March is bringing big changes to OldSunset!

This has been a big month for OldSunset and it's bringing with it considerable changes, ranging from tweaks to improvements and overhauls!

In March, when we hit 4,000 subscribers on the YouTube channel, I presented the community with an exclusive version of OldSunset, which helped me gather even more feedback to improve the map. Some people were confused by lots that were completely black inside, or apartment lots that spawned roommates without their consent.

Clearly, this confirmed an aspect of the gameplay that needed fixing. So here's the list of things that changed from February to now:

-The world has been given a green diet. We've removed excess plants around the map to make it more pleasant both up close and far away, while still being realistic and congruent.

-All batches again underwent adaptations. Once the surrounding vegetation was corrected, it was necessary to remove the excesses that prevented several plots from being appreciated from a distance. Change made.

-The decorative lots that previously had their interior all colored in black, now received rooms and floor and wall textures. This is still a work in progress so you will see 2 or 4 batches in the previous pattern yet. But we are already changing. Remember: This is not the final work.

-Some decorative lots have started to receive furniture, but a texture and finish adjustment has not yet been carried out, so consider them in the construction process. The OldSunset Developer Is Doing Their Best To Deliver The Best In The Current Timeframe.

-By the way, we have removed from ALL residential lots, skipped floor or public room markers. I can imagine how frustrating it must have been to try to edit any batch and get the message that it was forbidden. I know, after all I always needed to keep activating "Testingcheatsenabled true" and "Restrictbuildbuyinbuildings off" right after. So by removing the markers, you are now free to do whatever you want with the town houses.

-All lots that contained a building in their icon, became residential lots, to avoid the generation of strange individuals within their family nucleus. This kind of lot was actually from University Life and not from Late Night Hahah Sorry for that misunderstanding.

-OldSunset underwent above average retexturing work. The green hills gave way to rocky mountains, adjusting the map's weather for an even more realistic look that resembles mountainous regions, with Temperate weather (did I get this explanation right?) Anyway, I bet you've never seen anything like it on any other map from The Sims 3.

-To counterbalance these changes, seen for the first time in the public version (which looked like it had been bathed in oil) I tried to put more emphasis on green in the regions where it should stand out in relation to the rocks. After all, not everything needs to be so gray, right?

- Added 24 NEW roof variations to transform the look of OldSunset. I was already tired of always using the same 2 roofs that I considered the best.

-I ended up getting carried away and created replacements for the eyes. Don't blame me, my development schedule includes trying new things out of my comfort zone. And I loved the result. (To find out how I reached this level of definition in Simulation mode, check out this tutorial where I teach)

-Speaking of replacements.. I created a new variation for the azaleas that are now like daisies, but red. I much prefer this texture over its old variant which was kind of blurry.

-I did the same for white and purple hydrangeas, despite never having used them. Perhaps this was the reason. I didn't feel good in those colors!

-The main gray rocks in the buy/build mode, as well as one or two scattered around the OldSunset map, received high quality texture replacements to match the new mountains on the map.

-The urban center was revitalized and underwent changes in relation to the position, format and size of several lots.

-The dog plaza was too human. Received a play area in the center of the park. Much better right?

-Due to all these changes, I had little time to invest in creating new lots, so we are getting two new houses in town.

-The world is more optimized than ever! More than 8000 invisible objects have been removed from the global layer, making the map even more responsive! With each new update

-Looking from a distance, I felt that the camping trails were weirdly highlighted and decided to remove them to make the path to these lots (in the future) more natural and fun. I mean, there isn't always a dirt track to make new discoveries on every horizon, do you agree?

-The sidewalk behind the school that went up to the high region circle was also removed. The same way as the footpath on the mountain next to the beach. I confess that I ended up getting excited at the beginning creating so many possibilities and paths that maybe, your Sims would never use...

-The lighting mod has been revised, making the transition between times of day/weather more pleasant and smooth. In addition to slightly more saturated tones. If you encounter any issues regarding this, be sure to take a screenshot and let me know. This feedback is very important!

-One of the main focuses of this update was to make the main beach region even more pleasant and versatile and for that, several new decoration elements were added. These improvements will be replicated across the map in the coming months to make each district even more unique!

An important suggestion before concluding: All changes were applied from the color perspective used through Ansel and Reshade filters. I strongly recommend using the same standards if you want to see the world from the same perspective. I share for download and teach you how to configure all of this in my Optimization video for The Sims 3 version 2022. However, if you can't or have access to these means, I recommend that you eventually make small adjustments to colors that you feel can naturally appear light or dark. too much.

Hope you enjoyed all the updates. Get your game ready because soon the map will be available for download for all supporters!

And as always, thank you for your frequent support <3 Without you none of this would be possible!
