Here's a detail crop of where I'm at right now.I've been fiddling with the gesture as well as the colors and textures in the scene. Despite making very few changes to the overall structure, these little tweaks really take up a lot of time and effort for me. Making sure all the subtleties are just where I want them is a large part about what's so enjoyable about painting for me. Even if spending hours on them earned me no extra money, I would still want to work this way. It just feels good.Anyways. Things are all running quite smoothly at the studio, despite continuing to be horribly behind on my email. Dragoncon prep is coming to a close with a week left until I depart, which is a stark contrast to my preparedness for Gencon. Last month, I was literally signing prints up until the moment I was leaving for the airport. Now that I'm feeling ahead of the curve, I'm looking forwards to a return to making more pieces of art every month. Rather than finding new ways of selling the artwork, I want to get back to how things were early one where I was primarily painting every day. That seems doable, as soon as I get a few things in order.
