This is truly one of my favorites! The other two would be the Japanese anime: Naruto and Attack on Titan. I hope you will watch both of those next π because while very different from this and each other, they are the best of the best in anime. Can you add Attack on Titan and Naruto to your next poll?

2022-12-07 18:15:01 +0000 UTCI think what several people overlook is that Aang was already recognized as an air bending master (hence the arrow tattoos). Aang has already gone through structured training, so knows how to be coached. Katarta was on her own to learn water bending.

It shows people going to war, the innocent bystanders, those affected by the war, those fighting for good and other fighting for their own convictions, using a vigilante kind of approach (like Jet). I find it interesting and somewhat realistic. The phrase 'you became the traitor when you stopped protecting innocent people' hits pretty hard when you think that the innocent civilians will always be the victims if those who can protect them don't use their abilities to protect them. That little girl who found her doll in the water after the dam was blown up or the old travelers are not the enemy. I think Jet was blinded by his emotions and lost track of what is morally good. Again, he was young when he lost his parents, so that sadness and rage built into hatred and shaped his resentment towards the fire nation as a whole. I find it interesting that the show introduced this victim to vigilante type of character.

2022-12-06 23:19:13 +0000 UTCI love how they make centered episodes. Episode nine was about Katara and episode 10 was about Sokka. Yes Aang is the Avatar, but that doesnt make him the most/only important figure. Every character in this show is a really important puzzle piece and i appreciate that so much. One of the sentences i always love when rewatching this series is: "No Jet, you became the traitor when you stopped protecting innocent people." It always gets me. And what Oak said, its a heavy topic 'for an animation'. I think he will be suprised how much this show connects to our world. When you continue to watch this show and animated films, you'll find out how extremely deep they are. Its exactly like Harry Potter. You think its kind of kidsie untill you've seen the end, doesnt matter if its an animated serie or film. And im still guilty for that to. I love animation films, but there are some i havnt seen before, because i think it may be kidsie and not interesting. Untill i see the film and think: "damn". Im happy that there was a bit more talk, especially because episode 10 had a topic and was full of lessons + lots of character growth.
