Welp this was not the experience I was hoping for when buying my first Prusa MK 3D Printer. Ordered the MK4 on launch day and got it last week. After a pretty fun live stream unboxing & printing on wood!! You read that right ๐๐คฃ the auto leveling allowed it to print directly on a piece of thin wood.
Unfortunately I havenโt been able to really print anything other than the test print.
After a lot of back and forth with Prusa support they are asking me to send it back so they can review & send me a new one.
For sure not the sort of experience I was expecting from a $1300 machine.
I have a video coming out Friday that goes over all of the issues i ran into with the unit & some of the trouble shooting support had me do.
Will be a โfunโ video as Iโm Sure will get allllll sorts of fun comments. But was my experience with it and want to share it out there like any other machine. Good news is Prusa support was very helpful & want to swap it out.
Issues
1.Metal display connection bent down below printer & scratched up my table top
2. Crazy banding/wobbling/layer shifts with prints
3. 2 clogs with the Galaxy black prusament using the mk4 Prusa profiles
4. First layers are very inconsistent
5. Auto leveling is causing indents in the front corner of the bed (confirmed on FB happening to other MK4 users)
6. USB they provided completely died in less than 12 hours of use. Canโt access the card on any machine / lost whatever files were on there.
