So much happen and if have played the game, a lot of things played out in here. We feel that with Neil and Craig, this first season is going to be in good hands.

Wow I'm blown away at how well this show is made but expect nothing less from HBO. Dave I'm sure you caught this but the actor who plays Marlene is the same person who did the voice acting for Marlene in the game. Thought that was super cool!

Pedro doesn't have Joel's iconic beard, nor does Bella have similar face structure to Ellie, yet I was sold on the characters straight away. I think it makes no sense to cling to characteristics that go beyond concept, it literally doesn't add anything to the story.

I don't know if I agree with being so harsh towards Bella (people online are mostly bashing her bc of her looks, not acting), but I'm open to opinions :)

2023-01-18 04:57:06 +0000 UTCI so wish I could watch the full length version with you guys, but unfortunately, being in the UK, our streaming service version of the show is sped up just a tiny bit to fit our slightly different frame rate, so the watch along would be out of sync. still enjoyed your edited one over on YT, glad to see you all enjoying it. I super loved this ep and its everything I could have hoped for so far!

Also, just a note, I don’t know if you guys plan on keeping the guitar intro for the next episodes, but I found it a bit too loud compared to the sound level of your voices, it was a bit hard/distracting to hear you at the beginning

Watching you kept me grinning rather often which probably didn’t match the tone of the show haha but it did add a great light-hearted element! Considering though, I reckon you did a pretty good job at not spoiling anything since what you were reacting you pertained to similarities with the game or details that referenced future events rather than something imminent; so you didn’t give anything away, probably just confused Mason and Oak! 😂 Hope you continue to enjoy, I wonder if going forward you’ll catch many other little details you miss on first watch whilst you’re editing the show for the channel :)

I don't remember Tess pushing 50 or sleeping with joel. I think Bella Ramsey is horrible as Ellie. saying fuck every three seconds and being the same age doesn't make you Ellie. With that aside, I'm trying to give it a chance and remembering its an adaptation not a carbon copy

2023-01-16 19:58:03 +0000 UTCThe casting is so well done, and they managed to pull off filming one of the most memorable scenes in a game so well. Thandie Newton's daughter does the prologue perfectly. Also saw someone mention a GoT reunion- we have the Viper escorting lady Mormont.

2023-01-16 18:22:21 +0000 UTCLoved the episode. I played the games and most of this was such a great adaptation. I felt the extra scenes added to the world and characters so far. Sure some action scenes are missing but I rather have world building and character moments than scenes of shooting constantly. The only nitpick I have is before the daughter gets shot. In the game the guard says something along the lines of "they have a child". That for me makes the order so much colder and desperate. A shame it wasn't included. Awesome start and cant wait to continue next week!

2023-01-16 18:10:52 +0000 UTCI'll be honest, I'm not a gamer and I never got into TWD so this series wasn't on my radar and I had zero intentions of watching it until I saw this upload and thought 'what the hell, just give it a try'. So I went in completely blind like Quinn & Oak and - Holy God - this might just be the strongest pilot episode I've ever seen! I am clearly not this show's target demographic but it totally doesn't matter because they have me HOOKED with the amazing writing, characters and plot. I don't think I even blinked the entire time. I am all in! Thanks for turning me onto this show guys. Looking forward to Sunday.

I've read who Ashley is playing, and it's kind of a brilliant choice (assuming what I've read is true). I don't know who Troy is playing, though.

2023-01-16 12:23:42 +0000 UTCI'm a super massive fan of the games and have been following the production of this show for about two years. I am super happy with how the show is doing things so far. Basically everything from the game is in there. They have expanded on all the scenes, just adding more detail. The production process for this show is Crazy. Roughly $13 million per episode for the budget which is as much as the later seasons of Game of Thrones. Which is mad for season 1 of a show.

It was pretty good, things are expanded upon here, shuffled around there, and tweaked every now and then, but a fair chunk of the changes seem to feel like an even trade: truck vs plane crash, handling the neighbors; or have practical elements to them: particle effects don't play well over live actors and tendrils are fairly clear and horrifying in their own rights, Robert's segment is a game basics tutorial which is unneeded in the show so they spend the time giving background on the smuggling and the fireflies that players get via reading collectibles. I really enjoy how they follow the cinematography of the game by focusing on someone sleeping for a hot moment then snap cutting to X hours later. I sort of wish they had put the intro sequence after Sarah's death because processing the event over that music is such a key memory from playing the game, but if that is the worst I'm asking for then they're doing pretty well.

Kinda upset they aren't doing the Spores in this version since the underground gas mask levels in the game are so tense but overall I would give it a 9/10. I can't give it a 10 just because I feel like the video game did better in certain scenes. I also love that not all of you guys have played or watched the game, makes for a very interesting reaction.

I do wish we saw Tess and Joel interrogating Robert, with breaking his arm, smashing his knee, and finally killing him, but the makers of the series did say the violence was toned down a bit compared to the game. Cant wait to watch more with you guys!

I dont think ive ever seen a game adaptation be done this perfectly, the casting was amazing and it really kept me on edge! and the fact that it only gets better from here.
