Patriotic Fervor (4th of July Special)
Added 2025-07-02 09:00:01 +0000 UTCHappy Independence Day! I know I'm off by a few days, but alas, the 4th didn't land on a Wednesday this year, and I'd rather be a bit early than delay an update.
I opted for an anthology story this time, inspired in its format by the movie Trick R Treat, which for those not in the know, is a horror movie following several stories that occur in the same town on Halloween night, with all of the stories intersecting at various points. Those intersections are pretty minor in this story, but they were fun to include! I think it allows for the option of reading the story and trying to guess who the other segments will belong to.
As a result, I won't spoil who gets a segment here, just that there are three segments in total, each with a different focus and tone. I can confirm though, thanks to the results of a Patron poll, that I will also be writing a Christmas story this year! That one will just focus on a single character, and I'm working on planning it out currently, so it'll be ready in time for the holidays.
Enjoy, and I hope you all have a lovely 4th of July!

Hehe, I'll admit part of that was wanting to avoid any real world politicians, but I may touch on the subject again in the future! If I ever write a story focusing on a politician, I'm sure I'll delve more into who Dixon is and what he's like.
