In fact, their role in the formation of the Aelaranthae Empire was minuscule. Neither supporting nor denying. They are a theocracy. So, when the Aelaranthae Empire was formed, they founded a church inside.
They extolled the virtue of the goddess, and The Aelaranthae were fine with it. However, they couldn’t proceed further for they were unable to coerce the Aelaranthae using the name of the goddess, so the church remained impoverished. They had proposed to the Aelaranthae to make their church a national church, but it was rejected.
This of course enraged the Celestialine, however, they couldn’t do anything for Aelaranthae had no needs. They couldn’t accuse them of opulence for they barely use their gold. They couldn’t accuse them of infidelity for they were not even human. Aelaranthae were made to the ideals of the goddess. They couldn’t find any blemish from them. The more they accuse the Aelaranthae , the more the citizens are aware of how corrupt the theocracy are. So, all they could do was merely excommunicated the Aelaranthae .
Such excommunication did not affect Aelaranthae in the least. They have proven themselves by vanquishing the champion of the chaos cult. Moreover they lived a long life. So, the churches of Celestialine pulled away their decree and became obsequious to them. Although they never became vassals of Aelaranthae Empire, there were no records of them ever disparaging The Aelaranthae any further because if they did, their believer would desert them.
Nevertheless, their corruption never comes to light. Not all parasites killed their host. They adapted themselves, they will leech as much from their devotee while looking out for Aelaranthae reaction. And so, that’s how The Holy Kingdom of Celestialine continue to this day.
