EARLY ACCESS: Ready Player One FULL REACTION

This was an absolute blast! The movie is a visual feast, with breathtaking CGI landscapes and stunning action sequences that take place in both the real and virtual worlds. The references to pop culture of the 1980s and 1990s are numerous and will appeal to anyone who grew up during that time. The film's soundtrack is also filled with iconic songs from that era, which adds to the nostalgia factor.

The cast of the movie is excellent, with Tye Sheridan delivering a standout performance as Wade Watts. Olivia Cooke, who plays Art3mis, the female lead, is also fantastic, bringing depth and complexity to her character. The supporting cast, including Ben Mendelsohn as the villainous Nolan Sorrento and Mark Rylance as the OASIS's creator, James Halliday, are equally impressive. Overall, "Ready Player One" is an entertaining and visually stunning film that will delight fans of the book and newcomers alike. With its engaging story, talented cast, and dazzling visual effects, it is a must-see for anyone who loves science fiction, action, and adventure.

Y’all just keep proving how badd medicine is the best reaction channel ever 💯

X27

1 & 2 coming early May 👍😁

Badd Medicine

Maybe I’m mistaken but the oak mentioned Avatar- (I’m assuming blue ppl one directed by James Cameron) would y’all consider reacting to avatar 1 and 2? I know everyone won’t vote for avatar if it did come up in a poll, but i know the answer and Mason would love it very much both 1 and 2! begging to see it😭💙

X27

It seems they are planning to make a sequel, TRON: Ares.

Jorrit Goossens

Im out here building a speed racer army 😂 hope they watch it some day

Another recommendation for the Speed Racer movie. John Goodman is great in it and the visuals were ahead of it’s time.

Brian Albright

The only thing I like better about the book is that they explain why all the 80s references are there, I mean you can glean it from the premise of the movie, but in the book, everyone was so obsessed with finding the clues to finish Haliday’s game that the entire world went into 80’s mode, from movies to games to music, hence why everyone in the movie seems to know a lot about old Atari games and old movies like buckaroo banzai, even though it takes place 60 years later. The movie is better in every way except for this explanation.

Brian Albright

I read the book first and I still think the movie is superior. The race was a much better on-screen scene than what the book had (him playing Joust against a skeleton over and over). They made all the right changes imo.

Brian Albright

I really wish they would remaster Legacy in 4k with proper HDR, the movie already looks great but oh man it couls look so much better.

Brian Albright

😁🤙

I'm back for this!! And HTTYD :)

Jennifer K

A pleasure, as always, see a movie (one of my favs) with all of you. Guys, u definitely have to react to mad max fury road, please.

Leslie reynero

Use to scare the shit out of me when i was younger lol

Steven K

If you guys want a follow-up to Roger Rabbit, Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers from 2022 is a must watch.

Eric Wallace

This was great. Don't know anything about the book. But this was great. A nice mix of a little bit of everything.

Badd Medicine

Literal 1 second, 1 shot cameo I just noticed for the first time. At the beginning of the movie when it's playing Hallidays obituary message 2 of the little girls crying are the actress's that play young Theo and young Shirley in Haunting of Hill House!!!! Also, the actress that plays Samantha (Art3mis) plays Alicent Hightower in House of the Dragon

Rhea H Pelotto

Really nice film, specially when you develop games or like gaming in general. Would also suggest TRON: Legacy, a film ahead of its time.

Jorrit Goossens

As someone who saw the movie first i was surprised to actually like the movie more

Steven K

I feel like this is a movie to watch with your thumb on the pause button to frequently pause in order to catch all the Easter eggs. This is the first time I have seen this movie since I saw in in the theater with my brother. I think it’s alright. I’d probably give it a 3.5. 🙂

Ginger

Ahhhhhh such a fun ride! Loved rewatching this and seeing y’all react to it 🎉

Angelina

I understand that people often like the novel more than the film here & I do understand but I think they're both great in their own right for sure. The novel does go into quite a bit of detail & is a fair bit darker actually too. If you guys do read it, I hope we see a book club video potentially. This is one of my favorite adaptations from novel to film for sure!!! It is fun for everyone & aside from countless easter eggs, it has tons of real-world topics both deep & shallow that can be elaborated & expanded upon.

Jack's World

🤜🤛😁😁😁

Can't wait

Getting ready to watch along now! I haven't seen this since it released. Can't wait to rewatch, it's basically going to be all new to me now. 🤣

Sarah

I can see that. I did the audiobook, and no matter the writing style, if it has a good narrator, it makes it way more enjoyable.

Scott Bringel

I like this movie but the book is SO much better! My husband and I listened to the audiobook while we were on a roadtrip and there was so much more detail and adventure. Normally I hate when a single book is split into multiple movies but I genuinely think the book could have been 2 or 3 movies on it's own. Highly recommend reading it if you get the chance!

Shelby Gentry

I wouldn't recommend the book at all. While I agree that the way things were done in the book were better regarding the events, the actual writing was incredibly cringe worthy and annoying. While reading the original book, it felt like I could practically *hear* Cline's mouth breathing and see his neck beard even without having met him. It goes on diatribes for entire pages about extremely obscure 80s knowledge and then proceeds to imply that the reader is inferior to himself if you aren't as well versed in this knowledge as he is. This is one of the few times when I think a movie is better than the book, and I don't even think the movie is all that great. It's fun and a feast for the eyes, but the book is just horrible.

Marco Gutierrez

Have you guys seen the Village by M Night Shyamalan? Probably one of my favorite movies of all time

Padraig Conway

Re Answer’s question about other Spielberg Easter eggs - Spielberg actually didn’t want to use references to his own movies! He made an exception for the DeLorean and a few other things, but he said in an interview that he wanted to defer to other creators’ characters. They say the crew kept trying to sneak in Spielberg references and he would catch them!

Marlee H.

The Speed Racer movie is a hidden gem. It’s a great movie and severely underrated.

Cubonemaker

Loved that you loved it!

NW

BTW they are making a sequel! (It's still very early in production but that was back in 2022 so will be a little bit before it comes out, if it still does)

Shane Kolaga

I’m an 80’s baby. Managed a Blockbuster and Hollywood video, but I had mostly sisters and no video games. My husband has taught me a lot, but I love hearing your commentary and all the things I just don’t immediately get. You guys enjoying this makes me enjoy it more! I get dopamine just by knowing how much you guys will get a kick out of what you watch. Keep the nostalgia coming!!

Caroline Price

Its epic, directed by the Wachowskis before they split apart. You guys would like it i think.

calum1

I don't think anyone has seen that? I'll check.

Badd Medicine

Loved the reaction guys, you mentioned near the start when the first race was beginning that you thought you saw the speed racer car. Im not sure if y’all have seen the speed racer movie of 2008 but if you haven’t i think It’d be definitely one to watch. As always thanks for the great stuff guys.

calum1

love this movie cant wait to watch with yall

MeloTaughtMe

The opening race is so unbelievably visually impressive. It was *incredible* watching that sequence on the big screen. Also: can we just talk about how good Olivia Cooke's American accent is? Also also: while it's obviously not the REAL Kira, it's kinda screwed up that Halliday decided to imprison a memory of the only woman he ever loved to an eternity of dancing against her will with zombies. Let's be real here. Not cool, James. Not cool.

Jeff K

SWEET! Hope you guys read the book, the movie is great, but the book makes is way more complex.

Scott Bringel

LETS GOOOOO

calum1

Know what I'll be watching when I'm done with work!
