The House Wins: Chapter Four
Added 2023-03-29 12:00:01 +0000 UTCThis chapter officially puts us into totally uncharted waters. All three of the previous installments were set prior to Bet On Red, the sequel to Bet On Black. With chapter four, however, we're now beyond that point in time, and can see what becomes of these characters down the road.
Unlike previous chapters, here we see more of Mallory on her own, when it's just her and her children at home, away from friends or neighbors or her husband. We also see more into Mallory's own internal perspective, and her view of herself as a housewife, and how she reacts to a chance at freedom.

What if something happened like a reverse situation in this story, where a wife who isn't entirely devoted is visited by someone who has every appearance of being disguised as a Stepford agent visits a wife, she goes along thinking the other is a rebel, but gets taken further. Perhaps a woman who is trying as hard as possible to appear brainwashed, but is finally actually brainwashed by someone pretending to help
