Steve Carell delivers a standout performance as Cal, a middle-aged man trying to navigate life after his marriage falls apart. His character is both relatable and endearing, and you can't help but root for him throughout the film. Ryan Gosling is equally impressive who takes Cal under his wing. His charm and charisma are off the charts, and he brings a much-needed edge to the rom-com genre.
And then you have Emma Stone, who's as charming as ever. Her chemistry with Gosling is electric, and their banter is so quick-witted. Julianne Moore is fantastic in this. She plays Carell's soon-to-be-ex-wife, and her comedic timing is on point. You have a 13-year-old boy in love with his babysitter, a twist we did not see coming there in the film..... you know what part. Also Kevin Bacon and everyone else was just amazing in this too! Just an awesome film! Thank you all for this!

I love the way they decided to make Jacob and Hannahs characters connect, the way she just got him to tell her everything about himself when that is his number one rule really drove the whole scene home.

I was totally surprised to learn about the connection between Cal and Hannah. I think the babysitter’s crush on Cal was a perfectly normal thing. Teen girls can develop crushes on adult men. I had a slight crush on a male teacher when I was 12. Crazy, stupid hormones. 😛 It would have been a very different movie if Cal returned the feelings and I am glad they didn’t go there.

I also have a suggestion regarding these kind of rom-coms, you should reeeeally watch "Silver linings playbook" with Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence from 2012 if you haven't seen it! Has the same kind of humor almost but also with a special love story of two people with different disorders (don't wanna spoil it even more if you haven't seen it). It is amazing and to see you react to it aswell would be AMAZING!

2023-04-14 18:50:36 +0000 UTCI loveeeee this movie, so fun and entertaining. The duo between Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell is GOLD For me though, cheating voluntarily is unforgivable. I wouldn't be able to trust my SO after that, especially knowing that instead of talking it out, they chose the easy way out and chose to hurt you, a person you supposedly "love". But, I do respect that some people like Steve might be okay with that, especially if there are kids and other variables at play Really glad you guys enjoyed this movie !!
