The second season was not particularly good. Most viewers rated it way lower than the first season. Not really worth them watching this on the channel.

2023-02-21 16:42:10 +0000 UTCI know what you mean by calling it ‘season 2’ but it could easily confuse those who haven’t watched it yet. They are both anthology series that just happen to be called The Haunting of ____ , it isn’t season 2. It is a new set of characters, in a new home, in a completely different time period, based on a completely different book and set of stories. I just don’t want anyone to go in with expectations of seeing these characters again, I also don’t want people to avoid Bly Manor because they are afraid it could ruin the Hill House. Anyways, just thought I’d put that out there, I hope you stay well. Good vibes always :)

The house which over the story were expecting to be this great evil but in the end is actually a good place for families to live with eachother forver. Wouldve been alot better if the red room was some form of portal to another dimension or something. But the fact that the house is a nice house for families to be forever with kinda ruined it. Luke surviving RAT POISON is a bit dumb as well he shoudlve died, wouldve made the story more impactful. Theos powers are essentially useless in the grand scheme of the story, like she doesnt use her powers at all in the ending for actual payoff, they just kindof wrote her out at the end abit. All this talk about her touch and she wasnt all that important in the end. Still a great show but has some flaws towards the end

2023-02-17 18:51:53 +0000 UTCI feel like you were a tad disappointed with the ending of Hill House so to prepare you for Bly if you watch it, you should know it is NOT a horror genre tv show. It is technically gothic fiction, that's an important framework imo .... Gothic romanticism was a genre very popular around 1830-1850; drama or romance novels with dark atmosphere & foreboding undertones, with a protagonist going somewhere creepy and mysterious. Some of the most well known examples of gothic fiction would be Jane Eyre, Rebecca and Wuthering Heights. Hope this helps! I didn't enjoy Bly as much on first watch because my expectations were leaning too much towards expecting more horror. I hope this helps you enjoy it on first watch!! 👍❤

It also has the Mum from the 1st Conjuring in it. Lili Taylor. Owen Wilson and Catherine Zeta-Jones. I honestly shed a tear at the end of this. Not many TV/Movies do that to me but I did.

2023-02-17 06:19:58 +0000 UTCAllegedly, the ending scene with Luke celebrating his second sober birthday was originally supposed to have been in the red room. But the changed the background so that they finally got a happy ending. As far as the Dudley’s, I don’t think they originally had any intention of being in Hill House after they died. I think Abigail being there is what cemented it for them that there was no other place to be. Hugh’s death, I’ve never been 100% on, as in was it natural or not. I don’t think Liv got any clarity until he made the offer to stay though. I always thought Abigail was a ghost until the last few episodes and then I went “ooohhhh noooooo!!!” 😂😭
