EARLY ACCESS: How To Train You Dragon 3 FULL REACTION

How to Train Your Dragon 3... this film takes everything that was great about the previous movies and elevates it to new heights. The animation in this film is nothing short of breathtaking. The character designs, particularly those of the dragons, are both realistic and fantastical, making them feel like true living creatures with personalities and quirks all their own.

Of course, the voice cast is also a major reason for the film's success. Jay Baruchel delivers another fantastic performance as Hiccup, bringing both humor and heart to the role. America Ferrera and Cate Blanchett are equally impressive, infusing their characters with depth and emotion. The supporting cast, including Jonah Hill, Kristen Wiig, and Kit Harington, also deserve recognition for their fantastic work

How to Train Your Dragon 3 deals with mature themes of letting go, growing up, and the bonds of friendship, all while maintaining a sense of wonder and magic. Truly, well done! Bravo to all involved! Thank you all for recommending this!

What was your reaction? Best trilogy ever for animation?

I didn't remember this movie made me cry so much... ! Oh my gosh. As for the ending, when Hiccup says that Berkians are waiting for the right moment to bring back the dragons, I don't see it as an opening for another movie, but rather like a message to our present IRL selves. A message of hope that maybe, one day, we will have dragons. I think it's a very endearing idea for kids, to imagine that dragons might come back :)

Man I'm glad I decided to jump in on movie 2 and 3, I have seen the first and not doing much research when movie 2 and 3 came out I just assumed they were meh since none of my family went to see them and never saw the last two movies. Movie 2 and 3 were awesome, glad I watched them. Definitely in my recommended list now (for all 3 movies).

romaiiiii

Hiccup has braids in the last movie as well. I liked how nicely their animation ages him, the 5 years from the first to second movie, then much more at the end of the third. This was my first watch of this movie. I enjoyed it. I think the second is my favorite in this trilogy. As per the discussion of letting pets loose in the wild, it made me think of a news story I saw a few days ago about Minnesota state troopers finding a bunny abandoned on the side of the road. Sometimes setting animals free is not good if they can’t survive in the wild, fortunately that cute bunny was rescued… https://www.wftv.com/news/trending/minnesota-troopers-rescue-bunny-found-along-side-highway/7NMRFPYQZBC5TAXUT2QQJJI5DY/ I would think setting the dragons free in this movie, even if they were domesticated, would be fine since they left for a land of dragons where they should be safe and thrive. 😎

Ginger

Yes! Definitely Rise of the Guardians. That's a frequent re-watch for me (oddly enough I like to pair it with The Holiday). It's been some years since I saw Spirit but that would be awesome, too.

Heathwitch

Thank you for another fantastic reaction. This whole series is the best animated trilogy of all time, and I'm so glad you reacted to it. You may want to try some of the other short films/TV shows set in the same universe -- a complete timeline/watch list can be found here: https://www.imdb.com/list/ls020816781/ I saw all these movies in the cinema, and it was amazing to see the characters exploring Hidden World on the big screen, with all the fantastic lighting and detail. No matter how many times I rewatch this trilogy, each of makes me cry and it's especially this one: right from when they say goodbye to their dragons to the end credits, I'm in tears and my heart aches. The other dragon film that has done that to me is DragonHeart from 1996, which I think I've suggested before as something to react to. :) I also think that this last movie is a good lesson about death, too. Watching this a few months after losing two of my cats, it's hit me harder in the feels this time, especially as we had to make the decision to guide them over to the other side. This film is a good metaphor for that, I feel. I love anything with dragons and I will leave you with one of my favourite dragon quotes: “The skies of this world were always meant to have dragons. When they are not there, humans miss them. Some never think of them, of course. But some children, from the time they are small, they look up at a blue summer sky and watch for something that never comes. Because they know.” ~ Robin Hobb (The Golden Fool, p558).

Heathwitch

i agree with this so much !! what a fantastic movie

aureo

Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron 2002 is a must, i will recommend this everytime i watch something, I won't give up.

Imnomoon

Rise of the guardians is a MASTERPIECE on its own!!! Great suggestion! 😍 would love seeing the gang react to it 🥹

Nadine

BOTH! YES! And Spirit is just...wow. I would love to see them react to those.

Sarah

Loved joining you guys for this trilogy. I cried during the like last half of it because I knew Toothless and the dragons would be leaving. You see Hiccup and Astrid reunite with them years later but the dragons do stay gone. So it just breaks my heart everytime. There is no more sequels to the story and has never been talk of anymore as this was meant to be the last film of the series. Though I've heard there may be a live action adaptation coming but sometime down the road yet. Thank you guys for reacting and I love your discussion afterwards. You always have great insights.

Sarah

I loved this reaction!!!! Oak got emotional in 2 and Answer got emotional in 3. HTTYD is one of my most favorite animated trilogies. I am a sucker for movies that make me cry!!! Toy Story 3 wrecked me too!!! Ihaven’t heard of any more releases of a 4th movie but if you guys need more HTTYD content Netflix has 3 different TV series that have our beloved cast in them. So feel free to check that out too. I can’t wait for y’all to dive more into some more animated films. Being a mom, I have fallen in love with animation so I hope you guys can continue to find the awesomeness in animation. Thanks for your awesome reactions. ❤️❤️❤️

Chatlie Moore

Awesome trilogy and so happy I got to watch it with you guys! :D

Ivan Rasmussen

Lol I completely get it. Me personally i enjoyed it, but it certainly had flaws.

Steven K

Oh yes, I love these two movies! Would be great to see reaction to them.

Tetiana Revenko

I love this sooo much! It is so great to see light fury and their relationship with Toothles, the dance he did is hilarious. The hidden world is like paradise for dragons. And the topic of letting go hits me hard every time. It is difficult to let go, but what is easy is not always right. Everything about this movie, well same as previous two, is incredible. I am glad that you like it as much as we do :)

Tetiana Revenko

I will forever love this series! I remember going to the theaters with my little brothers when this one came out and there wasn't a dry eye in the room at the end. Maybe you guys can check out Rise of the Guardians or Spirit Stallion of the Cimarron?

Emilysr97

Not an animated movie but you guys should watch the Paddington movies. There are only two of them but they are both phenomenal movies with great filmmaking and a lot of heart.

Dannielle

The first one is good, the second one I would not recommend :x

Cinderkit5

Hey guys sorry to do this again but i just remembered another movie that I’ve just gotta recommend you add to your list if it hasn’t already been recommended. Cant stress enough how much the Wreck it Ralph movies are worth checking out. Another great cast as well. I know yall would absolutely love them!

Steven K

HTTYD was always written as a trilogy, so I’m not sure they’d go for a 4th film. Always possible though!

Trey

Best animated trilogy BY FAR, it gives the same sense of 'coming of age' as the Harry Potter franchise (only a couple movies fewer hehe), at least for our generation that 'grew up' along side each release of these movies and their characters and the development of it all. Just plainly an outstanding work from Dreamworks!

Nadine

Now star wars🤧

Marquis keel

While Drago is a great villain that we just love to hate, I find Grimmel a very interesting villain as well. He acts as a double to Hiccup, showing what could have been Hiccup's fate, had he chosen to kill Toothless in the first movie. Both Hiccup and Grimmel are not sturdy and strong warrior types such as Stoick and Drago, but they are very intelligent, resourceful, and inventive. While Drago is a product of tragedy and is presented as a madman, Grimmel is a product of society and always makes level-headed and "logical" decisions, making him eerie rather than right-out scary. Thank you for the reaction! When watching reactions of your favourite movies, it is almost like experiencing them again for the first time <3

Lafawnduh!

So glad you guys loved the series , a bit of a FYI , the actual name for toothless’s babies is “night lights” !

Desi

You should check Gift of the Night Fury. It's a holiday short film set after the first film.

Jennifer Hickman

dont know if you noticed but in the hidden world you catch a glimpse of the bad alpha from the 2nd film with the broken tusk

Sam Harris

Oh yes I would also love to see this reaction

Celine

Shrek is my fav, for nostalgia, Kung fu panda, But this trilogy is definitely one of the best I have to say.

SilverDoe🎔

def looking forward to this! 😊 i hope inside out will hopefully be on the schedule soon <3

stephanie

Yes please omg best trilogy !

Ashley

Yes I've been waiting for this one! It does such a good job of rounding out the story and making the whole trilogy feel like a complete journey. I don't know another trilogy or movie series that executes the full story feel like such a perfect arc for all of the characters. This also has the most aggressively bittersweet ending I've ever experienced lol

Vernon Ingram

Will you watch How to train your Dragon: Homecoming? It is a short film set 10 years after this film. A little prequel before the ending with the kids meeting Toothless and his family. It’s really cute and funny. 🤗

Andreja Vladic

Yes I've been waiting! :D Have my tissues ready so LETS GO

Hannah Forster

Hopefully the HD is in full effect for you then 🤙

Badd Medicine

I'll be watching tonight after work! Or whenever it's ready if not by then lol Such a great animated trilogy ♡

Sarah

That is on the list for us to check out

Badd Medicine

I'd say this and Kung-Fu Panda are the best animated trilogies. I couldn't pick between them, though.

Culper (Lukas)

Hope you enjoy! 😁🤙
