Me (9 at the time), my dad and brother (12) caught up with the show near the end of Season 2 and it became the show we watched together every week till the end. Easily the top 5 if not the best show that I have ever watched. Glad you all enjoyed it.

I am so happy that you guys enjoyed this show as much as me. It truly makes me happy seeing other people share my feelings about a show that(was not only from my childhood) but WAS my childhood. Though, funnily enough, I only ever was able to catch reruns. Also, something cool, Not only did Jason Isaacs play Lucious Malfoy, voice Admiral Zhao, but he also voiced the Grand Inquisitor in Star Wars Rebels. Which until you guys pointed it out, I didn't realize it was Jason Isaacs.

The wonderful use of Chinese martial arts to control the elements works so perfectly gor fight scenes and the story and lessons continue to be relevant and hold weight, and it's a cartoon! Now you guys can move on to the next Avatar, Korra, who i relate to so much!

We never missed an episode and I will never forget how magical the experience was. Also Netflix has been working on a live action show for the last few year, it has a bigger budget than Game of Thrones I believe. Everyone is holding their breath to see if they can pull it off!

2023-04-06 17:48:21 +0000 UTCThere is an interesting study on ATLA soundtrack on youtube I saw once, it is trully a masterpiece considering it was doen in half a day or so each time weekly without getting full storylines or episodes to see beforehand and at that time with that budget, I think it's some of the most iconic tv music ever done to date, the sounds are all so distinctive and wonderfully done.

I literally participated in a whole TP and egging houses battle at school between the 2 shipper factions of the time.

They show what happends in between the episodes and what happens afterwards. I know you hate Azula but i will always feel bad for her, i think you'll come to understand why, the longer you're in this 'fandom'. From the moment her father saw she was a prodigy, he favoured her and gave her all of the attention. Zuko and Azula's mom (Ursa) saw what happened and gave Zuko extra attention. Azula saw what she did and tried to live up to her fathers expectations. He created the person she became. Im not saying she wasnt bad from birth. But because Zuko received the love from his mom and afterwards, the love, help and wisdom from Uncle Iroh, he was able to become a good person. Without Iroh he would never have been the person he is at the end. Azula never received any kind of love. She was raised by her father to control people by fear and was taught that becoming powerful and intimidating was very important, filling her mind with evil and ridiculous ideas. Again, not to pity her but if she would have received any kind of love and support Zuko had, she could have become a different person. At the ending she felt betrayed by her only friends and totally lost it. The ending where she is chained up and cries always makes me emotional. Though she deserved what she got, her story is sad just like Zuko's is.

There's a video out from the stunt team - that they did in their spare -time- showing preconceptions of earth bending with a Toph stand in. Even that was amazing. I'm stoked! I think they're type lipped because Netflix is expecting it to explode like Stranger Things, Squid Games, or Wednesday.

The original creators were on board for a bit but dropped off for some reason. But the live action by Netflix is still on the way!!! Hopefully theyโll do it well. That show has been going so strong and it's probably the only show I've seen them make that I consider done right. Otherwise yes, they usually crash and burn things, but we will have to see how it turns out. I've seen a lot of affirmation type comments from different cast members involved saying the production involved are true fans of the show so I hope that means they will be doing it justice.

Even before that point, I didnโt really like the show. I did not feel a connection or liking for any of the characters.

I think the music in the series is fantastic and moreso in the four part finale, especially the music during the fight scenes between Zuko and Azula. The finale is epic and what makes the series as phenomenal as it is. I never thought to compare the lion turtle with Morla in The Neverending Story.

Roku said be decisive, don't kick the can down the road or it will get worse. Kurek said actively shape your own destiny, don't let others shape it for you. Yengchen said don't take anything off the table like killing. keep yourself open to possibilities. But Kyoshi's advice was my favorite. Only justice brings peace. Only the avatar can end this conflict. Iroh can't. Zuko cant. remember, there were plenty of fire lord sympathizers in the fire nation. The avatar is the balance. he/she is the referee. their call is legitimate. Aang ending oozai's reign was literally the most moral way to end the 100 year war.

2023-04-04 23:34:38 +0000 UTCThere are so many great moments but my favorite ones would be: -Toph teaching herself to metalbend -Aang and Zuko doing the dragon dance with the two masters (the last dragons) -When Aang, Katara, Sokka and Toph invaded the Earth Kingdom to try to talk to the king (the fight/the bending/everything) -Katara fighting Hama and learning to bloodbend -Katara facing her mom's killer and doing the right thing -Sokka learning from the swordmaster and making his own space sword. -When the Kyoshi Warriors found Appa and took care of him and made sure he escaped Azula to finally reunite with Aang -All of Uncle Iroh's lessons and wisdom It was amazing to go on this journey again, with you guys. I'm a bit sad it's over but it's such a feel good series that wrapped up perfectly. I can't wait for you guys to get into The Legend of Korra, but also, I'm excited for Arcane eventually. I cringe just thinking of the fact you guys are going to watch the Live Action Avatar movie lmao. I can't wait to see your reaction.

They've butchered the Witcher, butchered Shadow and Bone, butchered Stranger Things, butchered 13 Reasons Why, and so many other series'. I'm glad to see that you guys shared some of my thoughts on the finale as well. There are two big errors that I think we're made with this show, and both of them were in this group of episodes. One being the decision to make energybending be a thing instead of forcing Aang to learn the lesson that sometimes you have to sacrifice what you want to do what you need. The other was him magically getting the avatar state back just because he was hit in just the right spot. Ultimately, for me both of these stem from the same place: avoiding the consequences of their actions. Aang made so many bad decisions previously like deciding to hold on to Katara instead of focusing on his duty to the world, and yet he never has to pay for these bad decisions. Despite all of this, I don't think the series was ruined. It just wasn't as good as it could have been

2023-04-04 22:32:21 +0000 UTCI watched Avatar The Last Airbender as a wee little child growing up and never did I think as a child this series would have such an impact in my adult life. I have learned a great deal of life lessons within this series and through all the reactors that I have rewatched it with. Now in my late 20's I can easily say I have rewatched this series over 50 times and I feel every single emotion that a person can feel every time. Thank you so much or reacting to this series and giving me another excuse to rewatch it again! Here a few of my thoughts/easter eggs: 1. My thoughts on the Lion Turtle and the ability to bend some ones energy: No matter what all the countless past avatars told him, Aang stayed strong in his resolve to not take a life. Because of this the lion turtle saw him as worthy seeing as he wasn't willing to give in. The past avatars kept telling him that if they had acted sooner they wouldn't have lost something. So basically they regretted not taking action, however Aang was someone who no matter what Firelord Ozai did, it didn't change or bend his morals and make him think like "I should have killed him off sooner." He kept true to himself and it's his unbendable and uncorruptable spirit and dedication to his beliefs which is why I feel like Aang had earned the turtle's unbendable technique. 2. When aang's scar hit the rock, it unlocked the chakra that wasn't letting him go into the avatar state. I always appreciated the moment where Aang takes control of the Avatar state saying he doesn't want to end it "like this" meaning with violence and Ozai calls him weak. There's something really powerful and beautiful in Aang staying true to the teachings of the Air Nomads to end the 100 year war that started with the genocide of the Air Nomads and their culture. He is the last true Air bender and it was their way of life that ends the war peacefully and creates a smooth transition of power. 3. Zuko and Aang both have lightning wounds from Azula. Aang's wound is in the back while Zuko's in the front. Literally, two sides of the same coin, as throughout the series their journeys and experience were parallel to each other. 4. I love how all the times that Aang and Katara have kissed through this series it is Aang who kisses Katara, but for their final kissing scene it is Katara who kisses Aang first. <3 5. The scene where Azula screams and cries is the saddest scenes in the series. She is only 14 and she literally had the world in her hands, which is what she's been conditioned to want for her whole life. I see her breaking down as acknowledging that she has nothing now and she knows it. Her whole charater arc and story is truly tragic. Literally her whole life she felt a lack of love and abandonment from everyone. She thought her mom saw her as a monster and left her. Her dad who abandoned her in the finale for her to stay in the palace when she wanted to be with him. Her abandonment by Iroh who saw her as just crazy. Her abandonment by Zuko as he never felt close to her at all and when he switched sides and fought against her. Then the icing on the cake was the betrayal by her friends and being abandoned by them. Her literal defeat was because she was becoming more and more unhinged as more and more people abandoned her in life. She thought even after all these abandonments that being a firelord would be enough or was at least lying to herself about what she wanted but she clearly wanted more than that due to her breakdown. When she finally lost her battle, she saw katara's bond with Zuko and that she, herself had nothing left, no bond nothing and broke down in tears. She was a tragic villain. I also think that her ending is done very well particularly in contrast to Zuko who found himself while she lost herself even more 6. The voice actress for Azula said in a interview once that when she recorded this scene everyone left the room to give her space and privacy to get to such an emotional state and be able to perform such an raw and emotional performance and she also has said that she has never watched the episode due to the overwhelming emotions it brings her. Congrats to you guys for all being a part of the ATLA universe I am sad it's over, but I can't wait for what's coming ahead!

Which is written by the same person who did Avatar the last air bender. One of the main characters is even voiced by the person who, voiced Sokka. I really enjoyed it, and it just got a season 2 a little while ago. Not sure if that would be something you would check out. But just an idea for the future if you need a show.

2023-04-04 18:14:48 +0000 UTCOne of my favorite parts of the overall finale is the final Agni Kai. Its really beautiful on multiple levels. The muted sound with the low roar of the flames if kind of haunting with music in the background being a bit more on the sad sounding side. Its sad that this fight between siblings likely came to be because of the way Ozai treated both of them. Visually the contrast between the blue and orange flames was incredible as well and against the darker background the color of the flames really stands out. Its probably my favorite fight in the series
