Video: The Beginner's Guide to Latte Art

I’ll start with a confession: I was hesitant to make this video for a long time, mostly because I am not the world’s greatest latte artist (and never really have been). That said, I still thought I had something valuable to offer - having taught hundreds of people over the years to pour latte art.

This edit is slightly different from the YouTube version. Firstly, it has no ad read. Secondly, you’ve got a longer cut of the diagnostics section towards the end of the video.

This video is a bit longer than usual, and you could argue it could be three or four individual videos but I liked the idea of it being just one. Hopefully my approach to breaking down the techniques helps those of you who are looking to improve. (Though I should point out that there’s a coffee giveaway in the public video, in case that’s of interest).

We shot some high speed stuff for this video (480fps for those into that sort of thing), because I think it shows a couple of things in a way that you can’t see any other way. Plus it’s always fun to hire a fancy camera for a day!

Hope you all enjoy it and that it is useful!

Is there a way to submit diagnosis pictures after the video? Lol

The two streamable links at the bottom of the post now just show "This video isn't available anymore." Would it be possible to re-enable them or upload to Patreon/YT? Thank you!

The description for the video on my YouTube channel includes two links for the coffee, and you're welcome to enter on both links!
