Rahab, Keeper of the Faith - Early Colors

Two paintings in a row started with a failed attempt at going to color. Must be my own cosmic punishment for having such an easy time with Azazel.

There is something slippery about attempting to get colors to stick to a painting. It's not like there is anything overly complicated going on here that is causing this piece to give me trouble. I'm sure that this seems like a perfectly fine piece to finish. It's just a little mushy, right?

The problem with this color scheme isn't with anything that can be measured. The problem is with the fact that I can't see the next steps clearly. Each phase of the painting obviously needs to build on the last but it also needs to reveal the next steps as well. Any progress that doesn't increase my clarity isn't really progress at all.

Into the ash heap...

You would think it would be an easy choice..under the sea man! Greens and blues but it's not that simple....I see Rah glowing with energy in the abyss...a darker energy..

I really love seeing you images develop and your personal posts when you share what works for you and what doesn’t. I look forward to your new version.
