it makes me want to re-watch so I can catch every nuance of the puzzle. On the other hand, I'm really not a fan of things making you want to re-watch because it's a feast for the eyes. Movies like Ready Player One or even The Super Mario Bros Movie are so full of references in every frame, that it often feels like the movie suffers because it's relying on the references like a crutch. That being said, the Mario movie turned out to be as good as I'd expect, though I do hope they tone down all the references and Easter eggs in future movies now that they got it out of their system. I really hope you guys do watch the Ocean's movies. I disagree with Answer on the quality of them. I think 12 and 13 are in a similar ballpark of quality as 11 is, and 13 is my personal favorite of the three. Also, since we're watching Christopher Nolan movies, you guys should really watch The Prestige. I'm sure you'll love it. I also personally recommend The Devil All the Time.

Marco Gutierrez

for me, this is one of the greatest movies that exist.. glad you enjoyed it!

merve

Great way to put it. And this sounds track is epic!

Badd Medicine

I love the ending and all the theories about it, beginning with "it wobbles vs it didn't fall" from "yeah but the kids are still the same age, si it must be a dream?" over to the theory he never woke up from deep dreaming with the new juicyjuice in yussufs cellar (bc we never saw him using the totem after that successfully, as he was interrupted in the bathroom)..ah all these incredible theories and all of them could be true and wrong at the same time ^^ Hans Zimmer always deliveres and as a big Ken Watanabe Fan (such a charismatic person) I am in awe with this movie

Lirryk

Oh and yes, it would be awesome if you watched the Ocean films, been ages since I saw them. And personally I think they're all really good!

JiaHailstorm

This was such a good watch and reaction! Been quite a while since I saw it (Prob the 3rd or 4th time I've seen it now). I love it as much every time, and get as invested as I always do. When it comes to the ending I remember thinking he got lost down there. Or that was my conclusion back then. Now rewatching this I'm not so sure I feel the same way. He seemed quite honest in his perception of what was real, and seemed quite determined to save Saito. So I think he would have the skills to get out of there together with Saito. But I still am a little bit unsure. That ending just really wants you to question if the ending was real or if it still was a dream. So it makes me continue to go back and forth. It's also hard seeing that he would finally give up on Mal, or forgiving himself, when the entire movie he seemed obsessed with her still. But I can also see that Ariadne forced him to face what was happening so much so that he realized that something needed to change for him to go back to his kids. So yea, I think I'm leaning more on that he got out. But man, those dream worlds really make an impact on me every time. They seem so deep and vast and scary. You can so easily get lost there and forget yourself. In a dream you can be whatever you want to be, and that can sometimes be more tempting than staying connected to the real world. There was a time as a teenager I was lost in the books I read and the movies I watched that I got out of touch with reality. So I think this movie brings back thoughts I had back then. Anyway, I think I'm done rambling. It's a great movie which makes you think, or it can also be a simple movie if you want it to be. I guess it depends on how deep one wants do dive into it.

JiaHailstorm

the BTS for the Hallway Fight is a great watch, on how they did it, took like 3-4 weeks, a month, something like that, just for that scene alone. a lot of choreography, practice, teamwork, everyone from actor to set crew working insync to make it work. I really enjoyed this film, I think Shutter Island with Leo( And Mark Ruffalo plus more big names), by Martin Scorsese, also came out right around the time Inception came out, so we had 2, questioning what we know, movies he starred in that year. ( I really like that movie too, def recommend if you haven't watched it yet)

Anza

I've never been able to watch this in full. I've seen it in full, in peices, over time. But idk, I guess I "don't like the movie" However, I'm excited to watch with you guys. At minimum I'll be able to say I've watched it start to finish in one session. Maybe, I'd be lucky enough to even like it, even if it's only because i enjoyed watching it with yall!

Isis Peoples

You guys totally should watch Oceans

Eryn Young

Great reaction as always! Now I need you guys to watch the Prestige and Ocean’s Eleven!

Anya and Patrick

I only saw this once before but thankfully understood it much better this time. It was a lot of fun watching with you guys. My all-time favorite Christopher Nolan movie has to be Memento(2000) with Guy Pearce. Even then he had a super innovative way of telling stories. I'd love to watch with you guys if you haven't seen it already. Keep up the awesome content!

Jessie

I was WOBBLING!!! 😂

Jessie

Great movie, last time i saw it was 13 years ago. Sad ending though. :)

James Ventola

I loved this reaction! This is a fantastic reaction, and anything with Zimmer for composing is terrific! Also, you guys need to watch the oceans movies. For my family, they are documentaries, and I love them so much!

Abigail.M

Just wanted to comment and say how much I enjoy your guy's reactions. I found you guys from your Potter reactions (which were amazing btw). I'm 16 (prob a bit younger than your avg audience), look forward to continue watching your reactions!

Plebcy

Yesss this movie is so good! Can't wait to chill with this reaction in about an hour with some popcorn and snacks!

JiaHailstorm

Yas! 🥳 This is one of my all time favorite movies. I can't count how often I watched already, but I'm definitely ready to watch it again.

Jasmin

I love this movie - its unique in so many ways imo. Such a mindbender! Can't wait to see you guys watch it :) have a good weekend!

SilverDoe🎔

Warrior is such a good movie. I remember when it was released, I only ever heard about it through ads that ran constantly on ESPN Radio on my way to and from work, so I just assumed it was gonna be a terrible, low budget movie. Saw it in the theater and absolutely loved it.

Jeff K

Dream a little bigger darling.

LoriFreckles

Ooo can’t wait to hear them debate about the ending. I still don’t know if I think it was real or not.

Manny D.

speaking of Tom Hardy, the movie Warrior is quite good if it hasn't been seen.

db

If you like Christopher Nolan movies check out The Prestige, I think it's his best.

Braden

SOOO GOOOD

Zach

Oh for real? Which line?

Badd Medicine

My favorite movie. I have a Tom Hardy line tattooed on me from this movie.
