CORRECTION: In the video I say they visit 1993, but they actually arrive in 1992.

Another thing to take into consideration regarding the bath scene is that a medieval person, specially a peasant, wouldn't just madly throw all the soap/bath salts into the water, on the contrary, a medieval person would be much more sparing, more economical. Also, a medieval person would not just carelessly grab the glass jar, considering that glass was a somewhat complex and expensive product in the past.

The film follows the picaresque journey of two vagabond travelers, who seem to be making the pilgrimage as a means of escape. Along the way, they witness a series of bizarre incidents involving historical Christian heresies. At key moments, they encounter Jesus and the Virgin Mary, as well as modern believers and fanatics."
