Video: They Let Me Put Coffee Stuff In A CT Scanner!

Hopefully this is a fun and entertaining video, because I really enjoyed making this - even with the embarrassing errors (owing to a lack of forethought)!

There's not a lot to add to this one, except that I did take a couple of other electronic items to scan. I did see if we could fit the Decent in there, but sadly we could not! Would have looked very cool I think!

While chatting to the team from Lumafield afterwards, they did kindly run a couple more scans. Those didn't end up in the video, but you can have a look at them here:

You can see that most of the damage done is coming from the end of the shot and the expansion in the basket as pressure leaves up through the group and into the waste. To see channelling, we could only use a lever machine. Or maybe a cheap Gaggia that doesn't have a discharge valve. I wonder if the design of a lever and the ramp down in pressure has an impact on the formation of channels, or even allows them to close a bit. Perhaps the Gaggia would be better, even if you'd have to wait a while to avoid the dreaded portafilter sneeze!

Let me know if you have any feedback on these Patreon-hosted videos. They're only 1080, because they don't allow 4k, and perhaps for a video like this that is an issue. Hopefully not! I know some folks are happy to avoid YouTube altogether, but I don't want that to come with much in the way of compromise... You tell me!

Best,

James

I find patreon to be terrible to interact with. Bad controls, no Apple TV app, generally frustrating. I typically watch on YouTube despite having a patreon membership.
