Where's Pete? Why isn't he painting?

Hey,

There I am, with the super loud jacket, standing next to my childhood art idol, Brom.

This was taken last weekend in San Antonio at the Alamo City Comicon. It was my last convention appearance of the year and the end of a spectacular, if exhausting run of events. Between this and Illuxcon in Reading, PA, I've been completely slammed this last month. After Remiel dropped, I immediately got buried in a combination of travel and my yearly playmat vault event.

The playmat vault was supposed to be a nice little thing I did for my tabletop fans but it grew too successful and overwhelmed me. As I'm writing this, my assistant Matt is pouring over orders and trying to keep afloat in an ocean of rubber mats. The success of the event was a good thing, but it caught us and our printer by surprise, pushing everything back into time I had set aside to make art.

It's been too long since I got any real art done and I'm starting to really feel it.  Travel, online sales, licensing and the business administration that goes with it has sapped me in a way that I'm not happy about. The goal going forwards is to begin to cut heavily from my responsibilities and refocus on the act of making paintings.

The first big thing I did to accomplish this was to cut my line of Magic tokens. They will still be sold, but by vendors other than me. I'm no longer going to be concerning myself with the production, promotion or sales of any tokens.

I'm seeing daylight, but I thought I would be there by now. I should definitely be clear by December. But for now, I'm going to wrap up all my admin responsibilities and take some serious steps to making sure that they are kept in check moving forwards.

This year, I finally got ahead of the curve on shipping and got the average time to fill orders from 2 weeks down to about 1-3 days, I think I can live a life where I don't need to take weeks away from painting to catch up on emails, taxes, contracts and travel plans.

Thanks as always for your support, you are the reason that I am able to continue making Angelarium.

It's good to know that the man who paints angels is still human! haha. I'm so appreciative for all the transcendent art and content that you create. Thanks for showing us artists that business is an important (and often needy) beast. I can't wait to see the next paintings you have in store, and to continue to learn from all the progress you make on your journey. Once I've made it to a point where I can afford to contribute more for prints and the like I'll gladly do so. Keep killing it!
