2023-10-04 19:51:37 +0000 UTCI saw all of us strangers @ nyff and i'm not sure how I feel about it. I left feeling both devastated and a bit bored. "always on my mind" was an exceptional needledrop, for sure. much of the camera work was transcendent. in my headcanon, paul mescal was playing repressed gay in aftersun and this film functions as some sort of evolution from that. that's my just in my head -- not a bad place to be, though.
