EARLY ACCESS-Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Ring extended version FULL REACTION

LOTR Fellowship of the Ring EXTENDED VERSION and what a journey this was!

EARLY ACCESS-Lord of the Rings Fellowship of the Ring extended version FULL REACTION

Comments

Yeah it's odd that he says he likes Harry Potter so much but laughs thru LotR

June

I second this! Literally about to press play a second time to watch along. ☺️

Miya

Agreed - full watchalongs are so much better! I get misty-eyed as well when Boromir dies - he is such a tragic character; it's his experiences fighting the dark forces and fear for his kingdom and people that makes him so vulnerable to the ring's influence. We can really see his caring heart if we watch for it in how he cares for the hobbits throughout the movie and ultimately dies in defense of Merry and Pippen.

I always love going back every so often to do a full rewatch with the boys. Oak's absolute joy in seeing the source of the memes will forever put a smile on my face. And I will always laugh when Oak exclaims, "Homie gave us three memes and he's done?" when Gandalf is about to fall. Also just seeing Answer, Oak and Dave fall in love with the movie and Mason's enjoyment in this is awesome.

Paul Yu (BlehBlarghBlah)

Sorry y'all. This was like one of the first ones when we started Patreon and had no idea what was best for everyone. Wish we had the footage to adjust it.

I went by ear, mostly. Syncing up by what's happening in the movie and what they're saying in the reaction. It's fine at the start, but they lose connection to Max at about 12 minutes and 50 seconds into the movie and then go back a bit. They pick back up around where Frodo jumps into Gandalf's arms (Oak comments on the moment at 17:36 in the video, or 00.14.08.00 on the timestamp) The silver lining here is Two Towers has video in the reaction to help sync up (Return of the King unfortunately not so much).

Kyle

How did you manage to sync it up? I am having difficulties doing that.

Ashley Downey

I finally got around to the full reaction and I can say 3 things: 1) Rudy can't fail, 2) Took me a bit to realize the sync issue for me was due to an HBO Max issue a few minutes in the reaction video (of which I really should have noticed with you guys fumbling with things and rightfully complaining about the streaming service) and 3) I hope by now you've all seen the MTV Movie Awards parody of this starring Jack Black.

Kyle

Brand new patron here. It's about time! After over a year of bingeing everything on both your YT channels. I watched your YT cuts of Lord of the Rings a long time ago, but this full watchalong is 10x better. Can't believe it took me this long. Boromir's death always makes me weep.

Kirstine Aaen

Yeah... Apologies. This was one of the first times we posted on here. We were learning on the fly in the beginning.

Badd Medicine

Oo, after a few tries, I finally managed to sync up my copy! It's worth it, I was curious to see you guys reaction to the first movie since I was able to watch the other 2🤣 I can't deny being glad about the system you have now though

Nova Amore

Recently found this channel on youtube and have watched several of their reactions. Arcane, Avatar, etc etc. I always liked how much respect each person gave to the material they were reacting to. Decided to come here to see the full reaction to one of the greatest pieces of cinema of all time, and boy HOWDY did I instantly lose a ton of respect for Oak. I understand he's an older gentleman who comes from the OG era of nerd bashing and bullying for daring to openly like anything video game or fantasy related. But lordy his age was really showing at the beginning of this. I can only hope that over the course of the reactions to all three movies he comes to understand the true depth to this story and these characters, and the absolute master class in cinema that is the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Kurowscar

its like 2-3 mins ahead

Jaylen

Nope, was even mentioned it was synced wrong. There is another comment which shows when to play compared to the timer on their screen. :)

Brandon Reacts

skill issue

Jaylen

I think that is uncalled for, they always explain their reasons for scoring what they do. you have paid to watch their reactions and give THEIR opinions on these videos otherwise you could just watch the movie yourself...either way I think a 3.75 for an 1st movie in a trilogy is good score as they always seem to want to keep some marks for the chance of the next ones being better if they scored it top marks then enjoyed two towers more and then return of king even more so then they would have no way of upping their score to show that.

Lisa - Marie

This is all out of order. cant seem to sync at all time is completely different? Im watching extended too

Brandon Reacts

If you are here to just insult, why even pay?

Badd Medicine

well oaks brain couldnt even handle edge of tomorrow by tom cruise, so this probably melted it XD

MateoP

I still can't belive oak gave it a 3.75.

Eric Wallace

🍻

Badd Medicine

Well, its xmas time which means I'm in full lord of the rings mode.. And i tried watching just your youtube reaction, got 2 minutes in and now I'm here. Again. Vodka arnie palmer in hand

Eric Wallace

It’s easily the greatest trilogy/films ever

Drizzt

What I really enjoy with the extended cuts, is that I get more of yall's commentary.

Toan Toan

I think it's time to do the full watchalongs for these! I only ever watched the YT cuts. A little late but going thru some of ur backlist lol

Sarah

Super late to the party on this one, but the reason Elrond didn't just force Isildur to destroy the ring, or else kill him and take it, is mostly to do with the fact that the Numenoreans (Isildur's people) were vastly more powerful at the time than the elves were. Assaulting the king of Numenor even for the best of reasons would have been a bit like Winston Churchill shooting Harry Truman five minutes after they claimed victory in Europe. It's also the case that Isildur was technically a great nephew of Elrond, which probably also contributed to his hesitation. The line of Numenorean kings are descended from Elrond's twin brother, Elros, who was the founding king of Numenor. In short, there are quite a few reasons. Still should have done it, though. Strength of men failed and blah blah, but Elrond also just shit the bed at the time.

Fellowship of the ring

Eric Wallace

Hey Eric, which video is this for? Using the app here to respond and it doesn't allow me to see which video this is 🤷‍♂️

Badd Medicine

The Weller 107 and the Inside Out reaction somehow made my mind wander back here. I need to know if Oak still gives this the same score after a 2nd viewing?

Eric Wallace

Really enjoyed this one, but it's a great example of how much better you guys have gotten on your newer stuff. Odd to see you guys on your phones, no countdown or anything like that. Because its sunday and i have nothing to do, onto the sequel!

Eric Wallace

🤣🤣🤣🤜🤛

Badd Medicine

I hope to one day find something that brings me as much joy as Oak seeing a meme come up in a movie

Eric Wallace

I am late to this series (watched this film with my mother in law no less when it came out and decided not to show it to my 7 year old son at the time!! ) Anyhow, have you seen The Martian? If not, watch immediately!! (Sean Bean is in it and its hilarious!)

DrEEsky

This is when we were still figuring out formatting and Patreon.

Badd Medicine

Why were there no final comments and scoring after the movie was over?

Ginger

I can't believe you guys forgot the great Mr. John Williams when you were naming movie composers lol. Also, Quinn, since you seem to be the "geek" of the group, I thought you'd appreciate the fact that I have a black cat named Nazgul, an orange cat named Weasley, and a calico cat named Padmé haha. I hit the Triforce of Geekdom

Toukie

Have you thought about adding video to the reaction to help with syncing?

Ginger

I watched this for the first time in middle school. My mom would get an HBO subscription during the summer months so we would have stuff to watch during break. My sisters and I would watch LOTR series over and over all day. We were absolutely obsessed lol.

NS

its a bit off, but figured out its 2 min 30 sec ahead(the reaction video) for anyone else who comes back

Xermaran

Same! I’ve got 2 versions and I keep going out of sink 😩

Melissa Klokocki

unable to sync...

Jarrad M

Thank you Zoe! Lol agreed. Hard to see him as anything but a villain.

Badd Medicine

Love your guy's reactions. Can't wait to see the rest while watching the full movies. Have to say though, the Actor who played Haldir is not the same as the mean Colonel in the Patriot. That is Jason Isaacs who also plays Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter. Between the Patriot and Harry Potter, idk that I could ever see Jason Isaacs in a good guy role and not expect him to turn bad at some point. They do look very similar though. The meme recognition cracks me up too. LOL

Zoe

We've seen comments about HBO max playing differently. Really wish it wasn't. Not sure why it's like that.

Badd Medicine

I don't know how its happening, but i keep falling just like a minute out of sync with ya'll - its driving me crazy cause i absolutely love your reactions ( I subbed for Harry Potter, you made my whole month with that so thanks!)

Annabellae Priestly

This may sound dumb but I'm really struggling to find the same version as you guys I'm from the uk and hbo max isn't available

jake western

Thank you and thanks for supporting the page here. Next movie should be up soon here for early release.

Badd Medicine

of course! If you ever wonder anything or think that some things may have been done differently or don't make much sense, know that there is so much left untold in the movies to not make them 10 hours long each lmao. So the answers are all in the books. If you ever need something to know we'll be there to answer! Also, I'm excited to see the next movie's reaction, hope it will be up soon! keep up the great wotk!

Silmaril

You bet 👍

Badd Medicine

Thanks

Kage Uzumaki

HBO max. 🤘🤙

Badd Medicine

What site did you watch this from

Kage Uzumaki

Great stuff here! Don't be sorry. Helps give some more context of the story. We appreciate it 🤘

You guys need to remember that in those times ( when tolkien was writing the books ) there was nothing creepy in giving your beloved ones strands of your hair, especially when soldiers went to war. It's really innocent, and there is nothing pervy or twisted to it. It's more like a remembering token of your loved ones. Also, Tolkien invented several languages for the elves, with their own grammar, and conjugation. But he also invented languages for dwarves, orcs and men in the same manner. The writers for the movie were actually very careful to be accurate to the languages as they knew how delicate Tolkien was with it. Another thing, there are different ''tribes'' of elves, dwarves and men. There are different kingdoms for each race, etc. The lord of the rings is basically the foundation of all modern fantasy, and everything pretty much took heavy inspiration from it. Galadriel's hair is one of the few that knew the light of Valinor (a heaven-like place) It is this precious that a elven lord, Feanor, asked her three times for a strand of her hair to implement them in jewels, but every time she refused, sensing darkness in his heart. And for her to give three to no less than a dwarf is really symbolic. I'm sorry for the long comment x) I really paraphrased all the lore but i hope you got a general idea! Great reaction anyways!
