It did well switching back and forth a bit. A lot of layers in the first one. Looking forward how they reveal it. Can't believe we lost a Nell right away. Looking forward to the remaining episodes. Episode 2 will drop next week!

Mike Flannigan has reinvented the horror genre in such a unique way; he's a true believer in storytelling as a method to make sense of the world around us--including grief, family, addiction, religion etc. Also, Shirley is played by the same actor who plays Esme in Twilight.

The only advice I could give you is to maybe watch things with the lights off or darker within possible. Not for mood reasons and stuff, but just so you can see a bit more details and don't miss anything.

I already know you will absolutely LOVE this show! Oh and lastly, i know it's a bit confusing in the beginning, but Theo is the middle sister :) Looking forward to watching the rest of the show with you guys! :D

2022-12-22 22:44:25 +0000 UTCSome clarifying facts to help you guys out since it was a bit ocnfusing for y'all, hahahah: There are five children in the Crain family. They showed Theo in the beginning with the other kids, but it was brief. Steve (Oldest), Shirley (second), Theo (middle), Luke & Nell (twins and the youngest). Hugh and Olivia (Liv) are the parent's names. Mr. and Ms. Dudley are housekeepers for Hill House who have been taking care of the house since before the Crain family moved in. The story will continue to move between "Then" and "Now" throughout the entire show. I love the story telling format of the show, just like Oak said, but you do have to make sure you are watching and listening for all the context clues. I adore this show so much, it has amazing commentary espcially on mental health, but also the concept of time and also family of course. It is probably one of my top three favorite shows ever. I also really really recommend Midnight Mass, also by Mike Flannagan and on Netflix. It's different but another crazy horror story. Thanks so much for this suprise, you guys are doing great!
