Classic Sunset: A New Reality in Just 6 Days!

Guys, what an incredible week! I'm so proud to share with you a glimpse of the creative process behind Classic Sunset – a project that has already filled me with enthusiasm, growing from an idea to a reality in just six days! Yes, you read that right: six days!

It all started with Grandma’s house. I thought it’d be fun to start a new gameplay in OldSunset, but this time with the world completely empty. I figured that by turning the 210 lots into restricted visitor lots, Sims would be prevented from frequenting or living in these places. I was wrong. They started inviting each other on dates in restricted lots!

My Sims are cheeky! This made me realize (yet again) that OldSunset can’t be optimized – unless I deleted the lots. So, faced with the choice to delete or start fresh, I began Classic Sunset, this time remembering to be less ambitious and to focus on the ideal that inspired Sunset Valley in the first place. I'm so proud!

One of the things that fills me with the most pride is how much my vision and ideals have evolved since 2021. The GIF below shows how I used to be maximalist, relying heavily on tons of content, and now I’ve done everything you’re seeing with just the base game! It’s amazing!

It’s been an intense journey of dedication and energy, where every detail, every adjustment, and every color played a part in transforming the vision into something tangible. I tested the colors of the trees, terrains, and shrubs hundreds of times until I achieved what I wanted, and here we are.

I even adjusted my lighting mod. In such a short time, I managed to bring the full essence of "Classic Sunset" into the game – an idealized version of what Sunset Valley might have been if it had continued from the original beta concept we all fell in love with. Every element I envisioned, every detail I wanted to bring to you… I didn’t do this alone! In fact, we covered the entire development in live streams on our YouTube channel!

The help from our subscribers was indispensable, guiding me in deciding on small but important elements that were kept or modified. Together, we’ve built the foundation of this project, which is already becoming one of my most exciting works so far.
