It's like some one followed us around and wrote a script. Great to see Heath Ledger again and Julia Stiles. It feels like she was in everything in the late 90's, early 2000's. The music in here was soooo 90's too! Overall fun comedy. We really enjoyed this one.

So late to this but was randomly suggested it. I think I saw this movie once a looong time ago, but completely forgot everything about it. Now I'm like, I could watch this 100 more times. I think it's one of my new favorites and I loved y'alls reactions, I was cracking up. Seeing Heath it is sad, he really was so talented. Whenever he'd pop up in something my mom would tell me about how one of my aunts, who lived in Manhattan, would run into him a lot because he was basically one of her neighbors and she always said he was nice.

It was going to be a double date but turned into me with two dates. He already spent the $ so i felt bad. 3 of us did dinner. I also did pics with both guys. My boyfriend was a good sport.

2023-03-16 16:12:52 +0000 UTCI'll say this with regards to Levitt's character: he definitely did stray a little too closely to the nice guy mentality, but you can tell he didn't have an ulterior motive. He was treating her well and putting in the effort and he was confused and offended that she would respond more to a guy who was clearly only interested in adding another notch to his belt. Sometimes you really do need to check people on their BS. That goes for men AND women. Both can be just as narcissistic, conceited, and selfish and that kind of behavior should be shamed if we want a better society. Nobody should find anything to desire in someone that just views them as a sex object.

You didn't mention her but Gabrielle Union was also in this who was in all of these teen movies at the time like She's All That and Bring It On. This movie introduced the world to Heath Ledger and I try to just appreciate the films he did give us but yeah it's hard to watch Heath's movies and not miss him and be sad he's gone, he had so much talent and I heard nothing but great things about him. He was so charming and likable in this and he and Julia had great chemistry. I really like in this film that they give Bianca an arc and becomes a very likable character. It was so much fun watching it with you guy, I love how invested you were with the movie. Maybe it's because they spoof this movie that's absolutely hilarious but I would love to see you guys react to Not Another Teen Movie, yes it's stupid but it's meant to be, I think it would be just a blast to see you guys laugh the whole time. It's really funny and probably one of my favorite parody films.

Honestly made it even funnier 😆 This one was up there with Clueless being a modern take of Emma by Jane Austen and then this was a modern Taming of the Shrew. My sister and I are only a year apart, so my parents didn't treat us too differently, but she really thought she was the boss of me and we were at each other's throats during the teen years and it even got physical once or twice. We had each other's backs for the most part though if anyone else tried to start something with either of us. Just because I can talk shit about my sister doesn't give anyone else permission to do the same! 😁

And yeah, as an older sister to a younger sister, we definitely hated each other and fought a lot. But we’re best friends now that we’re older, which is how it works out a lot of the time. A little over the top at times, but funny. I totally wish my high school had looked like that one. That was one cool looking high school. I didn’t even catch the joke about Shakespeare’s collar when I watched this movie yesterday for the first time and was highly amused and how ya’ll lost it at the joke. 😁

My parents actually gifted me the same guitar Kat had in the movie (not sure if they realized it was the same one, but I definitely loved the connection). And yep, the movie is an adaptation of Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew" which is why there's so many heavy-handed references to him and why some lines probably stuck out. Freeform/ABC Family tried to adapt this movie into a show, but it didn't make it past season 1 unfortunately. Also there's some bloopers at the very end (after the song goes off). Pretty good stuff, even if you watch on your own time.

Really makes me miss Heath, of course. It's also wild to look back to a time when JGL was set up as a guy a girl would look at and say, "Eh." How things change... hahaha.
