EARLY ACCESS: The Last of Us 1x7 FULL REACTION

Bottle episode for Ellie! We get a decent amount of back story as we get caught up with her and Riley. The adventure they take catches us up to "How did Ellie get bit" while giving us more layers of why Ellie keeps a few things to herself. It was great seeing Ellie see things for the first time like, the escalator, video games etc... but it came at a price. Overall, good episode and gave us some needed back story on Ellie.

and by this episode, i just mean the riley and ellie stuff. the joel and ellie stuff is obviously following the part 1 story still

I wonder if they're going to flash back again and show Riley change and Ellie not.. Ellie would have had to kill Riley right once she turned?? I can't imagine them going their separate ways at this point -- the only way out of Ellie killing Riley is Marlene showing up in the morning, but Ellie did say she's killed/shot someone before so 😭 I agree with you about the wound. If you look at the length of the bat shard, only 3ish inches is bloody with the end narrowing significantly. From a medical perspective, if it didn't nick the stomach or intestines, he could survive it. You'd die from blood loss if anything and Joel's wound was clotted under the pressure dressing when Ellie lifts it (good attention to detail show!). That's probably why they changed things from the rebar impalement, too farfetched -- if you get skewered by rebar you're good when it's in you but once they pull that sucker out you're not surviving without a surgeon.

i’m interested to see next weeks episode and how closely it follows all the crap ellie has to go through while joel’s injured. and i think i’m blurring together part 1 and part 2 but i’m pretty sure this episode is from neither. it’s from the stand alone expansion/DLC of the game with the same title as this episode. “the last of us: left behind”

Even the non DLC parts, like Ellie in the school, was inspired by the American Dreams comic book

Maybe he sounds like a whiny little girl because he's still going through puberty? Seriously, this is why I don't like Japanese voice acting. Deep voice or yelling =/= angry. Some of the angriest that people have ever been is when they're barely speaking above a whisper because they're fighting so hard to contain their rage that they can't project their voice out. Japanese voice acting is unrealistic. All of the good and happy characters have high-pitched and fast voices, while evil or brooding characters have deep voices and talk slow. It makes no sense at all. Your personality doesn't determine how your voice sounds. Every single time that I hear someone insist you have to watch anime in Japanese, it's some weeb that worships Japanese culture. Even Japanese people think it's weird to watch media in foreign languages when you can understand it better in your native tongue. They sure don't watch American movies in English if they can help it.

Keep the morning shadow Oak

It was very much an episode from a kid perspective. Nice to see.

I'll have to add that to my list to catch up on

Acting was excellent this episode. It was nice to see kids be kids. It’s just a shame the way it ended. I was happy to see Storm Reid. She doesn’t get to show her talent as much on Euphoria.

NS

Sub is defintely better, but it depends on whether the crew is used to watching subbed media and can maintain doing it for a 80+ episode series. If they can, then sub. If not, then the dub is good enough.

Invincible and then Arcane to follow. 😁

They doing it after avatar at least thats wat they said during season 1 I been campaigningfor it for months

Another phenomenal episode

I think the argument could be made that the Bill and Frank episode was a "happy" ending since, while they died, they went out on their own terms, with someone they loved, at the end of a long, loving, contented life, which is about the best you can ever hope for in an apocalypse. I mean, it was still fucking heartbreaking... hahaha.

Jeff K

crazy how the writers don't even need water anymore, just everyone's tears for hydration

second this

And like another comment replied to you, you lose a lot in the experience overall when you watch dub, you just do, death note has an amazing dub, but kindly aot does not

Cameron

Nah man I get you, but if you really watch other subs you would know that erens VA is not nearly up to par with the Japanese actor yuji kaji, the English actor, if I’m being frank, sounds like a whiny little girl most of the time, he’s supposed to be ANGRY

Cameron

this show nevers gonna give us a happy ending 😥

stephanie

The episode was inspired by the dlc of TLOU part 1 “Left Behind” and it was very faithful to the game

Invincible before attack on titan because it’s only one season

Kevante Caldwell

I completely disagree. The English dub is serviceable but the sub is leaps and bounds superior in every way tot he dub. They lose a lot more by going dub.

blitzman08

Gonna have to disagree big time on this one. While I also think MOST of the time that the original voice actors/audio is the best way to view a piece of content, Attack on Titan is one of the few that has an outstanding English dub team and why the English may actually be the superior way to view the series, but particularly for native English speakers (especially American/European viewers, such as yourselves). This is because like 99% of the characters are actually European and the show itself also is 98% free of anime cultural Japanese-isms. This is actually quite a big deal when it comes to Attack on Titan and why its so popular everywhere. It's accessible to the entire world in both its original audio and Japanese original track. I will say that you wont lose no matter which you ultimately choose. But wanted to make this clear, especially about Attack on Titan, as very few other anime is worth viewing in the English dub. AoT is a standout however.

Coelacanth

When/If you guys do attack on titan I think you should stick to the Japanese’s voice actors; they’re very carefully picked and personally the English version was the first anime to make me switch to subtitles😂
