Social Consequences - A new mod to Sims 3
Added 2024-05-11 12:56:44 +0000 UTCThe Sims is a game about People, but isn't it ironic that it has revolved around interaction with objects for so long? Over the past year, since the release of Get Out Project, my purpose has been to make Sims lively, independent, and reactive. And while I have achieved this goal with my mods, I am still not satisfied.
Gameplay is more challenging with needs falling faster, Sims are more autonomous and independent than ever, making decisions that guide their lives, but something was still missing: Awareness of their surroundings.
This mod aims to tackle that front and address that issue. But it does much more than that. It acts on systems that most of us have never touched or, if we did, it was for a short time. Let me explain:
Situational behavioral changes: Sims now have more complex and varied reactions to social situations such as betrayals and relationship breakups. They can express feelings of anger, sadness, and even "revenge", depending on the circumstances. The pain of the breakup lasts longer, significantly affecting your Sims' emotions and how they react to their partner. Additionally, Sims may notice each other more frequently while walking around, even greeting each other with a wave.
Consequences for betrayals, breakups, and a revitalized Reputation System: We have introduced improvements to the gossip system that allows Sims to share information about other Sims' actions. If a Sim cheats on their partner, for example, this can lead to gossip that affects their relationships with other Sims in the community. Furthermore, Sims are more aware of their surroundings than ever! They pick up on and understand what is happening around them (how you can see Here). And on numerous occasions, they react to it. Gossip topics have been recalibrated. Sims are more likely to accuse their partner of cheating if they are insecure or suspicious. The reputation system has been revitalized to allow entry and transition between reputation levels more quickly so that the player can enjoy this system.
Disease transmission: Since our Sims are more aware of everything happening around them, their emotions, the contact they have with other Sims, all of this directly interferes with their immune system. If they interact with sick people, they will get sick, incubating the virus much more quickly than they would in the vanilla game. Additionally, they can transmit the virus through romantic interactions with their partners and genetically transmit allergies and other diseases to their future babies. Obviously, this is a chance-based system, so there are no guarantees, just like in real life.
Relationships and achievements: Making promises is almost a common habit for most players, but fulfilling them is another story. Now Sims who have fulfilled promises will receive an extra level of lasting happiness so that both the player and the Sims value the good things that can happen in life. A new submenu is available to players, it is more contextual and allows Sims to express specific feelings. The decay rate for relationships is also different. Staying away from Sims for too long will change the perception of the relationship, in some cases, it may even be removed from the relationship panel. Maintaining relationships is not an easy task, it requires commitment from both sides, so there is a more significant decay rate.
Overall, Sims have been encouraged to interact more with Sims than with objects, especially in social situations like community lots, parties, and more. But don't worry, Sims will still interact with objects, but they will prioritize human contact, after all, humans are social beings, right?
I have already proven in the past that the memory system that came with Generations does not pose risks to game performance, as is commonly disseminated by the community. At least in my test, I implemented approximately 90 memories in all Sims in the neighborhood and there was no impact on performance. So I expanded the maximum limit of memories that Sims can have to 500 (considering that most players play with this disabled, it should especially cater to people like me who like to create custom memories to tell their Sims' story).
This mod aims to make your Sims more aware of the world around them. I wondered if I should separate it into modules, but as I wrote this text, I realized that as much as I pursued different goals, they are completely relatable. Human relationships have significant and profound impacts, including on our well-being and development.
I strongly recommend that you use this mod along with Classic Sims Revival and all my other mods. The increased social decay rate in Classic Sims Revival will encourage your Sims to interact more with each other throughout the day. The unlocked interactions in Supreme AI will allow Sims to use a wider range of interactions with each other. The adjustments in Get Out will bring all these Sims closer together and make the neighborhood more alive. The Chaos mod will put your Sims in situations more susceptible to disease contraction. Even Simlane Traffic Speed will allow for a greater variety of cars on the street, conveying a sense of variety and movement.
All the mods I am making are add-ons to Get Out, but they all have scope enough to be independent mods. However, I strongly suggest using all of them combined to have the experience that the video above demonstrates.

That's strange, why do you use a powershel to start your game if you're on Win 10? Have you tried following the optimization tutorial on my channel to help your game recognize the components it has? He is the first person to report this problem, which makes me believe that perhaps it is not one hundred percent associated with the mod.
