Whenever I think about health and healing, I think about a person's insides.
Tiny tubes and membranes tighten and relax as they excrete and are excreted upon. A tide of enzymes and hormones washes back and forth through a complex web of fiber and protein. Somewhere amid all that gross chaos, a system is seeking balance. Healing is a messy process. One that hides underneath a cloak of simplicity.
Once this piece started to come together, what I realized I wanted out of it was a strange balance between the surreal and mundane. Half Barlowe and half Magritte. Perhaps in his next iteration, I'll paint a version of Raphael smoking a pipe using his sentient meat cube.
Feel free to share a fan art of that if you are so inclined.
