Love that we are in book 3 at last! One thing I do want to point out ahead of time (don’t worry, no spoilers) is that you guys have typically taken the two part episodes as one and only shared your thoughts after both parts are over. This is a good move for most of the two parters in this show since each part doesn’t really stand on its own. But for the finale, which is 4 parts, I highly suggest you break at the halfway point, after part 2, to discuss before doing parts 3 & 4.

Hey Lexie! We appreciate your support here and thanks for spending some of your time with us!

OMG BOOK 3!!! Some of my favorite Sokka moments. Can't wait til episode 4!

the continent

I love her so much in Book 3! Her Book 3 characterization and arc elevated her to my second favorite character after Iroh.

Will

Katara is my Cancer twin during this season lol Her characterization is great during Book 3

Nikki

I believe they were doing water bending moves without the water.

Dio Legrand

It's all good! I appreciate your take very much! Thank you <3

Uncle definitely felt hurt and betrayed. He underestimated Zuko’s love for Ozai. Zuko hadn’t really taken Uncle’s advice for granted, moreso he misinterpreted Iroh’s advice (Zuko Alone, Crossroads of Destiny). I agree with your whole second paragraph; Zuko is completely torn. I just don't see Iroh’s silence as him holding a grudge/not forgiving Zuko. To me, it's more of an acceptance that Zuko has chosen his path, which Iroh refuses to support in any way. His words aren't getting through to Zuko because Zuko, himself, doesn't see a life apart from Ozai. All of Zuko’s solutions end up with him at his father’s side. It's discouraging to witness and Iroh can't bear to watch Zuko descend into madness. Btw, I'm not saying you're wrong - just giving my interpretation of their dynamic.

Nikki

I like The Answer’s shirt! 😎

When y'all are done, I highly recommend reacting to, or at least watching "Avatar Spirits" on YT. It's a short documentary about the making of the show. Gives a lot of nice context and info for some of the decisions and what made the show so special.

Season 3 episode 2 is one of my favorites! With this being a kid show, they so easily could have just made the fire nation all bad people and everyone else good people. Instead, everything is a shade of grey. People in the earth kingdom like Jet and the Dai Li were capable of terrible things. And in the fire nation, children being fed propaganda about the war were capable of kindness to a stranger. Such an important thing for viewers of all ages to see.

Also in Book 1 I believe when Zuko saves Aang from Admiral Zhao, Aang mentions Kuzon, or at least he said he once had a friend in the fire nation.

Loved this! Between episodes 11 and 12 (probably numbered 10 and 11 on Netflix, but Answer will know what I mean) you guys should watch the trailer! I remember when this came out in 2008 and they took a big midseason break for like 6 months. When the trailer dropped for the back half of the season, I must have watched it a hundred times. Great reaction as always! Can't wait to see more!

Audrey

We're here! So excited for Book 3 and Kuzon was a friend of Aang's from the fire nation before the war. I think they mention it but it's easy to miss, great stuff guys!

Ivan Rasmussen

I have thoroughly enjoyed rewatching this amazing show with you guys. When I was a kid I didn’t have access to Nickelodeon so I could only watch it when I was at my grandmothers. Then years later I had to stream it illegally to watch it from start to finish. Lol.

Dylan Ostic

I don't know if it's even possible for it to be as bad haha

Audrey

Cute!

Aang has been shown to be very well traveled and today we learned "Twinkle Toes can Dance!" If he knows traditional fire nation dances then....why would he not know some water tribe dances I like to think Aang whipered in Kataras ear to do the "water tribe dance" with him. Thats why she was able to do the routine on the spot. It may be war, but that doesn't mean Gran Gran or some other tribal women hadn't passed down how to dance. My own headcannon here

I think why Avatar is so loved by people all over the world is that it reflects on the real world. The characters/ the stories from the people they meet/ the stituations they are put in or happened to them. In this episode the kids are just children who are raised a certain way and dont know any better. You have some places in the world where this (unfortunatly) still happens. To show them to be free i think Aang helped them alot. I also want to adress on what Oak said. Whats great about this series is that even if its Aangs job to make sure to bring back balance, they are a team. Every single character in their group is important. Every personality and ability is needed and creates such a good dynamic. If one falls out, they cant function properly, they are a team and they've showed that many times.

AyaaChann

That would be cool! Hopefully it’s not as bad as the first avatar remake 🙏

Grace

Avatar live action coming this summer if it's any good it would be cool to watch it with them as it comes out as a patron perk.

Oulianor Timothee

Earlier in episode 2, Aang says he had a friend named Kuzon from the Fire Nation, that's why he chose the name. I think you guys just missed that part

JMac

finally !!! loved it as always, cant wait for more book 3, it just gets better and better

zuzi

😂 I feel ya, but it's great when they finally come.

Oulianor Timothee

This season has some outstanding episodes, I'd say more than half of them. Other than the finale there are a couple of them I think you guys will like especially. This season is a bit more episodic than two but more mature than one. It's more humorous than two but where book two was conceptual book three is more personal. Looking forward to the reactions 👍🏾

Oulianor Timothee

What I like about the uncle not helping Zuko anymore is that he is leaving him on his own. Zuko made his own decision and is visibly not happy with the outcome of it. At first he is angry with his uncle because he is lost and he doesn't have his help anymore, which was a sort of pillar for him, the voice of reason, the advices. He realizes how much he took him for granted. The uncle is aware of that, he loves him but refusing to forgive him is the right thing to do. He always had his back, and Zuko betrayed him. He is showing him that there are consequences to his actions and that he isn't entitle to anyone's forgiveness without proper redemption. Now desesperate and lost, Zuko is at war with himself, his guilt, his purpose, and Azula isn't helping, constantly getting into his head. His 'honor' is the only thing holding him together and he knows it's also just a lie, which weights on his conscience. The only thing he deems valuable could actually forsake him if the Avatar is found to still be alive, which is why he uses desesperate measures (hiring a mercenary to end the Avatar for good) to keep the only thing he has left; his honor. If he gets banished again, he won't have anything or anyone for that matter.

Miss_CJ

You guys really gotta do Korra after you finish this one!!!

SaviorOfNirn

brilliant thank you, just one problem, i dont think i will survive a whole week till the next one...

Sam Harris

Woo let’s go! This might have been asked already but has Answer watched Korra?

Grace

So excited! Discovered you guys from this series and was so excited to see someone watch my favorite show. Was bummed I found your videos when you were just starting the series and that I couldn't binge watch your reactions to all 3 books in one night. Tried to watch other channels react to the series to fill the void but it just didn't hit the same as this. So in conclusion here I am on Patreon counting down the days to each new Avatar video and enjoying all your other reaction videos too :)
