EARLY ACCESS - Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince FULL REACTION

Here we go! Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince! Wow folks! This movie was amazing! Looking back at the beginning to where we are now, this has progressed amazingly! And you weren’t kidding! Like… at all! This movie has us amped up for the final 2 movies and honestly, we aren’t ready for the journey to end!

We appreciate you and the support you give us! We can’t thank you enough! Hope you enjoy the reaction!

EARLY ACCESS - Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince FULL REACTION

Comments

Fact from the books the black family like the malfoys were always sorted into Slytherin. However, Sirius wasn't like his pure blood family and was sorted into Gryffindor with James Potter, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew aka the marauders

Cory Clark

I hear what you're saying its a reaction video... however we pay to be here and our allowed to have valid complaints. stop acting like you make the rules. if you don't wanna hear peoples opinions/ complaints then you should stop reading comments. not everyone is gonna have the same opinion as you.

Chan0G

like i said, if oak annoys you, then leave, its very simple, if my comments annoy you, leave the conversation, once again, its very simple

Jaylen

Um no, that’s a valid complaint lol. It’s genuinely frustrating when Oak is talking about how something doesn’t make sense, and the characters are explaining what’s going on AS he’s talking. Also, this is a comment section. Maybe YOU don’t read the comments if you’re so easily upset by them.

Human bot

if you want to watch the movie watch the fcking movie yourself.......this is a reaction channel 😭

Jaylen

Can someone tell Oak to stop talking too much? He kept talking, and talking has distracted me from watching the movie.🙄

Chris Sk.

The Jim Kay books, right? They are such beautiful editions. He retired from the project with book 6 and 7 still not produced, but I know the publishers have been looking for another talented artist to replace him. I nnnnnnneed book 6 and 7 in this stunning illustrated edition!

Kirstine Aaen

you guys always manage to talk over the most important parts

emma

I did actually meet Tom Felton at a comic con, incredibly nice guy! also met the twins who were also so so sweet!

Jerrica

Same! I remember waiting in agony and then rushing over to Barnes and Noble when it released.

trunovelT

One more before bed 🤗 ty guys for reacting to these! I love that you're open to doing anything on the channel as someone who enjoys basically all genres lol

Sarah

He still hated by a lot. I wouldnt say snape was necessarily a good person. he played on the right side and did good things but I would not say a good person. He would have stayed a DE if Voldy never targeted Lily. He was a miserable person in the books and was a bully to children and obsessed with a girl who stopped being friends with him for good reasons. From a young age he was interested in the dark arts and became a DE as a teenager. He was okay with a baby dying but only wanted Lily spared. Hes a very gray character. As for Draco he has more leeway being a child but he was still very blood racist and proud to have been chosen to be a DE. It is very split in the fandom when it comes to Snape. Alan made him more sympathetic than he was in the books.

Katie

I was just thinking about something. Now you'll see all over the internet and on Facebook that when an actor dies from the HP franchise, there's this gif of the students raising their wand, with the light at the tip, everywhere on social media. On their birthday or on their death anniversary too, as remembrance, a tribute. It's kind of a memorial. It's awesome, and very touching.

KarySky

🤜🤛😁 thank you for sharing this

Badd Medicine

My first comment on Patreon, and yes, I'm aware that I'm one year late, but I joined Patreon especially for these HP reactions after binge watching your reactions to Hunger Games and LotR. I can now spoil anything since everyone watched it. Snape has always been my favorite character, and he's probably my favorite character of all time. I remember your reaction to Hunger Games, when you said that Philip Seymour Hoffman couldn't be cast as a one-dimensional villain, well it's the same thing with Alan Rickman. I love Snape, so much. But back in the day, when Book 6 came out, Snape was HATED. And I mean, HATED. Very few people sticked by him, but I was one of them. I got insulted on the internet, on forums (yeah, forums at that time), I got bullied because I tried telling people that there was more to the story, that there were many hints that Snape was complicated, but ultimately good. Fans were mean to me, I got out of the HP forums. I was older than the average fan (around 20-22 years old at that time), so perhaps I was more mature and I could see and love the morally grey side of Snape. Anyhow, it's refreshing to see you see the good sides of Snape and Malfoy. I remember also that, in your reaction of the third movie, you really loved the fact that Sirius tell Harry that he is a good person to whom bad things happened. It's the same with Draco and Snape, in the end :) Anyway, off to bed, it's midnight. Can't wait to see your reactions to DH parts 1 and 2 :)

KarySky

You could use headphones to watch along or you could turn them down and your volume up. There are solutions to your problem that are NOT changing the reaction format that so many other people love. Also, it is, in fact, reacting to be talking a lot about what you're seeing ESPECIALLY in a film with so many details in it. I fully respect your opinion, but to be completely frank with you you should watch the films first and then come back. Everyone else is vibing. Following the film isn't the point of watching reaction content the point is to watch their reactions. If you want to see the film for the first time this is probably not the best way to do that. The whole point is to watch their reaction, not to watch the film for the first time necessarily. I say this with all love and respect. <3

Badd Medicine

Me too. Love them!

Amy Nelson

I loved watching this with you guys. This and prisoner of Azkaban are my favourites. There’s something so great about watching a movie you love with someone who’s never seen it. I felt bad for Malfoy in this one. You could see the emotion about the decisions he had to make. Can’t wait to watch the next one with you guys ❤️

Amy Nelson

Grandma’s4GreatReacts

Narration throughout the entire movie is NOT reacting guys! If a person is watching the movie for the first time, it’s truly hard to follow the dialogue with so much talking. Remember, you guys have on earphones so you can still hear the dialogue but those who watch with you, the constant reading everything, guessing what’s about to happen or foretelling events are VERY distracting! It’s not as bad when the movie is a re-watch but you have to know that just like you some of us have never seen the movie. If you speak between the dialogue would help but just know that when you say what the characters are feelings, thinking, it interferes with the viewers imagination! We want to think for ourselves as we follow the story. Giving an idea before we can figure it out (BTW) sometimes you’re wrong … and sometimes a lot…it makes the viewer have to either tune you out, turn down your volume, etc. … then, how can we enjoy you? There’s got to be a happy medium so first time viewers of movies can enjoy the movie and the gang…don’t mean to complain but maybe I don’t know the rules…should I have already seen the movies before watching with you. Mr. Oak especially talks a lot about things not even related to the movie…love you man but golly gee…you say you don’t know what happening or that you’re lost…but that’s only because you’re having a conversation about another movie across an important line. I say it in love and I value your comments as well as Mason’s and Answers…I WANT to hear your thoughts but it’s hard to listen to you and follow the movie…

10 months later and I'm still coming back to these reactions ❤️

Shelley

It was torture after I read the book to have to wait for the final book to understand why Snape killed Dumbledore. You guys had it easy with a quick jump from movie 6 to movie 7 and 8!

Ginger

Thank you, James! We appreciate the support and glad you are enjoying🤘

Badd Medicine

I joined this patreon just because of these reactions. Really enjoying this

James Ventola

Yeah, took us a minute, but we eventually for it 🤣🤙

Badd Medicine

The ONLY reason I knew the proper pronunciation of the VERY English name Hermione Granger is because TWO of my FAVORITE British comedic character actresses from my childhood in the 60s and 70s were Hermione Baddeley and Hermione Gingold.

David W Richards

Hello. In the tier we mention it's a watch along format. 🤙 Due to copyright laws, we aren't taking the chance of losing our Patreon.

Christina Palas

Always cool to see what impact this has had on everyone

Badd Medicine

Never has a series capture my attention quite like Harry Potter. Sure LOTR is great, Star Wars is cool. But hogwarts is where every kid that read the books and watched the movies has wanted to visit. You guys should check out the trailer for the New Hogwarts legacy Video game, it was mind blowing to watch as a hogwarts fan.

Third Division

just listened to Oak's wrap up about how people can change...when talkin about Malfoy .. and I got instant Rocky 4 ending vibes with the everybody can change speech !

Try it now. 🤙

hey is the download option available ? It was in order but i cant find it for half blood.. Thanks

💛Hello guys, you're on point with the historical references to racism and that specific time in war history. I remember interviews where JK said yes, the story is like a metaphor for racism, but only because she once  worked in an international hub where she saw it all the time. It's not a bad thing, as art always tries to work out real problems and find solutions to social and personal problems. I get the feeling that many younger viewers don't get that it's okay for fiction to tackle tough issues, even issues like slavery. (I'm black and writing fiction is really the best way to explore issues in a risk-free way.) Marketing and commercialism did its best to present the books in prepackaged, child-friendly wrappings. However, that was only the surface of the water, and publishers didn't quite know how to foresee the depth and seriousness that JK Rowling would go, by the series end. This was Mrs. Rowling's therapeutic way of dealing with conflicting cultures. She worked out her frustrations through fiction. It's the ultimate life lesson to be tolerant and accepting of other cultures, so it's not as creepy to venture into the subject of racism as it might first seem.In this age where people are so easily offended, we must keep in mind serious pain gets exercised and lifted off when writers work it out on paper. For some it's called journaling, for others, it's making up stories about the things that bother them.  Good job on your reactions. You guys were so quiet and into it this time around. I love how you're all so enthusiastic and won over. All of your commentaries are fun. I must say, I really listen for the new perspectives that come out of The Oak's commentaries. He's always so shocked at the quality and maturity of this story and that reminds me of my own lessons to not let society structure how I see something I've never been exposed to. Labels are useful, but we all get misled by them. So Oak's revelations are our revelations too. Also, I'm not sure if it's been pointed out to you but elves in Dobby's world love working for people who are kind to them (unlike the Mafoys). In the book, Hermione tried to free them and they didn't want that at all. Thank you guys for a great show! I can't wait to watch the final movie with you. ❤💛☺🌹

Omni

That's actually really cool to hear about AR.

Badd Medicine

That was actually my favourite book out of the series sadly the put more focus on the teenage ove stuff, then on the Pensieve (Memory stuff). In the book we get the WHOLE Background story of Lord No Nose XD BTW - I am always laughing when you are oing your "bubi" thing. Bubi back here in germany used to be the term for a very small, male child (before WW2 - female version would be Mädi) Not sure if this revers to Die hard (never watched that one) (and no I am not that old - but I used to read my moms old children books and one is called "Bubi and Mädi" and it deals with wins - a boy and a girl I am older then the usual HP fans though, I was alreadyin university (so 19 when the books came out) My children were forced to grow up with Harry Potter.

Dara Jeeling

Nobody told Alan Rickman how to do things. It was the other way round. Alan Rickman had a vital piece of information on his character and he used to act on it - even tellinf the directors "I am doing it this way. you'll find out why - once the series ends" sort of. He never revealed the piece of information, since hepromised JKR not to and even after the films were all out he stated that there would be kids readin/watching and if he told he might spoil it for them. I think it's just his very unique way to talk. Altough...he talked different as Sherif of Nottingham

Dara Jeeling

😁😁😁👍👍👍

Badd Medicine

Since thankfully I got this week of - I am here. I am stoked to watch you guys watch this. God I can not wait!

Thank you! We appreciate it and glad you are enjoying the discussion after. 🤘

Great stuff here Jackie. We have discussed a possibility wrap video for Potter.

Badd Medicine

all i want to say is i love the oak! and please please feel free to have long discussions at the end - honestly more interesting than the reaction itself in a way :)

aly

I’m in that target generation that grew up alongside the characters and I truly believe this series helped shape me as a person. Beyond the epic story and magical world-building, there’s just so much to take away from HP… what it means to be a good friend, how to treat people who are different from you, how to speak up and stand against injustice. The concept of a chosen family. The power of being vulnerable. And, as Dumbledore says in GOF, what it means to have “outstanding moral fiber”! Sadly, we aren’t all lucky enough to learn these lessons from our parents, and there’s no class in school on How To Be a Good Person. But I can tell you that reading these books as a kid and recognizing your own prejudices is eye-opening. When life gets hard, we all have our anchors that we turn to for comfort. Music, food, sports, etc. For me, it’s Harry Potter. This series is so special to me and it’s been a joy to watch you guys experience it for the first time. ❤️ Oak mentioned the long discussions post-filming... I’d personally love to see more of those conversations! Maybe even a separate post-movie discussion video where you go into more detail about the plot, characters, predictions, etc. Even if you don’t have polished thoughts yet and you’re working out the concepts as you go. That’s the kind of stuff us Potter fans LOVE to talk about to no end. Just a thought! I know we’re getting near the end, can’t wait for the next two!

Jackie O'Donnell

Hahaha we appreciate you dropping knowledge. Don't feel like you can't! 🤘🤙

Badd Medicine

Hey, kind of a spoiler on that last point. Don’t go spoiling

Ms. LilO Ang SASSILY

I’m trying to catch up on all the full movie reactions instead of just on YouTube! 👩🏼‍💻 But, I just need to enjoy watching the reaction instead of sharing all my knowledge with y’all because it’s too much information I have lol It’s a mixture of being nerdy in my favorite topics/areas and my passion for a lot of different things. So if y’all want or need help with the movie series just let me know if you have questions so I can help in anyway I can without dumping so much information on each video 🤣 Sooooo, here’s to another awesome reaction from y’all and where I joined the watch party late… like usual for me. ❤️

Ms. LilO Ang SASSILY

Yes, 2 part. Can't wait! 🤘

Badd Medicine

I'm sure the kiddos will love them

Badd Medicine

It's not too complicated, Snape's father was a muggle and his mother was a witch. He struggled with prejudice against non-magical folk, so he would sometime refer to himself using the magical-blooded side of the family after his mother, Eileen Prince.

Mister_Momus

Thank you and thanks for the kind words. We appreciate it. You that everything was heavy. Really looking forward to the last 2.

Badd Medicine

Dang! Completely missed that! Nick was great btw. 🤙

Badd Medicine

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed😁👍

Badd Medicine

Reddit cool to see stories like this🤙 thanks for sharing.

Badd Medicine

Book 7 is “two towers”. Imagine making that movie 1.5 hours. When all done, you can’t imagine book 7 being 1 movie. So movie 7 is really good. Necessary. A lot happen s. Action. But 8 is helms deep and the ents.

Karl

Remember that 7 and 8 are really essentially one movie split in half, so 7 won't necessarily have the resolution at the end you might expect. But all the detail in 7 is there for a reason. Lastly, here's the filthy joke of the Half-Blood Prince: "That's not toothpaste."

Tom Ekstrand

Knowing how much I loved growing up with these books, geeking out with my friends about these books and movies as they were released, and even crying with my Mom while reading this book when Dumbledore dies - I'm gearing up for bringing the sereis into my kiddo's life in a similar way. I'm actually collecting the illustrated version of the books for him. They're a bit spendy and only have 4 our so far, but over time (he's 1) I hope he likes it and perhaps can learn some life lessons along the way, too. Great journey to watch your reactions so far - loving this content! Thanks.

Jennifer K

I had to come back to give a proper comment after watching it last night. It was a joy to see you react so animatedly, there were many points where you had not even finished reacting to one thing when another happened. It was fun to see. But also the silence at the end when you were clearly focused trying to understand what was going on. I'm now more excited than ever to see your reactions to the last two movies! I personally rewatch the 8th movie a lot, with 5 and 6 as well. When Oak said he might have to rewatch this before seeing the next - that's how you know he's deep into this :D p.s. I really wouldn't mind listening you talk longer about your thoughts at the end, it's nice to listen to

Meeri p

The young Tom Riddle, the one that asks about the horcruxes, is Nick from Fear the walking dead.

Sandra

Another great show! Laughed a lot. Now starting with your LOTR journey until the new HP reaction comes out.

Dasypodidae

i was about 9 when part 1 and 2 came out and saw them both in the cinema with my dad. the one thing we both connect on is movies and i remember him convincing me to see part 2 and me trying not to go but i did. it still to this day was one of the most beautiful experiences i’ve ever had. you could hear a pin drop in the opening scene, the music was so breathtaking my heart was beating so fast lol. enjoy guys :)

Tobias Castor

That's why I really appreciate your reactions and commentary, you guys are so fun and thoughtful :)

Tx28

If you ever go to the HP theme park and make a vlog out of it, i'm pretty sure a lot of us would watch it, your reaction to butterbeer would be great as well, (frozen butterbeer to me is FANTASTIC and i love it but my best friend absolutely hates it). It's truly a magical place! I can't believe it's almost over either, only 2 weeks left. It's so bittersweet!

patricia jimjimcherie

I feel like the one Daniel told in the 20 year special is probably the correct one. Dan said Rickman went to JK early on and asked to know what happens with Snapes character.

Brittany Lewandowski

Great stuff here! We are pumped for the last 2! 😁😁👍👍

Badd Medicine

I love that you guys realized how troubled Draco is, with the expectations put upon him by his father, because of who his father is associating himself with and their family standing in the wizarding world. If you're peeling away all of those outside influences, you could really see who Draco could have become. Unfortunately, it is quite difficult to get free from years of being subjected to belittlement by his father and to his family considering Muggles/Muggle borns/half-blood as lesser than pure bloods. Also, when I first watched the movie, I was confused about those creatures at the end, when Harry tries to get water from the lake (since I read the books after watching the movie). In the movies, you hear a lot about disappearances of witches, wizards (but also of Muggles) but in the books, you learn that those people end up as zombie-like creatures or Inferi, dead bodies reanimated by Voldemort's dark magic. As others have said, they have cut out a lot of interesting flashbacks in the Pensieve, about Voldemort's childhood. They also skipped Snape's family history, which explains why he called himself the "Half-blood prince" The last two movies are an emotional rollercoaster. Keep it up guys !!

L AH

Hi Brittany. I've read three different versions about Rickman. The one you told, the one I told and another where Rowling approached him before he was even offered the role at all. Regardless of which one it right, I've always felt the important part was that Rickman was offered insider information that no one else had. For an actor (or anyone) that's a great experience.

Jain Thorne

@JainThorne all good. Looking forward to them. Seen some other comments that say to watch them too.

Badd Medicine

I agree. Those scenes are amazing and I'm sorry they were deleted.

Jain Thorne

Thank you! We appreciate this! Hope you got some sleep! 😁👍

Badd Medicine

Really disappointing when they do that. Some fried scenes are gold and makes you wonder why they didn't use them.

Badd Medicine

We will see what we can do 🤙😁

Badd Medicine

Looking forward to the last 2 😁😁😁

Badd Medicine

Great perspective you have here. 🤙

Badd Medicine

😁😁👍👍

Badd Medicine

Also interesting to hear the details about getting the part

Badd Medicine

Thank you for reminder! 🤙🤙🤙

Badd Medicine

🤣🤣🤙🤙

Badd Medicine

We aren't ready for it to end! 🤣👍

Badd Medicine

😁😁👍👍👍 thank you! We appreciate it 🤙

Badd Medicine

Yeah, lots of lessons and drop meaning throughout. Thanks again for watching 🤙

Badd Medicine

Oak thought the same then the 3rd movie he started getting hooked and now you see he's completely invested. Now we all can't wait for the last 2, but we aren't ready for it to be over. Lol

Badd Medicine

We know about Star Wars, but never seen the movies. We got hooked on LOTRs thanks to everyone pushing us to watch them. I would say there are shades for sure as you mentioned for Harry. Going to be crazy to see how Harry does in the next 2 films.

Badd Medicine

Thank you for dropping a comment here. Great stuff here! We definitely need to HP theme park. Some others have also said it's a great experience. We are looking forward to the next 2. Can't believe it's almost over.

Badd Medicine

Great to hear about your sister. And we would say the power of media is pretty strong. We will use HP fans as the example. Just an amazing community of all walks of life and the impact this franchise has had on people is truly amazing.

Badd Medicine

Thank you! Really looking forward to the last 2 but we don't want it to end just yet lol

Badd Medicine

Can't believe we are going to be on the last 2.

Badd Medicine

Yup. That's the vibe we got.

Badd Medicine

😁👍

Badd Medicine

Agree, it could be interesting to see your book reviews. What you think of them in regards to the movies and and get some of the plotholes from movies filled out. And if you are more into audiobooks I can recommend the version with stephen fry.

Louise Green

I was about to go to bed, when the notification came, and naturally, I started my PC and watched the reaction 🤣 The next two movies are my two least favorite, but only because its ending (also the tone of DH1 is pretty depressing, at least in my opinion). I'm one of these people who skips the finale of a show or a movieseries, to not feel sad 🤣 I just don't like endings. 🥲 But this time I'll soldier through.🤣Your reactions are worth it :D Brilliant reaction, probably my favorite one until now! :D

Anniinii

Wow, I'm such a fan of these reactions, I'm so sad that it'll be over soon. I've seen a few people mention it in the comments, but watching the deleted scenes for the next movie is super important! There's some character growth that you'll miss out on if you don't and it's actually pretty disappointing that it was cut from the movie.

Steph B

Maybe after finishing watching the movies, you guys will do reviews to the books as well. It's also good for content and the algorithm. Movies 4, 5 and 6 leave a lot of the source material out.

Rhiannon

She didn't explain his character arc until after he took the role. He was going to quit after Chamber because he thought Snape was an "unchanging costume" So JK told him so he'd stay on as Snape.

Brittany Lewandowski

I would probably remove the Snape part. Don't want to give even a little of that away.

Brittany Lewandowski

Narcissa (Draco's mother) Bellatrix and Andromeda (Tonk's mom) are all sisters. Narcissa married Lucius Malfoy. Bellatrix married Rodolphus Lestrange and Andromeda married Ted Tonks, but they are all part of the Black family. (EDIT: Theres a fan film on youtube called Sisters of House Black. Would be a fun watch on your own time. A bit of backstory for the sisters and how they ended up where they did) Fred and Geroge were able to work on their shop cause of Harry. After the Tri Wizard tournament, Harry won a lot of money, and since he clearly doesn't need it, he gave it to the twins. Harry knew how much the twins could succeed if given the chance. Draco...his character arc is crazy going on. We always see him as the bully, but this movie we really see Draco learning a lot about himself. He has to make his family proud, especially given his father is in Azkaban during this film. He has to try and prove himself to get his family off the hook with Voldemort. Yet he realizes its more then he bargained for. Last two movies....You are in for a treat. However, Snape's character is fully reviled in the last movie. You will learn so much about Snape and everything in this film will make sense. Oh and a few people already mentioned this, Ginny in the movie is nowhere near as good as she is in the book. The movies just don't do her justice. If you ever looked into reading the books or listening to the audio books...you will love Ginny!

Kunzite Blossom

Omg same!! It was the first movie I watched after reading all the books! There was a huge gap between order of the phoenix and hbp. I picked it up thinking I'll read this it will be fine. I had no clue what was going on. Went back read the whole series. I was so excited to see all of the memories and then I was so disappointed. And yes I wish it showed Ginnys concern of him being obsessed with the book. That was a nice call back to chamber of secrets. Harry potter is what got me into reading.

important nobody

This movie is great, but it is my least favorite adaption in the series. (I think because I didn't start reading the books until the 5th movie was out and this was the first in the series I saw knowing what was going to happen and what I wanted to see). But personally, I didn't love how much they leaned into the teen angst of the book (although with the dark themes I get why the comedy is needed). I think the movie should have definitely included more of the half-blood prince stuff and Harry's obsession. From what I remember, Harry trusted the HBP completely, almost like a friend, so Snape's decision/reveal at the end hit him twice as hard in the books. Anyway, great reaction guys! Looking forward to the final 2!

LV

lol. We arent ready for this to end lol.

Badd Medicine

Dig it

Badd Medicine

Yeah this one was wild. Really really good! And yes, kind of feel bad for Draco.

Badd Medicine

Yes. A 2 parter. Gosh.... its almost over for us lol.

Badd Medicine

watching your reaction made me remember why I love Harry Potter so much, im going to read the whole serie again, thank you so much for the reaction and i love harry potter world sooooo much

Very cool!

Badd Medicine

hahahaha Let's goooo

Figured they would've.

All good. I didn't take it as complaining.

Badd Medicine

Dang it. Missed that. Now I will need to go back and check it.

Badd Medicine

He did wonderful here!

Badd Medicine

Hell yeah. We appreciate it. Just know the energy you all bring gets up pumped up!

Badd Medicine

Jain Thorne

Just another reminder to watch the deletes scene for the next movie after you watch it. On video or not doesn't matter. In particular you need/should watch the Petunia/dudley deleted scenes, those are the important ones.

Brittany Lewandowski

I need all of you to be sorted with your own wands by the next one 🤣 also I find books a million and hot topic to be my favorite places to get merch

Meghan Renee

Ginny Weasley is another treasure that the movies did kinda dirty but in all fairness the movies can only do so much and they had to highlight the parts they believed to be the most crucial to the story. Be mindful that the books were NOT finished when the movies started, I think it was 2007, (I remember because I was at the midnight release and I had 4 hours to sleep before leaving for a drive to flordia, like... 8 or 10 hours, and I remember refusing to sleep and getting like 30 minutes lol) when Deathly Hallows came out and by then we were only on Order of the Pheonix AND if I remember correctly the Deathly Hallows came out AFTER that movie so even filming for the others they had to be very careful about what they chose because JK Rowling was a VAULT she did not give any clues or hints to anyone, except one person as to how the story would end. So being picky is a little unreasonable to me but now in the age of books being 10 episode long tv shows of 40 minutes or more, had we had that kind of entertainment we might have seen so much more. I adore Draco much more after this movie and Oak I am so glad you picked it up. Draco is a Product of his family, that doesn't excuse the bad things he does but as the story progresses from childhood to now you are right, he is very much a child trying to differentiate between what is good and what is easy. He is a very important character to this story for this reason and so many others. As always its awesome watching you guys with these movies, I want so badly to give you all the tidbits, but it's late and past my bedtime 🤣 I can't wait for you guys to see the rest. There are some BIG BIG Gaps when compared to the books try to stick with the basics of the story though. It would be so cool if you guys watch the deleted scenes after if you can (without spoilers) and maybe record your reactions because some of them are just pure gold. (One in particular is my favorite). War is coming my friends. I cried no less than 8 times reading Deathly Hallows. That got brought down to a solid 4 in the movies. You seem like tough men. Maybe you will make it without any tears.

Meghan Renee

Watching the Oak go from "kids movies" to "this was phenomenal" is honestly the greatest thing ever. These reactions are phenomenal. I can't for the next two!

Aleks Bijelic

i think a big reason why this series hits so hard is because you are watching these kids grow up, you are learning the lessons they learn with them, it evolves and changes throughout in ways most franchies' are afriad to try. thanks agian guys.

Kega

Still he has his trusty sidekicks with him, determined to stay with him through the end of his journey even if it means danger to themselves. Sirius was first to go, but then Dumbledore also had to die so that Harry could become a man, figuring things out and handling stuff without his most trusted mentor.

It's so fun to watch you go through the journey! At one point I was extremely skeptical and thought this was just a kid series. I didn't like fantasy at all, but begrudgingly read the books after a friend's suggestion. I'm so glad I did. One of my favorite book series and the only books that ever made me cry. I started reading when the movies were still releasing and of course I was disappointed at the time but have seen over the years that they're good adaptations. The books are very intricate and character-driven and that's hard to fit into a movie, but they've done a pretty good job. I can't wait to see your reaction to Deathly Hallows Part 1!

So, you guys like Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. You should understand what happened in this movie. Harry is on the hero’s journey like Luke and Frodo. He is the chosen one. And sadly, part of the hero’s journey is that the hero loses his mentors before going into the final chapter. The mentors leave, and we have to trust that the hero has gained enough knowledge to finish this off.

As soon as I saw the notif I got so excited!! This is my favorite book perhaps in the series, and it's one of my favorite in the film series. It's a really sad book. There's more about Draco in the books, here you can feel some of the pressure he was under, but it's more palpable in the books, as it's described how much he changes throughout the book, from handsome young man to hollowed cheeks, dark shadows below his eyes. The way I took Draco when I read book 6 is that he was pressured into this role, at first he said "bet, imma make the most of it" acted cool, but as time went on the more terrified he got, the more his true emotions truly came to surface, "the boy with no choices" as some of the fandom started calling him. I always imagined Draco's boggart was his father, Lucius. And yes, Oak, I agree with you, always thought Draco felt trapped by what his family made him. Albus Dumbledore's death is a death I cry every single time I read, every single time I watch, I cried as soon as I saw him on the floor while i watched with you. Albus Dumbledore is perhaps one of my favorite literary characters, filmwise too, even if a lot of people don't like him (you might see why once you end the saga), but it's the very reason people dislike him is what made me truly love Dumbledore as a character, he is very complex. He's very interesting. Oh! right, the scene with Dumbledore drinking the potion in the cave? Breaks my freaking heart. I truly enjoy watching these films with you, I can't wait for the next two, which truly break my heart in pieces, but also bring a smile to my face. As I'm watching these, it makes me want to read the books again. I was able to watch the last 3 movies as midnight premieres in the theater with my friends, and the experience was amazing. I'm Peruvian and I'm travelling to the USA late September, and I'm going to Universal Orlando because I just loved the Harry Potter theme park (which I went to for the first time last year!!!), it somehow feels like home, I actually cried, when I stood in front of Hogwarts at theme park!!! My eyes actually watered and I cried, in fact, I think I cried in almost every part of the Harry Potter theme park. It feels like home to me, as dumb as it sounds. It truly feels like home. "Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home", you have no idea how true those words are to a lot of us. My comment is all over the place because I'm exhausted but hey, thought I'd leave a comment (which I normally don't do) because I really appreciate your reactions and commentary.

patricia jimjimcherie

it is also my favorite book, and this movie even with all it was missing, it was one of my favorite movies, I still complain a lot, but it's still very dear to me. It's easy for me now to separate movies from the source material, but I completely understand.

patricia jimjimcherie

Loved your reaction guys. You are absolutely right on discussing the important messages of this movies. For me personally the most important one is the power of love and friendship. I specially love how the friendship between Harry and Hermione is portrayed, as so many stories out there make friendship among men and women feel weird or rare. This story makes up for it, in my opinion. The bond among Harry, Ron and Hermione is so special, and it is so well drawn through the Harry Potter series. Harry as a character is so well done in the books as well. He is so human and so fleshed out. I always had him as a role model. I have gone through some sh*t in life, and Harry’s character has been so important for me. He taught me to be courageous, and to fight for what is right, for myself and for others. My little sister has gone through a similar experience, but with Hermione, as she was always so inspired by her… For what I have seen, it appears as her character has been a real game changer for a tone of girls out there. My sister has gone on to become a PhD and a brilliant academic. She is in creating her on stuff, in charge of her own work and leaving her mark in the world. I am so proud of her. She always says that she would have never done any of this if she hadn’t had Hermione as a personal hero and role model. I think we must never underestimate the power of media. Some people think books and movies are just random fiction meant as simple entertainment, but I disagree. Stories like this prove how important good messaging and representation are on our art and media, and how a simple story can influence the world. This HP universe has marked at least an entire generation, and I will always be grateful to Rowling for that. :)

I appreciate when you reference the books as the source material, because as you acknowledge in your recaps there’s just so much richness and detail across the book series that they could never adapt to the films as hard as they tried. It’s not just about the plot details that they skipped for time, or the characters they had to cut out, it’s how they had to water down some of the characters that they did incorporate into the movie world. Ginny Weasley is just one of many examples when it comes to character development in the films not matching the development in the book series. Overall I’ve always believed that what sets this series apart from others is how the characters grew up over the lifespan of the books, especially since I kind of grew up with them. While the movies give you a taste of that, everything is just richer when you go back to the source. Enjoy the last 2! You have some good intuition about certain developments 🙂

Awesome reaction as always. Can’t wait for you to watch the finale part 1 and 2 if you have time I would watch them back to back because there is no way you will be able to wait 1 week from part 1 to part 2.

Wattyone1

Talk about blues.. At the end there, Harry mentions we aren't coming back to Hogwarts next year. This was really a finale of sorts; an ending of our coming of age story and an open to the close. Farewell Dumbledore. Farewell Luna, Neville and Hagrid. Farewell to the children we were.

GOTnissa

Yes and harry himself even started to feel some empathy for him. For a small moment.

important nobody

YES, Thats why it's slightly easier to kind of feel bad for Voldemort. he was literally born unable to love, which would honestly turn most if not all evil. I feel like thats part of the reason majority of the fandom hate Umbridge more.

Brittany Lewandowski

The 6th book is definitely my favorite. The movie only shows 2 Tom Riddle memories but in the book, we get more in-depth info about him, his mother and what happened to her, and his family, as well as easter eggs of possible Horcruxes. And also, as you probably noticed, the Love Potion theme in this movie was very prominent, but in the book, we also get information that Tom's mother (a witch) fell in love with a muggle and she gave him love potion. Tom was then conceived under the effect of love potion, aka fake love. Which means he is incapable of feeling love nor truly understand it.

Miss_CJ

i actually caught myself shushing you guys when you were laughing about making references to other movies because you were missing important conversations 😭😂 that’s how intensely i was watching 😂😂 i’m shocked your reactions didn’t mention young tom riddle or the fact that he split his soul into seven pieces(horcruxes) so he could never die. next movie you’ll learn all about them so i hope you guys get more from that aspect! also, don’t forget the curse “avada kedavra” is one of the 3 unforgivable curses that you leaned about. it’s the killing curse. when bellatrix hit sirius with it you guys said “i wonder what spell she hit him with” and then this time around you didn’t think dumbledore was gonna die, but he was hit with the killing curse. you die when you’re hit with that, other that harry who literally is “the boy who lived” haha. part one of the next movie is not a lot of action. just horcrux hunting and storyline. then part two is the main action. so i hope you like part 1, because honestly i like the story telling a lot. just prepare yourself for alot of emotional ups and downs at the end of this franchise

I met Tom Felton (Malfoy) at a movie theater a few years ago. He held the door open for my girlfriend and I, and we chatted on the way to our cars. Really nice, cool guy.

Jason O'Rear

I think Draco Malfoy (played by Tom Felton) is quite popular 😀 it has been rumors going around that he and Emma Watson has flirted a little bit. But they are at least very food friends. All of them are. They grew up together ❤️

"Draco, do it or stand aside so one of us--" screeched the woman, but at that precise moment, the door to the ramparts burst open once more and there stood Snape, his wand clutched in his hand as his black eyes swept the scene, from Dumbledore slumped against the wall, to the four Death Eaters, including the enraged werewolf, and Malfoy. "We've got a problem, Snape," said the lumpy Amycus, whose eyes and wand were fixed alike upon Dumbledore, "the boy doesn't seem able--" But somebody else had spoken Snape's name, quite softly. "Severus..." The sound frightened Harry beyond anything he had experienced all evening. For the first time, Dumbledore was pleading. Snape said nothing, but walked forward and pushed Malfoy roughly out of the way. The three Death Eaters fell back without a word. Even the werewolf seemed cowed. Snape gazed for a moment at Dumbledore, and there was revulsion and hatred etched in the harsh lines of his face. "Severus...please..." Snape raised his wand and pointed it directly at Dumbledore. "Avada Kedavra!" -Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Chapter 27, The Lightning-Struck Tower

This is my second favorite after Order of the Phoenix, but only by a smidgen, as Quinn said. The look on your all's faces at the end says exactly how it makes you feel: a bit confused and filled with despair. This movie made me really feel for Draco. He's a scared little boy trying to prove himself and stay alive, but he's not doing well with it. The book moreso than the movie hints at darker sides of Harry and I liked the reference to "bully Maguire" and the book goes into more detail about Harry's utter obsession with the Half Blood Prince's potions book and following Draco throughout the school year.

Kitty

So glad you enjoyed it!! Keep in mind when you go into the next movie that it's only the first half of a book and you can definitely feel that. So naturally, reviewing the first half is difficult to do before you watch the second half. You should consider doing both movies on the same day to get the more full experience of The Deathly Hallows as a whole. But I understand if you can't do that.

Kamilla Mari

Now comes the fun, get ready. I don't think I can wait until next Wednesday ahah

Lorenzo Furnari

So as far as the placebo effect for the luck potion, they did discuss it more in the book than in the movie. They discuss everything more in the book.

Melanie P

This is my fave book & movie next to deathly hallows.. I shed a bucket of tears reading & watching this. And I’ve read/watched this several times already. 😅 But I was laughing at your reactions, all of you were so invested on it. 😆😆

Lou

So in the book there are so many more memories they look through. You really learn a lot about voldermorts past. You see his mom and dad. You find out that he was conceived under a love potion which makes him unable to love. You learn so much and they cut all that out and added scenes that weren't even in the book. As I said the book to film adaptation was awful and it's really hard for me to separate the two. I know its a favorite among a lot of people who hadn't read them. A part of me wishes I could have seen it before I read it to see if I would've liked it. I think a reason I'm so critical of it is this is hands down my favorite book of the series and I feel they cut so many important bits. I haven't watched the reaction yet but I am looking forward to it. Sorry if this comment came off as complaining lol.

important nobody

hes kind of unrecognisable, but did you guys notice teen Voldemort who asked about horcruxes was played by Nick from Fear The Walking Dead

A.D

I’m not sure what fans at comicons think of tom felton (draco’s actor) but I do know that he is a really sweet, smiley type of person. Draco is the opposite of his natural personality as far as i can tell. He smiles all the time.

Melanie P

So excited to watch this one. I never thought I'd be a this type of reaction guy but it really makes re-watching these with you feel like new again. I get all excited at the thought of you guys getting excited and something I've enjoyed for so long. Let's do this!
