A Holidays Message from Ace

Dear subscriber of this page, I'd like to thank you for being here from the bottom of my heart. OpenSex has become very important for me. Other than containing the animations which I always wanted to see for myself, it also stands for a few important things:

• Open license mod with work files made public. I believe all Skyrim mods should be made like this. Have you ever seen a cool mod that has gotten no updates for a while and is kinda (or very) broken? Most likely, if you see the permissions of said mod, they are closed. Open license mods can be updated by new maintainers indefinitely (as is the case with OStim). Please enquire the authors of closed permission mods about this; make your voice heard about this crucial topic.

• Adult mods that are realistic, intricate representations of intimacy. At this point, I don't think it's accurate to say OpenSex is a "sex mod" when there are many non-sexual romantic animations (and some that aren't even romantic, such as Devour vampire feeding animations). OpenSex is an adult mod that tries to realistically represent intimacy in TES:V. If we can get an OStim mod that does immersive relationship-building, we would be a great spot in this aspect. If you are interested in a Romance framework, let Drei know about it.

• Work ethic in mod development. Over one year of weekly updates, a thorough installation and troubleshooting guide, an active support channel were key accomplishments for the success of this project. I believe mod authors should take the task of mod development seriously because a great amount of what you learn by doing it can be taken outside of the context of modding. For example, Drei began developing C++ code for the first time with OStim NG. Such skills are certainly useful for a professional context.
  
  Anyone that says "mod development should only be a hobby" 1) have no business dictating what mod authors should do; 2) don't understand how times have been shifting (people have said the same about YouTubers and streamers in the past, and now that is widely recognized as a "real" occupation by their standards); and 3) funnily enough they end up using the "paywalled" content they criticize so much.

• Camaraderie. The OStim NG community has welcomed members from all over the world, from different nations and beliefs. I believe that all of these distinct people joining together for the common enjoyment of modding shows that we, as humans, can put aside some personal disagreements and enjoy things together harmoniously.
