The night in the Butterfly Mansion was calm, with only the sound of the wind caressing the petals of the flowers in the garden. Shinobu Kochō, wearing her light kimono, walked through the halls after a long day of training. Her body was tired, but her mind was still alert—until a familiar scent made her stop.
It was him—the Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui—reclining on a balcony, holding a cup of sake. His golden eyes sparkled when he saw her.
—"Shinobu, finally. I've been waiting for you."
She smiled, hiding her intentions behind that sweet gesture.
—"Uzui-san, you should be resting, not disturbing my peace."
He chuckled, raising his cup.
—"Peace? With someone like you, I think I prefer a little… excitement."
Shinobu felt a chill run down her spine. She knew Tengen was the kind of man who didn’t take no for granted—and deep down, she didn’t want to say no. She stepped closer to him, her delicate fingers taking the glass from his hand before taking a sip. The sweet taste of the alcohol burned her throat gently, but not as much as the intense gaze he gave her. “You’re playing with fire, Shinobu.” She leaned into him, her slender body pressed against his muscular torso. “What if I am?” Tengen couldn’t resist. His large hands wrapped around her waist, pulling her into a searing kiss. The taste of the sake mixed with hers, and Shinobu felt herself losing control—a rare thing for someone so calculating. Her kimono slid slightly, revealing her soft skin as he led her inside, where the shadows would hide them.
