you will run into this problem when you try to apply real life logic on any system of magic, whether from LOTR, HP, Wizard of Oz etc. as the concept of magic itself is fundamentally in opposition to how we understand logic, its impossible for an author to create a system of magic that can align to how we intuitively think things should or shouldnt work. you can create a system of magic that is internally logic, like how Brandon Sanderson does, but then you immediately lose any sort of mystery or fantasy as it becomes purely a system of Science. it becomes strict, rigid, sterile, and boring. it loses the core of what made Harry Potter such a famous fantasy series; it was the first to be simple. JKR solves this problem with a simple; 'it just doesnt work like that'. she doesnt explain why, she just says that it can or cant happen and thats the end of it. i would bet my hat you would prefer that explanation over each book/movie being 70% about explaining magical rules. the reason why JKR saying "they just cant" use the timeturner to stop voldemort is a valid response is purely BECAUSE magic is inherently illogical.

2025-04-21 00:02:00 +0000 UTCThere's no denying that the Time-Turner from PoA is a huge plothole. As soon as a story introduces time travel, it opens up a wealth of issues and HP is no different. The one saving grace is how the Time-Turner actually works. You have to physically turn the device in your hand for each hour you go back, so there is ofc a limit to how far back you can go, probably no more than 1-2 days. But, I mean... Cedric and Harry use the Portkey, Cedric dies and Voldemort returns. Seems like a good place to have a do-over a few hours later, if you ask me??

2023-02-15 15:41:23 +0000 UTCHarry’s eyes were supposed to be Green, Daniel wore contacts for ONE day on set. He was VERY allergic to all forms of solution. So the films continued with his Blue Eyes and his mom having Green Eyes- Had it not been such a point of the story, nobody would’ve noticed.

2023-02-11 21:47:00 +0000 UTCyou guys really gotta watch the Team Starkid harry potter musicals, they star a couple of young famous tv and broadway actors and was filmed during their time at university, anyway very funny and not at all what you will expect. Very popular musicals though, they're known by fans all over the world and actors from the HP movies have seen them too (one even has a cameo in the 3rd) ! but yeah they did 3 hp musicals but even if you just watch the first, id be so happyyy

You have no idea how much crucial plot you’re missing out on, especially in GoF, OotP, and HBP. HBP is my favourite movie and favourite book, but is an awful adaptation. The movie completely missed the main story and themes of the book!

The brief nods to the book plot often just lead to plot holes ie. Hermione’s parents. That should have just been left out of the movies. However, the mistakes the movies made were all worth it in the end because this video was fucking hilarious to watch 😂

The light thing is called a deluminator. 😎 You guys so need to watch the Pitch meeting for Thor: Love and Thunder. It will not disappoint! 😂

2023-02-09 22:46:00 +0000 UTCI had to pause the video to comment on this specific thing, about Hermione erasing her parent's memories and them talking to family and stuff - In the books not only does she erase their memories but she also has them move to Australia (don't remember how she does that) but they basically just start a new life there where no one knows them, so they would never have the awkward conversations. Although, now that I think about this, that still means they just up and left their lives with no notice to anyone and that's still bizarre haha

2023-02-09 21:45:27 +0000 UTCOne plot hole answered in the books is there is a protective spell to hide harry at is relative home. So that’s why they keep sending him back. And it wears off when he turns 17 or 18. That’s why they have to move him.
