EARLY ACCESS: Twilight New Moon FULL REACTION
Added 2022-12-21 16:06:24 +0000 UTCWell, this was not as good as the first one. Definitely, missed the accidental comedy here. Folks, sorry if you liked this one, but one could pick it apart. Little to no Robbie in this one?! But, good to see more story on Jacob. Story? Is what it is at this point. We hope it picks up a bit in the next one. We unpack quite a bit in the review.
Really looking forward to chatting with you all in the comments on this one.

For the anniversary, I am watching this. It’s a bit annoying bc I’m watching with a an extended edition. Or not happy with their slight nasty talk . TBH I’m not a fan of this movie at all. I prefer the others

2024-09-19 05:10:57 +0000 UTCI love how you respectfully review the movie to not hurt people's feelings. I must admit, this movie is quite bad lol I hate love triangles in movies / books, and this one is a bit ridiculous, as well as being toxic! Edward AND Jacob are being toxic in their own way. I never was the intended audience either, because it came out when I was in my twenties. I thought it was cute, I enjoyed the books, but I was never a die-hard fan. I'm a Potterphile and a Hunger games kind of girl :) Even if there was a love triangle in Hunger Games too (it was less of a thing in the books though).

2023-07-24 20:58:04 +0000 UTCthe best comedy ever watching this with you guys 😆 I can remember te discussions in shool about being team Edward or Jakob. Every teenage girl red the books and so on...I'm not at all ashamed that I did too. But now I can watch it with you and also just find it cringy and laugh about it.

2022-12-26 12:52:44 +0000 UTCHey Guys, Merry Christmas & A happy new year! Just wanted to let u know when u guys watch Christopher Nolan's Tenet, let me make it clear you guys r not going to get every information at the first watch becz Nolan did that on purpose. So, do keep an eye out for Robert Pattinson's character, "Neil" becz his choices do have a big impact at the end of the story. Therefore; thank u for a great year of movies and series reactions can't wait for next year's content.

2022-12-25 22:10:03 +0000 UTCOne thing I'd point out is that everyone refers to the wolves as werewolves but they're not actually werewolves. Werewolves = transform under a full moon. They're just shapeshifters that turn into wolves

2022-12-23 20:34:34 +0000 UTCHonestly, I don't share the viewpoint that Twilight has to be viewed as something targeting "17 old girls", whether it found the popularity among them or not. I'm 26 and not a girl - I love this story. Yes, the way you view the story can change over the years and growing up, but it's not necessary the nostalgia that colors it differently. Like when I first time saw these - romance for me was just there, I didn't question a single thing about it - these characters like each other - ok, it's fun to watch everything around it - the conflicts, vampires, werewolves, super-powers and what's going to stand in their way for happiness. And as I went through them and the books over the years - that's when I began to appreciate the story for romance, for all the characters and their interactions, on top of everything else. I simply don't think common concepts of "teenage love" are as applicable here as they were tried to be during the reaction. I still enjoyed watching it and had fun throughout the video, but I thought I'd share my thoughts as someone who enjoys the story more :) Like, Bella - can we really view her as normal, typical teenager? Or her relationships with Edward as something of a teenage-like in this story? I believe - no, we can't. Nor does she herself or Edward and many other characters. Even as human she's different in her group than others. And when it comes to supernatural - she turns out to be a part of it herself. It may be not as visible in the last movie, as we only saw that Edward can't read her mind, but now - we see that she's immune to a lot more powers than that. This makes Bella belong to that world, by nature, not choice, and in turn - creates a tighter connection to Edward and his family, which is what makes the break in the beginning of the movie even more painful for her. If anything, the romance itself between the main "triangle" is tied to the magic too. Which brings me to the point, that it's not meant to be as "this 17 y.o. centered her world around the boy and it's dangerous", one shouldn't take her as a lesson to do it like that - because you're not this person in these circumstances that can never actually be replicated in the real life. It's like building a model on the equation that lacks certain force in it. Or, maybe in this case - using the model of our reality in a world that certainly has more to it than ours. It has to be compensated instead of running into the extremes. Even the marriage proposal - it's actually a great idea to bring on the table in such a story, in opposite to the vampires turning others into vampires left and right. Because it brings a different perspective to it - you actually have to consider the Turn in no less serious way than marriage. It changes the life as it was, it makes you part of the different family that you aim to spend the rest of your existence with, and even more serious - you can't go back on it like in marriage these days. But how's that will be explored - is left for the next movie/s. In this one - we got the exploration of the moral complications of the very act. Which is a natural step after the last movie, and is spiced up by werewolves who have no choice on a Turning point.... Hope you'll enjoy the rest of the Twilight movies some more, though I already see the complications on this journey ahead :)

2022-12-22 23:04:43 +0000 UTCI don't remember the books giving Jacob a chance. If anything I felt like the movie gave him more of a standing in the triangle. In the books it felt more like Bella was keeping Jacob because he was there and it could've been anybody else. If my memory serve me right they weren't even anywhere neat kissing in the books. And I would've been team Jacob if Stephanie hadn't tried so hard to ruin him. However, even if I was team Jacob I would've chosen Edward just to become a vampire, because to me being a vampire was way more interesting then being a werewolf giving there was a chance that you could have a power. And i believe Bella made the same choice as me.

2022-12-22 20:20:35 +0000 UTCThanks for your honest reactions; I'm glad you mentioned the intended audience and lingered on that point. Something else I realize is important - when the books came out, years before the movies (2006), the popularity of vampire/warewolf stories was different, might I say drastically less at that time? This type of story was new to the young adult readers of our generation. So to have a vampire who doesn't drink human blood, doesn't want to change a human, tries to deny his love for her and save her by leaving, AND STILL wants the best for her was definitely new to us readers. I remember when the movies finally came out, many of my friends, myself included, couldn't get over the bad acting and script. Despite how good of an actor Rob might be, the movies were never great. Kristen was not ready for this type of acting. None of it felt as cool as the vampire/warewolf story in the books. All that said, you're all very correct--teenage girls at the time had VERY few better examples of a healthy relationship. This was our example. It's a miracle all twilight fans weren't scarred and messed up for life....at least I don't think I am.

2022-12-22 19:45:51 +0000 UTCAgreed. The movie makes it seem like a weird one sided obsession. The book has Bella reciprocate feelings. Regardless Edward is endgame so he’ll always be portrayed in the best light.

2022-12-22 18:16:48 +0000 UTCI think you guys though that the meadow Bella was in when Laurent tried to kill her was the baseball field in the first movie. It was actually the meadow Bella and Edward were in right after she figured out he was a vampire. It's considered the place where they started their relationship and where you will see them often because it's like a small haven to them. So the fact that it was all dried out was paralleling the fact that they were broken up. This is why she looked so in pain in that scene, because even the place that held Edward's memory was dead.

2022-12-22 05:32:18 +0000 UTCThis is my least favorite movie and my second least favorite book. I never really liked how dependent the "couples" felt in this movie. Edward had made up his mind at the end of the last movie to leave Bella and was just waiting for an excuse to do it. However, you only learn that if you read his book that came out recently. He realized that his world was a danger to Bella after James and when he hurt her to save her from Jasper it confirmed it. The other thing is that vampires and werewolves mate for life. So, when they find a partner that partner becomes their lifeline and the center of their universe. The only difference is that for vampires it's mutual (as in they chose to be together and won't leave each other and die for each other) while it might be one sided for werewolves. This leads me to the fact that Edward never found his mate, thus does not have any experience with woman. Edward is a 17 year old who never ages, physically and mentally (though he probably was a little more mature than 17 years old now), and who is courting another 17 years old. Edward was principally the protector of his family without really being of the family. He came and went, and even when he was there he would be distant (mostly because of his power). So when he found Bella, his sad and uninteresting life became full of color and purpose. Lastly, I liked Jacob in this movie, but he never had a chance. He was the rebound and will never compare to Edward because Bella doesn't just want Edward she wants to be a vampire and not be as out of place as she feels in her world. Jacob would never be able to offer her that. Team Edward for reasons that cannot be stated now.
Tealhiid
2022-12-22 05:27:21 +0000 UTCActually, Bella DID believe that Edward didn't want her. Bella has low self-esteem. She still can't believe that someone like Edward would want/love her. So she instantly believed him when he said he didn't want her when he was breaking up with her. The red eyes. Vampires who drink human blood have red eyes. The Cullens, who drink animal blood, have gold eyes.

2022-12-22 03:40:29 +0000 UTCI agree with your assessment of the movie but you all seemed to miss the part where Edward had never had any romantic partners in his 109 years. She was the "exception" which is cringe in it's own way but you guys couldn't seem to grasp this point haha. Anyway, enjoyed these and I truly cannot wait for the fun awaiting you in the Breaking Dawn movies.

2022-12-22 03:30:53 +0000 UTCYeah, this one is definitely not as good as the last one, the next ones get way better in my opinion... This was a lot of set up. The Werewolves were always my favorite! 2022-12-22 02:38:18 +0000 UTCAs much as this movie is my least liked out of the bunch, I always thought it had some beautiful shots. Moments that I like: (You guys didn't seem to like it though but oh well) In the book, when Bella falls into depression, you turn the pages and only the months that go by are written on the pages. 'November' (Next page) 'December' (Next page) 'January' and then it picks up again with the chapters. I always thought that the movie did a great job at depicting depression. The camera going around her, showing the window with the time passing, not wanting to do anything, just shutting off. Another moment is in the water after she jumped off the cliff. When she is sinking and she sees Edward's mirage, and then she is pulled out of the water by Jacob and her hand makes the mirage fade. I always thought it was an interesting shot. You guys also need to understand that Edward is like the outcast in his family. Before Bella, he never settled for anyone, always thought of himself as a monster, had a morose life. So taking an interest in Bella, falling in love, literally gave him 'life'. It's toxic and cringe at times but it explains why they all have those ''I can't live without you'' one liners. And that kiss (on her birthday after she hurt herself) Edward was in pain while kissing because he had already made up his mind to leave her. And to Answer's comment about the Cullens not moving and staring away...well it's actually pretty accurate to the description in the books. The vampires in this story don't need to breathe, or blink or anything. If they don't move they could be statues (they have to think about moving to look natural, to look humans, that's something we learn more about in Midnight Sun, Edward's POV of the first book). Also the red eyes on the vampires just means that they feed on human blood. The Cullens have amber eyes because they feed on animal blood. The vampire who fought with Edward (kicked his butt rather) is Felix and he has super strength and enhanced fighting abilities. You'll notice that the Volturi are a type of (large) family a bit like the Cullens but with a hierarchy. Aro, one of the three Volturi leaders likes to 'collection' vampires with incredible abilities, which is why he is so interested in Edward and Alice, one can read minds and the other can see the future. He sees a lot of value in them and wants to collection them, especially Alice. Great reaction!! Oh and I can't wait for you guys to learn more about Rosalie (the blond Cullen girl who voted no) So I guess next week :P PS: Team Edward all the way.

2022-12-21 23:36:30 +0000 UTCI agree with the things Oak said at the end. I do think this movie very much captures and portrays teenage ideals and beliefs about relationships and the world and the high levels of drama teen girls especially can be drawn to and sucked in by. I have had many teen girls tell me they hate drama, yet when they tell me about things going on in their lives, they are as much getting involved in it. I also think it is worth pointing out that our brains are not fully developed until we are around the age of 25. Teenagers are still very much learning and trying to figure life out and often feel grown adults just don’t understand, though we understand all too well as we were once the same way. You guys cracked me up in this review more than once.

2022-12-21 22:26:10 +0000 UTCMost teenagers (including me) were swept up by the toxic love story although it wasn’t a novelty at the time. I think a lot of older romantic movies from the 90s and the 2000s used to depict really unhealthy relationships and behaviors and we all ate it up. Twilight was particularly bad because of its massive popularity. I think we can all agree now that this story was toxic af and set a bad example for millions of young girls, and it unfortunately led up to hundreds of books and movies with the same problems, such as Fifty shades of grey, which started as a Twilight fan fiction. But where Fifty shades of grey targeted a more mature audience, Twilight preyed upon vulnerable teenagers. I still think it’s something worth watching as an adult, knowing the impact on pop culture it had and how it actually helped redefine/create the YA genre haha Great review guys as always!! P.S.: team Edward all the way btw. He’s toxic, but at least he’s consistent with it compared to mister Jacob who does, should I say, some questionable stuff towards the end 🙃 P.S.2: people telling you the CGI gets better …. LOL. They must have forgotten the last movie ……

2022-12-21 20:32:02 +0000 UTCThis film is definitely not my favorite from the Twilight Saga, but at the time it was released, the music was on point. Also, the scene where the months pass by as Bella mourns the loss of Edward in her life is just a really great cinematic moment.

2022-12-21 19:57:17 +0000 UTCWell I have the need to defend? this story, so let me give you some other way to see this, maybe. From someone who actually was 16 when this came out :) First, let me say that Im 30 now, and I do know this are not "good movies". But this beig said, its impossible for me to not give them a 10/10 everytime. And here is the explanation: First. The books. This books did something amazing, not only because of the story, which was actually original, as it redifined vampires, you have to give them that. A story where a vampire goes to highschool? And he is not the villain, but the main romantic interest... Of course, maybe you have seen many "teen paranormal romances" now, but when this came out, there wasnt any of that. This opened the door for all the others, so we have to thank twilight for that. But its not just that, this books created a new era in the book industry, as they made a place in the market for "young adult" books, which at that time, was unthinkable. A complete generation of teens began reading because of this books, because this was just what they wanted and couldnt find in any story. Something written just for them. All the teenage drama, eternal love, two hot guys fighting for a plain, uspecial girl (who could be you xD). There wasnt anything like that at that moment. Thats why this was insanely popular!! And thats why after this, there were thousands of similar stories written. Now, about the movies. They were massive success, because people loved this story so much it didnt matter that the films werent "good movies" we just wanted to see Edward, Jacob, Bella... being "real people" outside of the books :) And this being such a massive success, alsoopened the door for a whole new era of "teen book to movie adaptations" So keep in mind, without twilight, we wouldnt have "the hunger games" movies, "divergent"... So now, all this being said, of course we know this movies are bad, we know. But for me (and for many others) they have a special place in our hearts. And althoug we can see now, at 30 years old, that this were not so good, and more than a little toxic, we love to rewatch them with our friends sometimes, remembering and laughting and cringing at how stupid we were at 16. Thats the key, so we can still enjoy them. I can see why someone without that nostalgic factor wouldnt enjoy them, but maybe with this comment you can understand better why we are so excited for you to see them. And maybe it gives you a new perspective for the next ones :) Think this movies are like love, we have seen many more movies now, and of course, a lot of them are way better than twilight. But theres something about the first, teen love, you never forget it. Go team Jacob!! xD

2022-12-21 19:10:35 +0000 UTCTaylor had to get in shape for this film or get replaced. He was actually a three time junior world champion in Karate. He practiced that parkour move for three hours a day and shot it on the last day of filming. Jacob was never an option. He just existed to show us how much "better" Edward is in my opinion. Bella wanting Edward to turn her and him wanting to wait for marriage is a lazy metaphor for sex. My inner Bella is Team Jacob. I think werewolves are so much cooler and staying human is a better option lol. Stephanie Meyer absolutely slaughtered him. He gets worse from here lol. It's not a good movie, but I find it entertaining. You are spot on about the nostalgia. As a teenager I really loved this. As an adult, I am mortified about the messaging here. 2022-12-21 17:55:32 +0000 UTCjust want to say , that i know the movies have many funny cringey scenes but it also has many nice beautiful scenes , i know joking at these movies is funny, i laugh at alot of scenes but i would like you guys to also really pay attention since there are parts you guys miss or something, every twilight reaction i watch theres always laughing joking and missing so much of the movie since this movie has always been seen as a complete joke, i guess many of us have different views on these movies, some of the plot though is confusing and weird i understand haha but the next couple of last movies are pretty good and a bit better ! you'll probably enjoy it a bit more then this one , i feel like joking alot kinda makes you not like the movie or see the movie differently, some scenes are hilarious though so dont think im saying dont laugh, cant wait for the rest though :D

2022-12-21 17:28:20 +0000 UTCI will say that as a person with severe PTSD, I wake up with a hoarse voice from screaming in my sleep. I have done several sleep studies to try and determine a medication that will keep my body still during my night terrors, but it is a reality for actual PTSD. For teenage romance, I'd say it's a stretch.

2022-12-21 16:55:32 +0000 UTCYep it only covers the first season of the animated show, so if you guys watch it..I’d suggest squeezing it in before starting the second season of the animated series.

2022-12-21 16:51:29 +0000 UTCI watch you all watch this series for the comedy aspect, but this one will be the hardest to get through. Good intro to the Volturi anyway. You guys are my favorite reaction/commentary channel; thanks for the content! I hope your families continue to support you and all the time you spend away (with each other)!

2022-12-21 16:48:08 +0000 UTCThere's live action Airbender?!?!
Badd Medicine
2022-12-21 16:43:59 +0000 UTCYo, you guys gotta watch the live action Last airbender movie (2010) after you finish the first season. The guy who plays the weird vampire who's always staring plays Sokka on there. That's also a laughably bad movie.

2022-12-21 16:25:07 +0000 UTCThis one definitely wasn’t up for the Oscar’s 😅 but I suppose it’s necessary for the complete story. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the third one a lot more it starts to pick up, loving the reactions!

2022-12-21 16:17:02 +0000 UTCThis one conflicts me because I just think the wolves are cool 😂 but the Bella/Edward story line is just…yeah, and even the Bella/Jacob stuff is just awkward at best. Interested in seeing your reaction after I get off work today! 😁

2022-12-21 16:16:03 +0000 UTCDefinitely my least favorite movie of the series. It gets better from here. The characters actually end up having a lot of development and become much more engaging. Just hang in there 😂

2022-12-21 16:12:25 +0000 UTCThis is the worst of the movies in my opinion. The third is the best of the movies.
