I've taken a fair amount of time off since the last Ad Company story, since 2021 if I remember correctly, but I'd been planning on bringing it back eventually. I just didn't want to force it until I had enough segment ideas, and it'll be the same for if/when I write a fourth version. But it's a story I enjoy coming back to, since it lets me play with anthology storytelling, which is something I absolutely adore. I've been a lifelong fan of horror anthologies (Creepshow being one of the first ever horror movies I saw and enjoyed), and this story lets me do both horror and dark comedy in a way I enjoy.
Some of these stories lean more towards comedy, others more towards horror (particularly the final segment) and others towards straight stepfordization, so there's a little bit of everything!
This story also features a running joke inspired by the fact that I was getting into Riverdale when I wrote it, so all the "castmembers" so to speak are named after Archie characters. Which, actually, if you'd like to see some 1950s fashion straight from the time period, I highly recommend looking up old Archie comics.
