The Magician - Back in progress
Added 2024-01-03 14:45:03 +0000 UTCThis was the card that inspired me to consider making changes after I finished with the Major Arcana. Not because I was dissatisfied with the painting, but because I forgot to add an important symbol in the original version.
Looking back on this piece though, I am not satisfied with the level of painting that I had done back in 2022. This was during the period where I was trying to merge a more flat, graphic style with my usual painting tendencies in order to establish a unique look for the Tarot series. I don't think it works and I don't really love this old piece.
After a couple sessions moving the furniture around on this painting, I am feeling vastly more satisfied. The latter half of 2023, after having finished my extensive study series, I am feeling much stronger as a painter and the work is making me much happier. Moving into 2024, I'm excited to jump into more work and see what comes out. I hope you're looking forward to it as well.
