Breaking the December silence over Oldsunset!
Added 2022-12-15 00:47:15 +0000 UTCWhat's up guys! After a long silence I'm back with lots of interesting news about OldSunset's progress this month. Prepared?
So far we have developed 5 new lots:
-A commercial space that your Sim can rent to build their own business in the countryside. (Perfect for thrift stores or something like that)

-The first OldSunset Equestrian: It will function as a Rabbit hole but it still needs more finishing touches until the 28th to be charming.

-Nectar Producer: With a look inspired by concept art from The Sims 4, this producer has everything your Sim needs to produce and enjoy the Best Nectar in the neighborhood!

-Port: Despite being ambitious, it was developed based on a simple pier project to moor houseboats in OldSunset Bay. No images for now. It's a simple project.
Now comes my favorite part! Building worlds opens up space for creation, invention and new discoveries! I recently discovered a Mod that requires our Sims to gas up their cars in order to use them, so I created OldSunset's FIRST Gas Station! Yep, definitely the ONLY place your Sims will be able to get gas.

The premise is simple: Visit the lot, that way your Sim will park the car in one of the spaces, and then you click on the car and choose whether you want fossil or green fuel. The gas pumps are hidden inside the pillars, but the animation takes place around the car, so there's nothing to worry about!

Well... This mod made me think of so many other possibilities that until then only existed in the world of ideas and I thought: Why not create a bus terminal? Even if, just decorative in that first moment? So we have a bus station in OldSunset. The lot is residential and could be home to your new Sims or just a secluded high point of civilization.
I thought: If we can have this kind of decorative location in The Sims 2, why not in The Sims 3 too?

These are the main news around the lots. But there's something else coming around. I translated to PT-BR a mod that completely overhauls The Sims 3 Professions system.
In other words, your Sim will now need to use the Newspaper or Computer to check the classifieds for a job. Opportunities are randomly generated and each day there is a variation in opportunities on the job market in OldSunset.
Click on lots to get a job? No more. From now on, you will be invited to experience The Sims OldSchool, reliving an experience similar to The Sims 2, but with a higher degree of difficulty. That's because, after choosing the desired job, your Sim will go to the workplace to leave their resume and schedule an interview.
With the interview scheduled, between 24 and 48 hours later your Sim will return to the workplace, taking the risk of being or not approved for this job. (So far I've failed the two interviews I've done).
Maybe some people feel slightly frustrated with this extra "difficulty". But trust me, this degree of complexity will make your gameplay more fun and challenging. That's because the chances of being hired will depend on: Your education, skill level and mood. Will your Sim be able to handle it?
In addition, we have new replacements for Taxis and police cars at the stop. Rebuilding that old-time experience required new designs. And of course the pieces are not mine, but by a talented artist who made it all happen.

I'm still delighted with these replacements! If you want to download them they are available on thesimscars website!

There was a lack of tax incentives for OldSunset to install Metros around the world. With the new mod that charges your Sims a small fee for using public transport, OldSunset should undergo some adaptation in the coming months to incorporate this new way of getting around the city.
I hope you've enjoyed the news so far. I'm going to the ends of the internet to find mods and ideas that provide a gaming experience unlike anything else. And as always, I'm open to ideas and suggestions. Thanks for your support and sticking with us this far! <3
