2022-06-10 03:10:25 +0000 UTCI’m having issues. Also, on a similar note, I would love a Tracie deep dive on Mary from Selling Sunset. She’s on her third marriage, got pregnant the first time she had sex at 16, and is such a mysterious weirdo to me. That show is so odd and fun.

2022-06-09 16:47:15 +0000 UTCI loved this episode and have so many thoughts. First, re: motherhood giving people a purpose for living. While I think that can definitely be true, it’s important to remember that children are people. They do not exist to teach people (specifically women) what it means to be responsible adults or to grow people up quickly. They are people. Full stop. If someone grows up in the process of raising them that’s a fun bonus but that’s not the purpose of children or a reason to have them. Arguing that growing as a person is a reason to have children is very similar to right wing talking points not just against abortion but against birth control. I would LOVE your thoughts on Ezra Klein’s podcast interview last week with conservative legal scholar Erica Bachiochi. It melted my fucking brain and at one point I yelled “Sorry you suck at fucking!” out loud because her views on women’s sexuality where so dumb. You can find it here:
