OldSunset March 2023 Whats coming!

The month of March was fascinating for everyone who loves simulation games! The recent announcement of a competitor for The Sims was not only a topic on our channel, but also inspired new lot types for OldSunset!

Because of this, I started this month by asking myself: "How can I make the gameplay experience even more challenging than what I've been doing?" And the answer, of course, boiled down to diving into an inspiration of websites, articles and videos on the internet in search of little known but extremely interesting mods! And there was no other! There are a lot of changes coming this month to gameplay in OldSunset!! Of course, this work would not have been possible without the talented creators behind it. And as a way of crediting them for their incredible work, I've added them to my Mod List for The Sims 3.

What's coming new regarding gameplay:

Financial:

We had some financial issues at OldSunset this month. Due to last month's high interest rate, many citizens ended up choosing to leave or not move to the city. Which resulted in low income for the development of new businesses and ventures. As a consequence, it was necessary to revisit some benefits previously offered and make some changes in the city's action plans.

-From now on, Sims will be taxed when changing babies' diapers or feeding them bottles.

-The future is capitalist, so any previously free means of transport will now have to charge a fee. Similar to what already happens with taxis in the present.

-Change in billing methods. Previously, we collected housing fees once a week. We noticed that this scared the citizens, mainly due to the inflated value. Together with OldSunset Finance, we decided to change billing methods. Now they will be smaller, but they will be daily, from Monday to Friday. The amount charged will be 5% of the value of the house.

-Food values have been readjusted. The refrigerator will no longer come pre-stocked. This benefit generated large expenses for the public coffers. But don't worry, the local grocery store will provide what you need! We are already contacting new grocery chains to increase food distribution in the city!

-Your Sim can now check all Rabbit Holes for work to be done.

-Planning clothes will no longer be possible. If you want new clothes, you'll have to go to the town store to buy them.

-We had a period of recession in which we prevented citizens from opening new businesses. That period has passed, and now your Sims can go back to opening businesses of any kind in town.

-Going on vacation will cost you even more from now on. After all, destinations like Egypt, China and France are not usually so cheap!

-We're making sure that Sims who want to be parents but don't have a partner or interest in getting pregnant are able to shoulder the responsibility. Therefore, the cost of adopting the children will now be 10,000 Simoleons.

-Nannies will now be slightly more expensive. The city nannies' union was filing a number of grievances and grievances about the lack of appreciation for their work.

- Boarding schools will cost 10 times more. If you want to get rid of the kids while ensuring a quality study, make sure you have enough Simoleons for that.

-Hiring butlers from now on will only cost 6600 Simoleons. However, we make sure to provide them with the proper training to improve their food preparation!

-Maids now charge 250 Simoleons per day. This was another sector of the city that was in frequent decline. The new budget adjustment should do the trick!

-Does your Sim like paying bribes to access the hottest spots in town? Even though OldSunset doesn't have any bouncers yet, when they do, they'll have to pay even more!

-Hiring Mixology services has become less accessible. The value is now 500 Simoleons per day. We were having a lot of problems with citizens missing work due to hangovers from the day before.

-It's been a while since newspaper delivery people spread their sheets around the city. Although your Sim will be able to re-subscribe the service at no cost, due to financial adjustments, you will now need to pay 5 Simoleons to receive the newspaper.

-We don't have a potion shop yet. But, targeting nature lovers who love natural options to solve physical and emotional problems, we are already increasing a double fee for purchasing potions.

-Did you break the fridge? How about learning the skill of mechanics? Because now the repair service will cost more! 500 Simoleons.

-New freelance job options added to town hall: Professional Chess Player, Street Artist, Collector, Hacker, Trainer, Repairman and Martial Artist.

-Garbage collector profession added to the game (unfortunately no translation for PT-BR).

Gameplay:

-Now, your Sims can ask or receive advice (in the translation of this mod I added several localized jokes or catchphrases from The Sims 1).

-Your Sim's needs will drop smoothly but steadily. After all, no one goes the whole day without eating and still feels at ease.

-Sims with certain traits like Relaxed for example, will be able to alleviate the need for a bladder while taking a shower.

-Sims that stop practicing their skills will start to lose them.

-There will be no more Zombies on the Full Moon. City Hall hired a team of exterminators to deal with the afterlife problems that were occurring across the city.

-Your neighbors may eventually (if they so wish) invite you to live with them.

-The large production of food, sacrifices its quality. Which means that from now on, food will fill your need bar less.

Lots:

All these adjustments allowed us to add some news to the city! Inspired by Simcity, we now have a junkyard, better known as: Garbage Collector.

Inspired by Life By You we decided to incorporate the first car dealership to OldSunset! Here you can buy motorcycles, cars, bicycles and whatever else you are looking for!

We were getting complaints of children walking too close to the city's power towers. We've reinforced security with a fence and access door. If we're lucky, those little brats won't know how to unlock it! (Tomb alert on this lot in the future)

With the new addition to the urban area of the city, we realized that the OldSunset Bay landscaping work needed to be revisited.

That's why we hired some talented landscapers to give the beach in the urban area a more appropriate and inviting look! No more empty, lifeless sandbars. It's time to get out of the apartments and go for a swim!

Next to the lighthouse we also had improvements!

During that month the Mods folder was completely revised. Only two mods were merged (replacement of taxis and police cars), others were removed and several mods were added. The conflict issues boil down to Store items (which despite having conflicts according to Sims3Dashboard work perfectly fine in the game).

Folders have been completely reorganized, and several Nrass Errortrap logs have been analyzed. Previously some merged mods could have issues with other unmerged content. For that, I spent a long time reviewing everything to make sure that the mods presented worked correctly and without conflict or corruption.

While working on the current edition of OldSunset I ventured out for a few days on a smaller (medium) version of the map focused on High Performance. I'm still carrying out tests to find out the viability of this project. One thing is for sure: The lots are extremely reduced (15x15) but still look similar to what we have in the current version of the map. Look:

Projects like this one end up triggering new ideas for OldSunset. Including overhauling some lots to make them more accessible to new townspeople. (This is an issue that will need a lot of review in the future, everything is too expensive for new residents).

I hope you enjoyed the news and are excited to venture into the new version of OldSunset! As always, thanks for the support. I am open to criticism and suggestions. Tomorrow the download with more information will be available!! <3
