Black male comedians wearing a dress is a thing that has been talked about. Many comedians have done this and it’s been stated that it’s a way to breakthrough mainstream (white) audiences. Black masculinity is seen as a threat and black femininity is not respected and easily laughed at. But fuck Katt Williams after that deep dive.

2024-01-18 21:14:28 +0000 UTCI’m listening to the new main episode and, while I am not at AT ALL defending Katt Williams as a person, The Pimp Chronicles Part 1 is the funniest taped standup special I’ve ever seen. He has not seemed mentally stable for a long time (or ever?) but that special is truly impressive and worth watching. It does go off the rails at the end with the Michael Jackson stuff because he gets so angry talking about it in a way that is not in keeping with the tone of the rest of the special and it’s an odd way to end. Thanks for doing that deep dive. I didn’t know a lot of that stuff and it’s disgusting.
