Her abilities were a really cool reveal. Theo using the money to get her education was a great spot in this story. A lot happened here in this episode. The way this show is written is really well done and we are 3 episodes in.

2023-01-19 15:01:23 +0000 UTCI'm late to the party but I realised on rewatching this with you guys that the show does a good job of giving the children abilities through the 5 senses. Theo gains her abilities through touch and feels the emotions and glimpses of what happens to be people. The mother mentions Shirley talks in her sleep (in episode 1 and the intro to episode 2 when they all wake up choking, she is the only one to speak saying "Nellie's in the red room"), Nellie is through hearing (the mother again says Nell said it was "loud" in the house), Luke is through smell and shows when he enters the room with the intercom which may be why he becomes addicted to drugs, it's to be assumed that Stephen is taste and is kind of linked to how he chews up a story, digests it and then comes out with bs. There's also the theory that all 5 children represent the stages of grief but that's more spoiler related for the entire show so I won't go in to details, but definitely an interesting read once you've finished this!

The Haunting of Hill House is one of the few series I can recall where each new episode just keeps on topping the last. The writting, the acting, the atmosphere and tension, just gets better and better. It doesn't disappoint. There are some amazing reveals coming your way and a great payoff at the end. Looking forward to watching more with you guys.

2023-01-04 00:04:24 +0000 UTCLoved the episode, Iโm so anxious to see you watch the next episodes. I will definitely binged watch you guys again after all of the episodes have been uploaded. You guys have been catching things very good with your insights and comments at the end of the episodes. Quick note: when the mom says about the girls having some sort of ability, she does mention that Shirley and Nell have some sort of ability as well besides Theo. She doesnโt say what specifically but she gives hints. And I think thatโs why they show each episode with a different character focus, so we can try to understand the character individually. For example: When she said that Nell thinks the house is loud, and also Shirley talking in her sleep. If you notice in the previous episode it shows how Shirley sleep talking is considered a joke with the Pandas comment, but she does mention Nell in her sleep and other things as well. This makes me think she knows what is happening, what happened, or what will happen in her sleep. But because it happens while she sleeps, the only people that could decipher this is who hears her, and since they cannot make sense of it itโs seems like some babbling ,so it is left as not as important as Theo or Nell.

I think she has the ability to feel the emotions of other people or feel what happens in relation to an object, and she can have glimpses of the future or past but I don't think she can straight up read people's thoughts Also, you guys didn't catch it but see how what Theo said to Shirl about how to explain to her kids what happened to Nell, was exactly what Shirley said to them in episode 2. I thought it was a neat little tie in Don't forget to look at the background every now and then ๐ Great reaction guys, I really love this show and it only gets better !
