I'll throw in one tidbit from the mahjong game at the end between Rachel and Eleanor. Many people who don't know the rules think that when Rachel turns over her tiles at the end, she has won the game (Showing her beating Eleanor in general). However, by the rules of play the game was already over at that point. It's like folding in poker, then showing your cards anyway, even if you had a royal flush it doesn't matter because the hand is already over. Rachel was saying that she could have won, but chose not to. Just like when she turned down Nick's proposal: She COULD HAVE won in every way, even taking away Nick, but she CHOSE not to.

"Banana" is used a pejorative term to call Asian Americans, who assimilated to American culture and are viewed as "moving away from their asian roots". The term banana is "Yellow on the outside, white on the inside", or they are "fake asians"
