Legacy Print Update + New Store Items, and More

I'm thinking about the future a lot recently and I owe some of you some updates, so let's jump into it.

The End of Legacy Print Subscriptions

Specifics first. The planned end date for print subscriptions is April 2021. I've listed new prints on the calendar for 2021 leading up to that point.

I'm not ending the print subscriptions for financial reasons. I'll probably lose a lot of monthly income from shutting them down, but I'll regain a set of freedoms I haven't had in a long time.

For the past 7 years, I've been personally involved in shipping around 20,000 packages out. A lot of those packages were shipped straight from my home studio. Working out of a basement or garage has allowed me to offer small batch and delicate items like prints but it also means I need to stay involved all the time to keep it running.

It's more important that I stay involved in the creative parts of this project and not so much when it comes to cardboard tubes. With the very late Kickstarter finally coming to a close and my current assistant moving away after graduation this May, I've got a perfect opportunity to break away from my old way of doing things and rebuild it better.

New Prints on the Store

Speaking of ending the way I sell prints, you might like to know that the batch of prints I've just listed on the store constitutes one of the final batches before my convention stock from last year runs dry.

Once the convention stuff is all wrapped up and made ready for the return of large scale public gatherings, I'll be launching some new ways for people to buy my art online. My hope is that I can make something that will suit everyone's needs a little better than what I've got now.

Legacy Print Shipping Update

Shipping stuff got a little wild around the holidays and we ran out of tubes. I had planned ahead and was expecting 1000 new tubes to show up on Dec 7th, but there were delays at the manufacturer they didn't arrive until the 23rd.

I'm really sorry about the delay. I'm not typically this late when it comes to shipping, but when this happens I prefer to roll two months' worth of prints out simultaneously rather than do them back to back. With so many people receiving both the November and December prints, it will be a lot less packaging and manpower to ship them together in about a week.

NFT Drop - The Aftermath

The release on Makers Place went really well! The run of 100 Azrael, Keeper of the Golden Heart tokens sold within 2 minutes of launch. Which was awesome.

The idea behind selling a bunch of tokens for cheap was to give hardcore fans like you an opportunity to resell to slower collectors. The first one of the batch to resell went for $180, which is pretty significant considering I issued them at $10 each.

The 1 of 1 Malkuth token auctioned off for 4.8 ETH, which translates to about $3,100 USD. That's the most anyone has ever paid for a single piece of my art in any format. The idea that my work is more valuable as a blockchain token than as a physical artifact is a challenging truth. Challenging in a good way. As a digital artist, having my work valued in a digital format fills a void in my heart I didn't realize was there.

The success of my work as NFTs is not going to alter the way I sell prints or create things like books. It's a new and unique branch of Angelarium that does not overlap with any other part of it. Considering my plans to delocate all the shipping operations, this all couldn't be happening at a better time.

Thanks for reading my very long update! Feel free to hit me up with any questions here in the comments section.

Much love,

-Pete
